4. I've admired this artist's work for a long time, so I was super pleased when she said "yes" to working on a new reference sheet for me. She was very prompt, and made sure that I saw WIPs throughout the entire process. She made any changes that I wanted at the sketch stage, and even included a small chibi of my character on the sheet free of charge. What a lovely and unexpected surprise!

She asked if I required any changes- I pointed out a small detail to fix, and the revised version was in my inbox the next day. Yeah, the entire commission took only two days. :D That's almost unheard of, ESPECIALLY for the price and quality offered. I am just suuuuuper impressed. 4. I made a journal asking if anyone would be interested in commissioning me so that I could buy a few records on vinyl; Wolfy had commissioned me previously, and asked if I could do an icon for him. Unfortunately, I was struck with a bit of art block and had a lot of trouble drawing for most of the month. He is an incredibly patient person, and an absolutely lovely commissioner. He didn't mind at all that it'd taken me longer than expected to finish his icon, and commissioned me for another one after I'd finished the first.

Mellosmile was very nice to work with. I purchased clean sketch commission for $18 USD, and the turnaround was extremely quick! I gave them a simple idea and my character sheet and let them have artistic freedom over the image (I'm very loose when it comes to my commissions). Overall I'm very happy and would likely buy a commission from mellosmile in the future should they open up.

I purchased an icon from taintedsweetmeats because I adore their colorful painting style! Their slots go like hotcakes so I was quick to hop on the opportunity. The price was very reasonable ($15.75 USD) and turnaround was very fast. I only gave them my refsheet and let them have total reign over the expression and background colors, so I'm unsure if these sorts of commissions are 'artistic liberty only' or not. I am very, very happy with the finished product and would gladly buy again.

I'm a mod over at Artist Recommend and I was wondering if we had permission to post a link to this thread when it goes up each month. So we would make a mod post posting the link to this thread and then add each artist mentioned to our tag lists.

We're not trying to bogart your content at all, please don't think that; but you guys have a much larger memberbase and get many more posts in this thread when it goes up than we ever do in a month. This way at least we can add the artists mentioned here to our tags with a link to these posts.
(if we could get your permission rather than linking just the entire thread I would love to be able to posts the artists's name and and then a link directly to the reply regarding them, but again we are not trying to step on AB's toes at all).

We'd really appreciate it over at AR, though, and it would be great to have the artists praised here to show up in our tags as good businessfolk.

I don't mind working with another community to spread the word about good artists and customers. Linking to our content is just fine. Its the copying and pasting (without linking to the original content) that we had issues with from copycat communities. And adding them to your tags is great, since we don't tag positive reviews with names over here.

4. I'd actually commissioned Plaguedog 5 years ago, but due to one of FA's security lapses, I completely nuked my notes. PD went on hiatus, and since I'd not only foolishly nixed any correspondence but not sank a significant amount of money into the commission, I wrote it off as a loss.

However, this year, I received a note from PD out of the blue, politely and professionally apologizing for her sudden disappearance and asking for updated info (she offered a refund, as well, but I told her I'd be more than happy with just art). I was extremely impressed that she returned to settle such old debts, and the piece I received was worth far more than the original price. Clearing such an old queue, that could've easily been lost to the ether, speaks volumes of her character, IMO.

She's also incredibly sweet and very talented individual. I'd gladly work with her again!

She is an outstanding artist who will do her best even if the customer is pleased with what she produced. I will continue to keep going back to this girl not only because of her work ethic but because of her unique and desirable style.

4. I commissioned Z about 18 days ago for an iron artist sketch. Even though I don't feel that wait was long at all, she upgraded it to a beautiful lineart for free. Very pleased with how she captured my character and the extra work put into the piece was more than generous. This was not the first transaction I've had with her nor will it be the last, she is very trustworthy and works to a consistent high quality with equal amounts of effort and love put into her commissioned work that her personal pieces have.

I had expected them to take at least a week, but to my surprise, I got a sketch within hours and a finished product within a DAY.

4. I have had two very satisfactory completed transactions and one currently ongoing with her so far! The first completed one was a spur-of-the-moment thing where she sold a character design to me, I made an offer and we agreed on the price and I received the full res image the next day!

Definitely worth the price, even when not on sale. Her stylization of the characters I asked for was amazing and exceeded my expectations entirely. I highly recommend this artist because she gives such amazing quality art in a short amount of time and is a wonderful person to work with. She's on my top list of artists to be a repeat commissioner with.
