I hope I'm posting this in the right place, but I do recall this ebay user about a year ago for making a blatant copy of this www.furrhappens.com/index.php Furhappens costume. Well the ebay user newcostumes2008 is back at it with the same costume, cgi.ebay.com/new-GREY-WOLF-FOX-Mascot-costume-foam-head-high-grade-/170371305522 . Now they are ripping off Mixed Candy with this copy of this mixedcandymascots.com/gallery/v/wolves/blackwolf2/4.jpg.html costume vs. cgi.ebay.com/new-black-wolf-only-foam-head-Mascot-costume-/170403506167. I haven't informed either maker nor have I reported the ebay user, I'm not sure what to report this as. For now Im just putting this out there.

Can't do anything about it. The makers know this already, plus those chinese heads/suits are plain ugly.

I approved this so that others could see what was going on.

Unfortunately since it is China, it can be very hard (impossible) to get them to stop unless they have done something to tick off the Big Boys which they did.

I passed this company onto some buddies of mine at Disney since they are making copies of their characters. They DO have some pull in China and can probably get these yo-yos kicked off of Ebay.

EDIT: Also if one of these shows up in the US, there is a heads up as to where it came from.

I've seen the ones copied from Furrhappens. There was one at Otakon last year, it was the brown wolf or something, they're dumblooking. A bunch of people were messing around with him but I think its just because it looked ridiculous and not because it looked as cool as that guy thought.

I hope the Disney folks can swing a bigger hammer than us mere mortals.

This is kinda old news... The makers have known for a while. I saw one of the suits at FWA 2010. I've seen pictures of some of the others floating around as well.

Yeah the makers involved know. This person has made like a half dozen accounts just keeps starting over and over reselling the same handful of ripoffs.

Glad to at least make the community aware (again) of it if anyone wasn't, considering I still see these suits at cons every once in a while, and while their buyers shouldn't be hassled for what they probably didn't know or realise, the less support these guys get the better!~

I agree that we need to make the community aware. I also strongly agree that the people who buy them should not be harassed for buying them. They probably don't know about this. They are just happy to have a fur suit.

Kinda annoying (and not as good looking as the originals) but even if they were in America I don't think there's anything seriously /wrong/ with what they're doing. You're allowed to make similar stuff unless a character is trademarked as far as I know.

As others have already said, the maker is aware. At first they were also using the pictures stolen from the original website. So at least now, while the product itself is a ridiculous copy of the originals, the pictures at least are of the real product being sold.
But from what I understood, forcing the seller to use real pictures of the products was as far as eBay would go legally speaking. Which IMO is still an improvement, as little as it may seem.

but yeah, really sucks. It's both flattering and infuriating to be copied. : /

I find this interesting, and stomach turning. They say that imitation is the highest form of flattery. Personally, I think their design SUCKS and is a bad rip off copy of the excellent work of MixedCandy. It's always hard to attack overseas companies if you aren't from there. Personally, I wouldn't buy their crap if they paid me to make a bid. lol. I would rather have one from MixedCandy. lol

He's plain enough to be mistaken for something generic rather than stolen. I'm sure the BBC would want to have it removed in the coming months, especially in October-early November, but I haven't succeeded in finding the right contact info on their website. If anyone does know the right address, please do alert them.
