So after trying to ask mechasheep for an update 2 weeks after the initial problem she never responded yet read my note. Unfortunately that was 9 days ago and I'm still waiting on said update/response from her. I called my bank (Wells Fargo) monday to issue a chargeback and then paypal to let them know of the situation. I am kind of worried as I've never done a chargeback before how it exactly works and if they'll be able to get my money back for sure since I paid Sep. 28th, 2010 :/.

Any information or further advice is greatly appreciated!

Edit:  I sent mechasheep a note telling her that if I wasn't shown proof that my suit was being done Id file a chargeback claim with my bank. She responded to my ignored note from last night and said that she would accept a deadline and possibly even have it done a week before then. So I told her that i wanted it a month from today (its very possible to have a suit done in a month or less, Shadowsani had mine done in about 3 weeks with amazing quality) and that I wanted frequent photographic updates. She read it but didnt respond to this last note.

This note in question was the one I sent last night asking if I could request a deadline (which was initially ignored) she responded today after I told her Id be taking legal action if something wasnt done.

Hello,
I was hoping i wouldnt have to post to this but i really need some advice on what to do. In october i commissioned mechasheep for a fullsuit at the price of $600. She seemed eager to keep me updated and said that i needed to send in a DTD and shed start right away. I sent it off with delivery confirmation, but since shes located in canada it didnt update anymore once out of the country. I contacted her in late november asking if she had received it and she never replied, in fact all my attempts to ask her polite questions were repeatedly ignored (they still are) and she is active on FA, because she faves stuff every day and my notes show that they are read.

I got in contact with another person who commissioned a suit from her and they asked for WIP pictures, on it which they never received, on their suit which was allegidly pretty much done. they obviously are kinda at loss because she keeps ignoring them too.

I also noticed that other people who commissioned her for art quite some time ago are also waiting for replies that never come, if you look at her journals and whatnot.

So what should i do? Should i open a paypal dispute or is it too late? Or is there another means to go about this?

Thank you for your help,
Neonr0se

oh I remember this.

Glad you issued the chargeback, it was definitely a smart thing to do. Hopefully she learns through the chargeback fees such behavior is unacceptable.

I've never engaged a chargeback from my bank through a proxy bank like paypal, so I've no idea what will happen.

You have 6 months to issue a verbal chargeback, after 6 months the chargeback must be made in writing. The maximum time allowed to perform a chargeback is a year from date of purchase.

Has the note been marked as read?? Just curious.
This sucks, I was hoping she wouldn't do this.. very disappointing...
I'll harass her for a refund of my money too, or the mats of what she bought. Weather your busy or not, it's kinda irresponsible.. :\

I wouldn't worry about it yet. Paypal would have to dispute the chargeback. If they did, you'd bring all evidence forth to your bank and their department would decide if the chargeback is valid.

I just sent her a note basically saying "I've seen you on AB, you can prove to me and your customers that you've been doing something so I can trust you, or refund me/mail me the materials for the eyes"

If she doesn't refund or send the mats, expect a post from me too. :P

Yah I payed her back in Oct-Nov. So all I can do is harass her, and threaten another AB post. :P

Lets just hope she responds.
I'd suggest telling her you posted her here. IDK if you told her or not, maybe that'll get her in gear too.

I have no idea what a Chargeback is and I don't know if it's worth $30 lol.

I approached mechasheep about a trade around the end of December, and she seemed really enthusiastic about it, but that was the last I ever heard from her. I did half of the work, but then I saw the last post about her here and decided to send her a note to check up on her, and she read it but didn't respond. So a week later, I sent another one, basically saying that if she wanted to drop the trade, I'd be okay with it, but I just wanted to be informed so I'd know whether to finish the work or not. She read that one and ignored it too. :/ So I've pretty much written it off as a lost cause. At least all I did was lineart.

It's too bad, because I was really excited about that trade. I just wish she were better with communication.

My mom called PayPal and they put a dispute on the money I sent her. They said it can take as long as 60 days to get it resolved, but that's cool with me. $400 is a lot of money. =x

I paid in November. I would call them again. =/

Curious if there is any update about this. Has she responded??
At this point I'm getting a refund from her too because of her lack of 'progress'..

FFF that sucks.. well at least your getting the mats, and that's a good chunch of your $$$. :C

Weather she refunds me or not I'm gonna add a post here about her.. if she's having SUCH a problem she should fucking SAY SO and not disappear and blatantly ignore notes.....

Make sure she sends a tracking number or something w/ your stuff, you don't want that getting lost, and you definitely want PROOF that she sent you something...

ALSO she should GIVE you a partial refund or something ANWAY if you paid in full and didn't need the full $600 for the mats you SHOULD get something back... if not.. well that's theft and u can add that to your next post...

I would ask to be shown receipts, or screen shots of receipts of things bout online to prove that she did in fact spend that much. I think it might cut it close, IDK.

I know for a fact that she can get foam for free. So IDK.

I also think paypal can't help u at this point. I know contacting them online is one thing, but I've heard wonders with calling them. You could try that. :\

Ok so my mom called paypal and they issued a charge on her account. She just IMed me saying it was stupid and selfish if I didn't remove it and her life is horrible and blah blah blah. I'm not going to remove the chargeback.

Not sure if I got it back, the issues are still open. (since i sent 2 payments, one of $300 and one of $100) I'd call paypal and ask them what they did.

I love it when people actually have consequences for their bad actions, and they're so surprised about it that they freak out like that. In the real world, you can't take somebody's money and run off with it. She's just dealing with more real world consequences for a change. Maybe she'll learn a lesson.
