EXPLAIN:
Hello. My name is Electricfox777 on furaffinity.net The deal for the four pics by Sarcatsic were agreed upon on Jan. 21^st and paid for on Feb. 5^th as can be observed by the screenshot timeline I’ve posted above. After the first pic was completed on Feb. 16^th, Ideas were given for the backgrounds of the second, third, and fourth pics. The second pic was proposed finished on March 30th and a small edit was requested added to the pic. The second and third pics were completed and delivered on April 2^nd. After that I received no contact from Sarcatsic at all, despite sending her one note a month asking for an update on the final pic. She received and read my notes and comments but never answered me back. By July I was beginning to get a bit aggravated at being completely ignored so I left a shout on her page, as well as a comment in a journal she posted advertising commissions. Still no word came from Sarcatsic until October 9^th where she claimed that the receipt she has only shows that I paid for three pics, so three was all she did. I was surprised that she replied at all, but to have such a blatant lie told annoyed me to no end. So I posted a screen shot of my own receipt, showing that I had paid her in full for all four pics, and told her that just because she “believed” me to have only paid for three pics, it doesn’t explain why I’ve been ignored all these months. She replies simply “That's not what mine say, but whatever, here. Take it.” Now in truth I could have left it alone there, but I did not like the pic I was given. As patient as I had been. I did not feel I deserved a half assed pic thrown at me to get me off of her case. But instead of complaining further, I ask for a simple edit. I asked that the eyes and grin of the shadow be added into the pic. She doesn’t respond, and after four days I send her a polite thank you for honoring the arrangement and doing the pic for me. But I also tell her that the wait and being ignored for months was unacceptable and that I’d be posting an A_B against her for these things. She responds with a spiteful note telling me how ungrateful and unprofessional a person and commissioner I am, how I never treated her with any respect, and how I asked for edit after edit to the pics she did for me. I’ll admit I am far from perfect, but you can decide for yourself whether her rant was warranted. The issue may be closed, but I leave this post to warn others who may commission her in the future what I had to go through, and by extension, what they may go through commissioning her. The screencaps have been fixed, but I am having a little trouble with the lj cuts. They bring you into the journal post from the front page, but aren't links at all once you're there.

Hi! You only need to do one LJ cut for the entire post. So where you want to start the cut do (lj-cut text="the screen caps are below") and then put (/lj-cut) at the end of the text you want to be behind it.

Just replace the ( with <

Ok, sorry for being slow, but just so I can be sure, erase the links as they are now, and put what you have above before replacing them and /lj-cut under it?

I think the confusion coming in here is that lj-cuts only act as hyperlinks into your post, itself. They don't link to the hyperlink you put after them. Also, any text you use as the wording to describe the cut disappears when you view the post (after clicking one of the lj-cuts).

If you want hyperlinks instead, take out all but the very first "lj-cut" and the very last "/lj-cut".

Then, before each link, type (a href="http://.....")This is a link to the first note, etc.(/a) Change the ( and ) into < and >, keep the quotation marks "".

Oh well in that case should I just leave things as is since everyone already seems to be used to it?

That's fine. Now that the links are separated, folks can pretty much follow along with your screencaps. You have it nicely organized.

Adding onto the above I have a few suggestions on how you can fix this post.

The LJ cuts to each link do not work as hyperlinks, and the cut text is not visible once the post has been clicked on, so I advise separating your screencaps with each one on a new line. Also a bit of text describing them would be great. Only one LJ cut is required and that could cover the whole entry.

Thank you for the advice. I separated them and it seems to have worked, except that the links only bring you into the journal post from the front page, and aren't links at all once you're there. I would appreciate any other fruits of advice you could give to rectify it and tell me what I'm doing wrong.

She seems to acknowledge that she owes you four images. I can understand how she feels about lots of changes for a $5 commission, but she offered them. If you don't want to do edits and changes on something so low cost, then make sure the commissioner knows that they are not an option.

I'm a bit mystified about her claims about you, Electricfox. In all the times you have commissioned me, I have never had a problem with you.

Thank you Taasla. I don't know what happened to make her so hostile toward me, but she is the first artist I've ever had a problem with which surprises me, considering why I commissioned her in the first place.

I find her comment about X amount of happy customers to be obnoxious. Yes, generally majority of the people who commission you are going to run smoothly, but that doesn't mean that as an artist one doesn't make mistakes and handle something poorly.

You know, I would be more inclined to be forgiving about the long wait and lack of communication if she had owned up to it and apologized to you. This beware is truly deserved.

I've known her for some time and always thought her art was cute. She does have quite a reputation for getting rather snarky though, though I'd not heard of such with her customers before. Just other members on forums etc.

I was thinking the same thing. I knew she was snarky and I never liked her attitude, but I didn't think she'd go so far as to be disrespectful to a customer.

I'm not all that surprised either tbh. She's alright but the rather snarky attitude has always put me off a bit. I'd hoped she was different with her customers but I'm now not so hopeful.

I hate to add another 'advice' comment, but if you'd rather make a hyperlink for each image in question instead of using a cut, the HTML would be < a href="link goes here" > text goes here sans spaces.

I think what sets the nail in the coffin for me is the end of the last message. No matter what - how strange, odd, etc. - your client is using your services for you should never use it as an insult/tool of hurt against them. That really shocked me to see how they were using the purpose of the commission as ammo.

Not gonna lie, changes to super cheap commissions DO get on my nerves too, but she offered the changes - and regardless, that is NO excuse to ignore your commissioners and be so rude in the last message, there is no call for it.
