I need advice regarding a troublesome user.

Hi all. I recently took on an art trade in exchange for a ref sheet of my character.

They got someone else to draw my character (since they can't draw themeselves, but wanted art from me), and I will be drawing theirs. I started on my half of the trade today via a LiveStream so the tradee knows good and well I'm doing my half. Their half of the trade was completed quickly so no worries there.

Well, also today, I found out that this person has a really bad history of being incredibly rude and demanding and selfish to other artists. Some people on Nabyn noted me and told me this and that I should stay well away from this person. This person has also gotten banned on FurAffinity and had created ban-evasion accounts which have been banned too. On their deviantART account, they also cuss out and complain at people who thank them for watches/faves. I don't believe this person is a troll, just incredibly rude.

Example: http://i.imgur.com/7xa5h.png

I also found out that this person is going around telling people they'll put me on here just because they think I was "avoiding them" for the last two days (when in reality I have been busy and not much in a IMing mood). They have also been going around saying I was a "con artist" and that I'm not planning on drawing them anything. The person claims I am his friend (I have only know this person for a few days!) so maybe if I block this person, they'll try to use the "I thought you were my friend" excuse. They are also a liar, claiming I said things when I did not.

Unfortunately, I didn't know this at the time I accepted his offer, otherwise I would have told them no.

What should I do? Should I finish the trade, and just remove him and block them? Or should I post them here? My friend also told me that he had a really awful experience with that guy as well and he wouldn't mind coming here and telling his half of the story. I have screenshots of the evidence proving that this person is disrespectful to artists and some chat logs.

EDIT: This guy is starting to make block evade accounts and note me and is making call out journals on these accounts. He is also IMing my friend and attacking her as well.

Just finish the trade to get them out of your hair. It sounds like with you they may just have become impatient, have they been waiting long after 'doing' their half?

Since we don't allow proxy posts their behaviour towards other people isn't a factor in what would make a post from you valid, and this all sounds just like petty drama honestly (that's my opinion as a third party based on what you wrote, not a judgement as a moderator. That would require a more full account based on solely your problems with them including evidence to verify it.)

I second shukivengeance's suggestion of finishing your trade so that you can be done with that person.

That way the transaction will be over and then you can safely block them to avoid future contact with them, and they won't have the "but you didn't finish your half of the trade!" card to pull against you.

Also, if your friend's experience with this person involved a commission/art trade and he has evidence that he is willing to show, you could tell him to make his own beware post here.

imo - finish it, block them.

Nope, that screencap would have ended it for me.
I'd cut it off, no trade. If he flips his shit, post him here.

What a horrible attitude

Yeah, echoing the motion to finish and block.

Though I am curious as to who it is, simply so I could avoid doing business with them. But I understand if that's now allowed ):

I'd like to know who he is so I can block him as well.

Did you get 'their half'? If yes, finish it and just block them.

If not, do you know who is doing it? Maybe note them and cancel, or ask to draw for them instead.

yeah, if your half of the trade isn't done yet I'd cancel that right away. that person isn't worth your time.

I'd just finish it, upload to PB or another image hosting site- no point in a public posting, followed by blocking them and just being done with them.

And I'd get your friend to post his experiences- this sounds like someone I'd /never/ want to deal with.

Wow, sounds a lot like a situation my hubby got in to a while back. He did finally get his half of the trade, but it took a lot of pushing and putting his foot down.

It looks like you may have misread this post, since the OP has received his half of the trade but not yet done his own.

[identity profile] shukivengeance.livejournal.com 2012-03-09 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
From the first paragraph; "Their half of the trade was completed quickly so no worries there."

[identity profile] mgsfriedchicken.livejournal.com 2012-03-09 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Finish, then block.
Encourage your friend to post his experiences here so others know not to deal with him.

Oh, got it.

[identity profile] genkigami.livejournal.com 2012-03-09 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yikes, bad attitude ahoy.

Finish ASAP and block. Although I will say when they IMed you ignoring was not the best thing to do. Even if you're not in a talky mood, just sending one reply with "hey, sorry, really busy right now. Can you hit me up in an hour/tomorrow/later/yourtimeframehere? Thanks!" and leaving it at that can curb disaster.

I just internet stalk found his page and wooooow that "warning" about thanking for watches/favs.

500thing everyone else with "finish ASAP, block forever."

[identity profile] syrusb.livejournal.com 2012-03-09 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreeing with the finish the trade and block them. Be simple and to the point when you deliver the image, don't mention the block, just do it.

And also? Wow.

Geez o.o Nothing I can say that hasn't been said multiple times but goodness, that is no way to act, period. To be honest, that response you posted from them to another artists warrants a "do not do business with" person. I do hope all goes well for you hun.

I saw some comments by the person in question, and... SHEESH. This guy deserves a full-out beware, IMO. He seems like he would be a very rude commissioner.

Pretty much what everyone else is saying, though- finish your end of the trade, and block.

PLEASE! PLEASE DO!

I have so much to add (yes, I know who it is)
