WHO: Fancy-Fancy

WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/fancy-fancy

WHAT: Two Milkcrown commissions Fancy and I had agreed to share.

WHEN: Beginning in June of 2013 to Present

PROOF: Screenshots of notes. I also have Skype logs and Paypal info, but this should be sufficiently damning.

I ask him if he's received my money.

Fancy tells me that he has received my money.

Fancy confirms that he's sent the money to Milkcrown.

Fancy shows me the sketch that he received from Milkcrown for approval.

At this point, several months go by. Every time I ask Fancy about the status of the commissions, he dodges my questions. Eventually, I begin to suspect he's stolen my money, and I ask send a few notes to Milkcrown to gather evidence.

This is pretty damning evidence.

Milkcrown explains that Fancy specifically requested the pictures NOT be posted.

EXPLAIN: Click below for my side of the story.

I'll do my best to keep this brief.

Fancy-Fancy and I began communicating early in June 2013. We hit it off big time, and began to flirt. I'll give him this: he's very charming. I was infatuated with him. So much so that when he offered to split two Milkcrown commissions with me for half the cost (85$ total for me), I agreed. He said that he had already paid Milkcrown, so all I had to do was pay him the difference. It took a week or so to iron out the details of what we wanted, and then I sent him my money. A while later, I received the sketch, as normal. Everything looked fine.

But then weeks went by, which turned into months. I noticed several times that MilkCrown was selling more commissions, though mine had not been finished. Fancy-Fancy was no longer in any of Milkcrown's commission-status lists. Suspecting that something had happened, I asked Fancy about it. But he dodged my question. I asked him again and again over the next couple of months, but always he dodged the questions. Finally, I asked him bluntly if he'd stolen my money. At that point, he blocked me, deleted my comments, and deleted my shouts.

I sent notes to Milkcrown to try to figure out what had happened. Milkcrown tells me that Fancy received the commissions that he had paid for and that he had specifically requested those commissions not be posted or shared.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UPDATE: I've been in contact with Milkcrown since I wrote this journal. He has shared with me the pictures that Fancy got. I'll include them below- they are Not Safe for Work.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8xhkez01caoiut5/fancy%20fancy%20commission2%20color.png
https://www.dropbox.com/s/6cbugh6liyc5mqh/fancy%20fancy%20comission%202%20full%20color%202.png
As you can see, though I paid for half of each of these, neither contains my characters.
UPDATE2: I have been approached by someone else who claims they were given the same deal as me and also paid Fancy money, which means these commissions may be 100% stolen, not 50%. I'll have screencaps as soon as they're available to me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Recently, I've discovered that I may not the only one he's done this to. I've found no less than 8 different people (and probably more) that have had issues with Fancy-Fancy in the past, and at least 1 other who had been offered the same split-a-milkcrown-commission deal, but didn't take it.

Fancy-Fancy is a thief. The screencaps above prove it, and others should know.

UPDATE: Click below to see my confrontation with Fancy, on 2/13/14

Fancy-Fancy has finally gotten back in contact with me.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ek6l4bmbms9yik4/ff1.jpg

After our conversation, he unblocked my Furaffinity in order to send me this.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7eo80ebqbg93mjl/apology.jpg
I replied, and promptly blocked him. I hope that we'll see him here on A.B. soon.

Clearly, Fancy-Fancy is not interested in resolution. I absolutely believe he will continue to scam whoever he can get away with stealing from. Be extremely cautious with this individual.

FINAL UPDATE:
Thank you, everyone who helped me with my awareness campaign on Furaffinity. My strategy consisted of journals promoting awareness of Best Practices in commissioning with links to this Artist's Beware article as an example. Unfortunately, but understandably, some readers became upset and felt very passionately about this issue and confronted the Fancy directly. This was against FA ToS and CoC, and I have never condoned it. But I understand it.
Fancy-Fancy has returned the 85$ to me through paypal today, 2/14/14. This particular issue is resolved, but I would absolutely encourage anyone else who has been affected by this person to step forward, screen cap their own evidence, create their own articles, and continue to Beware.

[I will post screen caps here of proof of repayment and Fancy's final words on the subject as soon as I can]

That's what I am surprised about. If that were me he had effectively stolen for, I would feel disgusted. And also insulted.

Absolutely. I wouldn't want anything to do with them or their gift.
Both would be tarnished for life.

Seeing how Milkcrown is willing to work with you you could possibly get Milkcrown to demand that the work he did gets taken down. It wouldn't make much of a difference but it would send a message that scamming isn't right and that Fancy doesn't have any right to that art (same goes with the other gift piece)

I am sure he will be using some sock puppet account to move along.

Do not use this community to start up a crowd to send tickets and viritol at Fancy-Fancy. We are NOT a community for this at all.

And while I cannot speak for FA staff, this kind of thing is not cool for them(or any large team of moderators) to deal with.

Report him and go, but put away the pitchforks on his user page.

As you have admitted to going against community rules, this is your warning for doing so.

This is your warning.

Hi! I'm going to be screening this because it appears you've left Fancy's real name in the paypal screencap. Please feel free to blur out such information (along with email addresses if they aren't publicly available) and resubmit your comment!

I had an issue with Fancy-Fancy a year and half ago that was pretty much the same ordeal as the OP! Went halves on a commission, never got the art, and didn't get my money back (directly from Fancy-Fancy anyway.)

Both me and him went halves on a picture with Rajii on FA, but after the sketch was finished I was told that by Fancy-Fancy that Rajii cancelled the commission and that Rajii was being a jerk about it...for mysteeerious reasons! Fancy at the time told me he didn't get the refund at that time from Rajii, so after a month I sent this note to Fancy-Fancy:

http://i.imgur.com/cT6C3Eq.jpg

To which I contacted Rajii directly and got THESE notes:

http://i.imgur.com/ZYJf6sS.jpg

Which included Rajii giving me THIS PayPal screen shot of him returning the money on the same day the commission was canceled and the reason why:

http://i.imgur.com/pEoE25l.jpg (names and addresses are blurred)

( Side note: Rajii is amazing. Fancy-Fancy went out of his way to cause drama for him because he was having his own personal problem seeing his friends getting art. I'm sad that I can't get the picture done again, but this was in NO WAY Rajii's fault! Someday I hope I can work with Rajii again, because he went above and beyond to help me out with this. SUCH CLASS! <3 )

At this point I've learned that not only did Fancy-Fancy deliberately cause my/our picture to be cancelled, but also lied about not getting the refund back. LITERALLY stole $70 from me! To which I sent these notes:

http://i.imgur.com/uwMIITa.jpg

10 days after those notes I got my money back from MY AMAZING FRIEND iMeow on FA since Fancy-Fancy "didn't have a PayPal."

My situation is a bit more strange because I did get gift art from him before all of this, did art for free for him, aaaaand in the end I still got my refund in some way.

HOWEVER... it's disgusting to hear that he could do this so many times and, not only keep doing it, but not feel remorse for it. I sincerely hope that people watch out for him, or at most artists refuse to do business with him. He deserves no credit or admiration after all of this has come to light.

Bit too late. Got Dragoneer and couple admins on the case already.

Sorry for breaking your rules, but there wasn't any progress being done on this, as this person has been doing this for ages no matter the tickets filed. Raising awareness broad and quick was the only option, hence I used your community as part of that task. Sorry.

The investigation is now apparently under way, so while I broke your rules and some of FA's as well, I feel accomplished for doing so.

I take responsibility for my actions. Sorry for the trouble.

It would make sense that Fenix-Fox is Fancy-Fancy, but is there anyway to prove that :U Why would he use 2 different accounts to get artwork from someone like Ryunwoofie?

I can only speculate and rumor why reeeeally

Unfortunately, this isn't quite strong enough evidence for us to be able to allow you to make this claim. If you can find stronger evidence, you are free to share, but for now we're going to have to screen this. We just can't chance getting an innocent involved, I hope you understand.

Here is one instance from FA user Swayzie involving FA artist Eelyak. Fancy stole money from Swayzie similiar to OP's ordeal:

some gift! seems like the fenix-fox is now getting harassed because of it... something that would be cleared up if fancy-fancy would just come forward and apologize/right his wrongs. sigh.

It's nice to see something is happening.

I was someone who paid full for a milkcrown commission. Though Fancy-Fancy has outed me for saying that all the commissions I have agreed to pay half on, that I actually agreed to pay all of it! Which I did not, so sadly I won't be getting some money back since he blocked me as well and took me out of all his communication lines.

I'm just glad he's in the heat now, he really deserves it.

... FancyFancy finally sent him his money back. Thank you EVERYONE for listening and spreading the word. Keep sending in those ABs - with enough tenacity, they really do come through.

Thanks again, everyone.

Unless he is a mastermind at role-playing and disguise by the way both of them speak and do business with me it feels like they are completely separate people to me. But that's my personal opinion.
