DO NOT commission Timitei on FA [udated]

This is an update of this:

http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/517601.html

She came back to FA about two weeks ago, claiming she had NO POSSIBLE way to get internet access for the past 5 months [even though its only been 4 months since her last submission] and she had been giving people shouts and favs that I saw throughout this whole time, so I honestly don't believe it. And even so, she could have found a way to get up with her PAYING customers.

Well, she FINALLY finished it, after I talked to her a few times asking her what was going on.

I basically commented on one of her submissions to get her attention to finish it, it was personal art which she had been posting ONLY personal art in the past two weeks since she came back. So I commented on her newest submission and asked why was she drawing personal art instead of working on commissions. She proceeded to be very rude to me and was coming up with excuses. I told her it was her JOB to do what she was paid for and if she spent all the time that she had been doing personal art[I counted about 6 pieces since shes been back] then she could have gotten it done by now.
The submission we talked on is still there but she has hidden all of our comments and I was not able to get a screencap before so but here it is: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7178207

Well she posted the submission of my commission a little bit later..

Submission: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7178585/
Screenshot in case she deletes it or changes the tags: http://oi43.tinypic.com/2czyrlu.jpg

She even wrote in the TAGS of the submission that it was rushed [in a very rude way]
I pretty much don't even want to use it now, she has left a HORRIBLE taste in my mouth and it makes me extremely weary to ever commission anyone I don't know again.

This artist is extremely unprofessional and I would NOT recommend commissioning them.

Well that sure is mature and professional...

[identity profile] kaliedosock.livejournal.com 2012-01-09 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
And here I thought I couldn't get even more shocked at artist behavior...

very unprofessional...a well-deserved beware.

The tags alone are a bullet in their own foot. How silly and sad for all.

Wow... Beware well warranted.

The tags are great.

[identity profile] vellacraptor.livejournal.com 2012-01-09 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Wow. I would be livid if I were you, and be petitioning a refund or at least partial with that work.
Extremely unprofessional, cheese and rice. 8|

I can't even pretend to be surprised by Timitei anymore, to be honest. :/ I'm really sorry you had to deal with that.

[identity profile] ryunwoofie.livejournal.com 2012-01-09 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
I've seen her around a few times. She's never really had a record for being professional or tactful IMO. This hardly surprises me. Beware well warranted..

Some people can't resist making that one last dig, not realizing (or not caring) that it just makes them look petty and small.

[identity profile] vellacraptor.livejournal.com 2012-01-09 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
And thank you for this follow up post, I do say. :>

[identity profile] genkigami.livejournal.com 2012-01-09 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't she like 15 or 16 anyway? Her little quips smack of teenager. And not in a good way.

Sarcasm, hack rush job and snarkiness to a paying customer with legitimate concerns?

Beware indeed :/

From what I remember, paypal allows accounts when you're under 18, you just need a bank account. I had my own paypal at 17.

You can do business under 18, but minors can't be held against a contract. So, if something happens, they can -technically- get away with it.

... 'with that work'? Pardon? I worked on that for several hours. I know I am not even talented in the slightest when it comes to art but the only part that was rushed was the colouring... :I

[identity profile] timitei.livejournal.com 2012-01-09 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
The only thing that was rushed about the piece was the colouring but honestly if you think it's ugly or whatever I can re-do it...

Also I wish you'd stop overemphasizing the fact that I posted personal art. The doodles I posted took maybe 20 minutes each. I honestly don't see what's so wrong about me also drawing for fun while working on commissions. It has been just two weeks since I got my new laptop. Two weeks. and I've been incredibly busy with family over the holiday break. I was working on it as fast as I could and I honestly don't think that two weeks is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for a ref sheet.

also please stop using the wrong gender when referring to me, seriously, just... what

None of it should have been rushed in the first place. If you didn't appreciate the customer asking why you were doing personal work when they were waiting on their commission from you, which they had already created a beware for once before - you should have refunded them.

And if you didn't want to be caught out 'rushing' - you shouldn't have tagged the art like you did. Snippy, grudgy type things that we see here in that screencap? No one appreciates those antics, it degrades you, your art and obviously makes the commissioner feel like outright crap.

[identity profile] timitei.livejournal.com 2012-01-09 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
I rushed it so it would be finished more quickly to give her what she wanted. I had no money to refund the customer with and I don't see why her asking me a question is grounds to throw away the hours of work I did and give a refund, especially considering I don't have the money for that.

Also obviously I'm not upset that I got "caught" rushing. Never said that. The part that's upsetting is the way people are making comments about how rushed it looks or whatever, implying that it's bad somehow, just because I coloured more quickly

Extremely unprofessional. I'd be very upset if I were you too.

I think you're misreading what the OP is saying. The OP never once mentioned that s/he thought your art was ugly. They stated that your rude behavior is what put them off from using your art. To be honest, if I was in the commissioner's shoes, I wouldn't use the art either after the tags that you've placed on the art plus the curt, rude "Here" in the description.

As for personal art, I agree to some extent that having commissions shouldn't bar artists from creating personal art. However, if you're posting several personal pieces without updating the commissioner, then I think it's fair for them to wonder about the status of their piece. I'm not sure how the conversation went or what transpired between you two, but if the commissioner simply asked for an update of their commission or simply asked if you were working on their piece, then s/he has every right to ask that.

For your last point, I looked at your profile, and the only sort of indication of what gender you are is from your name, since you do not explicitly post what gender you are (unless I missed it, and I apologize if I did). And from that name, I would've guessed that you were female as well, so it's unfair to chastise the OP for a simple mistake.
