WHO: Alex Dachshund @ Furaffinity

WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/alexdachshund/

WHAT: It was agreed as a digital peice, A rave picture for a picture of one of my chars. It was so long ago I cant even remember what I wanted. :\

WHEN: About 7 months ago, here is my half: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5208869/  (NOTE: For pictures like these, I charge about 20$+)

PROOF: http://imageshack.us/f/18/alexdacca.png/

EXPLAIN:  .7 months ago, we agreed to a trade. And I finished mine, as seen above. He said He'd finish his. I kept reminding him after a month later, so I waited again... he was busy. So I was like "ok~ :3" And 7 months pass. he opens many journals stating "trades open" (I only found this one) So I reminded him again. he quickly shied out.

I dont know what to do here... X__X any help?

he offered to finish it after he finished some commsions, but he keeps taking commisions and getting backed up again.
And now because of incidents like this, I CANT do trades with strangers.

I completely agree, %100. The cancelling after the fact is incredibly bad, and frankly I hope their business suffers as a result. They're going to learn a lesson the hard way.

As I said in an earlier comment, it has~ I had been watching him, and considering asking to commission something, but after this, no way. I just can't really trust someone to handle my transaction if they can't even do a simple sketch trade. And not only that, but their TOS bugs me. So yeah, I hope if anything at all comes from this, that he learns abit about how to deal with transactions, be it a trade or a commission. /end tl;dr

I'm curious, what part don't you like about it?

To me, I really don't like the attitude/tone of voice, but didn't see anything stand out other then no refunds.

Yeah, the tone of voice was a bit off putting to me as well.

I think what bothered me the most was the no refunds policy, in addition to the understanding that it may take anywhere from a several weeks to a few months to complete a commission.
I've never had to request a refund, but emergencies do happen. I'd be very uncomfortable handing over money for that amount of time knowing that it may be a long while before he even got to my commission, without any possibility that I could get it back if something did suddenly pop up.

I hope that makes sense. :( TOS are fantastic in that they protect the artist, but as a commissioner, I'd appreciate a bit of protection myself.

I do disagree with the, several weeks to a few months part. While as a commissioner I can see it being off putting, I think it's also professional to let people know ahead of time that there's a wait. When I open for extra commissions, I write in the journal that I have others to do first, so they'll know there's an extra wait time and they can decide if they find it worth it.

I think it's more then being coupled with no refunds that leaves a bad taste.

Ahh yeah, I think I didn't explain it well enough then. :( I'm totally ok with the artist taking as long as they want on a piece! And while I completely appreciate an artist letting me know his or her schedule, its only that in conjunction with no refunds, regardless of why.
Anywho, I hope that better explains what I mean. I should really try to avoid trying to explain anything after 2Am. It just doesnt work for me, haha :)

Oh! No, that's not what I meant c: I think it's fine if you don't want it to take months. I was just saying it's professional that he's actually letting people know. A lot of people post here because it's been a few months because the artist never mentioned having a huge list or being that slow.

But yes, couplying it with the no refund and attitude, I'd be very turned off as well.
