At one point my husband and I bought a HUGE- like, 7-foot-tall- cat tree. It was something like $100 for the thing, and $130 for the shipping.
Now, the shipping wasn't anything like $130... but it was still an amazingly good deal for something that would have cost $500 or more at our local pet stores, so we were comfortable paying it. Yeah, it was something of a racket with the shipping... but it was still a great item for a really fair price, shipping included. I would not have felt comfortable complaining about the shipping costs under the circumstances, especially as it was still a really good value AND we'd agreed to pay that.
