According to the OP, this guy has been telling lies about the OP ("I also found out that this person is going around telling people they'll put me on here just because they think I was "avoiding them" for the last two days... They are also a liar, claiming I said things when I did not.") which would be enough for me to want to drop him and if this were a situation where I could refund him, I would. Unfortunately it's not a money transaction, so I agree with everything else that you've said.
