Things People Say To Artists...

And commissioners as well...

I hope this is allowed....
I am trying to compile a list of things people have said to artists and commissioners that have a negative view/stance on various subjects surrounding art. Mediums, pricing, marketing, art itself, methods, etc.  Anything and everything, even if it seems minor. What arguments have you seen out there?
Please number/point if you have more than one to share.

Examples of what I'm looking for:
-Digital is worth more than traditional.
-Art isn't a real job. (Everyone knows this one)
-Digital art is cheating.
-Patreon is a scam/paywall.

Variations on the same thing and details are welcome because sometimes it can add another dynamic to the opinion that must also be tackled.

Refusal to give service must be so stressful for the artist, gosh. But your first point with the "sorry I've been busy!" thing, I keep seeing that come up more and more with fursuit makers. Suddenly their e-mail isn't receiving messages when it hasn't been for... Oh, the past 5 months worth of updates? I think you have a problem. Then they disable notes/comments and suddenly there's no way to contact them. Or you're busy moving and won't have internet or won't be able to start until you're done unpacking which might never happen? You probably shouldn't take a commission.

It makes me so sad to see people putting money over their work and clients. :[

Yes, this is DEFINITELY a HUUUUUUGE problem with fursuit makers and it seems to be getting worse over time. There are makers who used to be great but I wouldn't even think about commissioning now because of this.

Might be scaling problems or something, I don't know. But it was one of the main drivers I created FursuitReview-- to keep track of that sort of thing.

But, it's not unique to fursuit makers, obviously. Been shafted by drawing artists, too.
