http://oi61.tinypic.com/1z1a5vd.jpg - This was a layover she posted on her own to prove she didn't trace, it's since been removed.

Image provided by the tracer as the original image she attempted to make money from; http://theperfectpose.com/HowToPose/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/bride-alone-poses-1.jpg

New, closer overlay provided by a member of the community, showing the tracer's overlay was skewed and warped in her 'evidence', and the image is in fact, very traced, at minimum very heavily referenced without citing the source on the original auction to begin with; https://www.dropbox.com/s/gem52e82kbk0jil/trace.png

EXPLAIN: I happened across this image while browsing, looking through her gallery, and the image itself, it's clearly traced. I commented as you can see above asking the artist to cite her source, and the image was replaced with the above overlay as 'proof' she didn't trace. This artist attempted to trace a photograph for monetary gain, and should be avoided.

WHAT: Stolen/Ripped Off Character[s] and Traced Work mostly [traditional work thats scanned]

WHEN: Started Feb 28th and has still yet to be resolved [ Edit: artwork has been taken down from said sites 4/6/2013 ]

PROOF:

My character: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6220005/

"Their" character: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v198/WwCheshireWolfwW/xmindfieldx/gb7GB_zps35b0cde0.png
Traced Work It came from: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7863899/

"Their" Work: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v198/WwCheshireWolfwW/xmindfieldx/PsCGv_zpsf5aa739e.png
Traced Work: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8643546/

Im sure on their portfolio site the other images are traced from other artists but I'm unsure of which or I dont have the links to the original work.

EXPLAIN: February 28th, 2013 04:23 I sent a note to an artist on FA who drew a picture of what looked like my character, Cheshire. I noticed that the commission was done for someone by the name of xminefieldx. Unsure of how to handle the situation I contacted the artist to inquire on how they came about to drawing that character because it looks almost exactly like mine. I was provided this link. http://www.neopets.com/petlookup.phtml?pet=Corgion ; Upset about the situation I sent a note to xminefieldx. It took some time to receive a response but here is the first set of conversations I had with them.

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3611006/First%20Conversation.png

They took down all the work on the neopets page right after their last note to me.

March 12th, 2013 06:56 I send out another note to xminefieldx as I find another artist had drawn and posted the same character xminefieldx had acknowledged  the immoral use of the stolen character.

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3611006/Second%20Conversation.png

They claimed that this was the last commission floating out there but...

March 22nd, 2013 I accidentally clicked a bookmarked link to xminefieldx's neopets page just to find all the work that was promised to be taken down was now back up. Again upset about it all I decided to search about. I found their direct user name http://www.neopets.com/userlookup.phtml?user=fawxii and noticed they posted link to their art and for trades.

This brought me to this page: http://www.neopets.com/~danged#pg1

Once again my "character" is not only up there but it appears that xminefieldx has been drawing the traced work all along and not some friend of theirs. I noticed some of the work here as direct traces with minor alterations and some of pieces I do not know if they belong to anyone else but since all the styles are different I can only assume each of those was taken from several artists. All of those have copy write notes to xminefieldx with no credit given to the original artist work.

Note: I left the artist that created the commissons for xminefieldx out because I want to keep their names in good sake since I believe they were as much in the dark as I was. This is also my first post here. I hope provided enough detail and alow people to be aware of xminefieldx's ripped off goods. Its possible that trades they have done with other people are just as much as a rip off as the trace of my character and SqueedgeMonsters's art. I also contacted Neopets and I'm waiting for a reply.

WHO: Multiple accounts (Klinx, Newbieadopts, Celestyal, SurveyOnTheGo, ImInVain, etc.)

WHERE: www.furaffinity.net - Multiple accounts, and creating more.

WHAT: Selling Adoptables / Plushies / Digital Art without delivery; Selling artwork that is not owned by the account owner.

WHEN: ~2 weeks (02Dec2012) and still ongoing.

EXPLAIN: For the past two weeks, Fur Affinity has been dealing with a rash of new accounts being created for the explicit purpose of attempting to sell 'stolen artwork'. These accounts only seem to remain active for a few days, reposting auctions that have already been won (again, of stolen art- usually taken from VCL or DA galleries) and then notifying the winners of where to send their payments. These payments are currently being made over PayPal, with instruction to send as a 'gift', so it may not be contested once the account is found to be a scam.

If you currently conduct business over Fur Affinity, please be aware that this is an ongoing issue, and that we are dealing with the separate accounts as soon as we find them. The user(s) have been hopping from one IP address to another, so we have been unable to maintain an IP ban on them, and have to rely on singular account suspensions. If you feel you have come across an account of this nature, please contact me directly through notes at

Hey!

So this is a bit of a weird beware. I don't know if this guy is someone who would likely commission anyone or contact you guys but I shall warn you of him anyway.

Back in february I got an email from a guy called Gene Mills about my angry fox drawing . Here is the first emails . It's an old drawing I don't really care that much about, but this guy came off very demanding so I told him no, I don't want him to use it. If he had asked a bit nicer I might have said yes. It is true though that I don't have the psd files anymore and for all I remember I might have drawn it in the same low resolution anyway, it's 9 years since I made it and I was learning photoshop. I also don't use an agent, which he claims randomly contacted him about the same drawing just as I turned him down, how convenient for him! So I thought I would just ignore this guy.

Then yesterday I got a new email from him, different email address but same name, and he now claims that he bought the rights to the drawing for $20 from an agent. Here are the emails, I'll let them speak for themselves as the whole thing is very absurd!
Lastly "Jen Young" sent me this email, and I don't really know why he/she did that. I get the feeling he is trying to taunt me by showing me what I missed or whatever. I still don't understand who this Jen Young person is meant to be either, is she supposed to be the "agent" or the "original" artist?

With some help from a friend I found out a bit more about the guy and here is a picture of how he has used my drawing.
I don't understand what he is trying to achieve, if he hadn't emailed me again I would have never even known he used my drawing. I never contacted him first.

Anyway, I don't want to spend much more time on this guy as he obviously not a very serious or a guy that respects other people, and there isn't a lot I can do. I probably wont post this on deviantart like I told him, but I will at least warn you guys about him!

WHO: Kai

WHEREhttp://www.furaffinity.net/user/kai/

WHAT: Commissions artists using stolen, often doctored art as a "reference".

WHEN: ONGOING FOR YEARS. Records of theft dating back to 2008, possibly much longer.

EXPLAIN: First, tl;dr : Kai is stealing art to pass on to artists as "references" to gain commissioned art of stolen characters, without telling the artist involved that the reference is not their own, OR the artist(s) they stole from.

In April 2011, Kai commissioned me for a certain piece involving their "Asaneth" mech character with Overlai's "Kuu" character (NSFW: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5539711/). I thought nothing of it at the time, but soon after realized some of the references they provided for their Asaneth character were a bit suspicious...

NSFW: http://image.bayimg.com/dapoeaach.jpg
NSFW: http://kauske.org/Profiles/ekastuff/isisballs.jpg
(mirrors incase the previous links are removed:
NSFW: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/64345918/dapoeaach.jpg
NSFW: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/64345918/isisballs.jpg )

...Considering they look like they were ripped right out of Pixiv or some other japanese scans. I still have no evidence that Kai ever actually created the character, or even had it created for them, considering they never posted the images to their gallery. I really should have done something about it, or even asked where they had gotten the art from, but it didn't occur to me until a while after the commission was completed.

UPDATE: "Asaneth" references were confirmed also stolen from a Zone of the Enders fan doujinshi (NSFW):
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/64345918/25aqj4j.jpg
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/64345918/33bedty.jpg
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/64345918/k9cpzq.jpg

Anyway, Kai always had a fascination with Overlai's "Kuu" character, but once I stopped maintaining my Vial account or doing fetish commissions, I guess they decided to just make their own Kuu instead:

NSFW: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/64345918/1330867288.kai_saviosheet.jpg
NSFW: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/64345918/savioport.jpg
(original posts were on Kai's furaffinity page, have since been taken down.)

At first I wrote it off as just some design inspiration, but Overlai took the time to note the original artist, spookable:

Spookable: "Hi there. kai provided me with references which I assumed were of her own character when I was commissioned to make the sheet, because that's typically how it's done and until now it'd never been done otherwise. Someone sent me a note informing me of your character after I'd uploaded, who I had never seen before. I genuinely apologize -- If I had known, I wouldn't have taken the commission, and I didn't think this person would have sent me someone else's character images for reference because that's quite literally never been done before."

The refs spookable had been provided to work from were direct edits of MY OWN ART. I had NEVER given Kai permission to use my art. They edited it, removed my name, and passed it on to spookable, deceiving them into believing it was art created for them of their own original character. This was a blatant lie.

My original art (nsfw): http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4616700/
Kai's edited "reference" sent to spookable (nsfw): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/64345918/Ailith.jpg (the original link was at http://kauske.org/Profiles/Battalion/Kodiak%20fleet/Ailith.jpg , but was very recently removed)

I'm concerned that this Kai person has a long-running history of theft and deception towards well-meaning artists, and wanted to do something about it. Kai is refusing to work with Overlai or me to resolve the character theft, and has blocked Overlai and I on FurAffinity, and wouldn't talk to us at all in notes or comments. Any comments we had left on their work was deleted (before the submissions themselves were finally removed), and they're trying to pass off our attempts of communication as harassment.

This theft seems to be a LONG-RUNNING PROBLEM. Someone else managed to find this trouble thread:

http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-websites-list/2008-January/msg00063.html

...In reference to the "kauske.org" site which seems to be Kai's personal server space, hosting more stolen character art, in 2008

DO NOT ACCEPT A COMMISSION FROM KAI, THEIR CHARACTERS AND WORK ARE STOLEN!

So, what should we do about it? :)

Hey all,

I was browsing for information about one of my favorite apps and found an online guide that had art on it I recognize - of Yao-Chi. I do not see credit for it anywhere. Looking around, I'm see a couple more pictures being used too. It is possible that these artists were contacted, but in my experience, highly unlikely. So I'm sharing this URL in case you know how to contact these artists or are one of them:

Clicky

Here is their facebook page, which appears to have lots of random photos in its album - dunno if that's 'okay' with folks, but if nothing else maybe those whose art is being used on the actual site can contact them through here:

Facebook

If it turns out they have permission I apologize. Oddly this does not appear to be related to the official game at all, so at least there is that. Just a fan page I guess.

The user WhiteFenrril on Furaffinity admitted to me over instant messenger that he traces his artwork.

http://www.furaffinity.net/user/whitefenrril

He contacted me and after I looked at his gallery a lot of the images in his gallery looked traced, so I called him out and this is the admission that I received: http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/ae330/FruityBlergs/stolenartadmissioncensored.png

Most of the commissions in his gallery are TRACED. DO NOT COMMISSION HIM. If you have commissioned this artist in the past please ask for your money back!

I would also appreciate it if the people on this community could help me find the sources of his traced images!

Hello there! This is a warning about a situation myself and some other people have wound up in, and also about the artist in the title. We all work for the same website (that will remain disclosed for now), including the person being reported. She has been caught tracing stock images from various websites and we're in the middle of reporting her to the owner, as higher members of staff have just denied it completely.

A DeviantART user has several recolors and straight up stolen art in their gallery.  They had (badly) recolored one of mine, as reported to me by another deviant, though they deleted it before the mods could act on my report.  Their defense was "I found it on photobucket" as if that makes it okay...

Anyway, the gallery is here: http://awsomeangelisth.deviantart.com/gallery/  I don't recognize any of the work myself, but the recolors are extremely obvious, and the lack of a defined style among the others (except the sprites) suggest theft.  If this is your art or you know whose it is, please help in reporting to DA admins.  Thanks. :)
