That's fair. As a former friend of yours I was upset and shying away from further conflict; it's my own fault for not having a backbone and telling you the errors I saw with the piece.
However, you may want to look at it from a perspective of that I shouldn't have had to. I understand that the feelings involved in the situation were less than friendly and the last thing you wanted to do was make us happy. But personally, if I was dealing with a similar situation with one of my own commissioners, I'd do my best to make the piece as perfect as I was able in order to resolve the situation and stop interaction with the commissioner.
