 I guess this isn't really a beware since there's no point in warning anyone about an artist who to the best of my knowledge has disappeared from FA/The internet in general.

I paid her $15 for a badge back in June of 2010 in this journal: www.furaffinity.net/journal/1460992/
Following that, she posted several journals taking more requests and commissions. Finally in September 2010 she stopped posting altogether.

I tried to contact her via FA in January of this year and have had no luck with that.

If anyone has an AIM or email for her, I would like to try to contact her that way, although I'm sure it wouldn't do any good. 



Edit: Since several people have let me know that she has been going through hard times and is still planning to/has already worked on the art, I take back the beware part of this. I will be patient. I understand what it's like to need to worry about other things before art stuff. Thanks, guys!

she's a close friend of mine, and she's been going through some really tough life shit but she does plan to make good on all of her commissions.

I know it's not a real excuse, but I've been in touch with her lately. Her life got pretty screwed up over those months since she stopped posting, and she since had to move back in with her parents. She also abandoned her facebook during that time too- something about a lot of stress from both places at that time. She mentioned recently getting back into drawing ((since she ended up not drawing since then up until now)) and finally getting back to her commissions.
I know it doesn't really make it much of an excuse but I just wanted you to know ^^; I commissioned her for a badge around the same time you commissioned her. I saw a pic of it so it's all done- just been waitin' for it to be mailed.

For what it's worth, I used to be really good friends with her. Unfortunately we haven't been in contact for a while, but I'm going to assume it's the same stuff she has been going through. Of course I'm not going to give details about all of that, but she does have a lot of bad shit she has been having to deal with.

Just be patient. From what I've experienced she -always- gets back to people, even if it takes months and months on end.

I know she's been having a really rough time; I think she was doing a lot of moving around, had a bad break up, not really been able to draw, anxiety things. When I spoke to her last she said she definitely was going to finish everything she had to do (I have an art trade with her) and felt really bad about disappearing like she did. She contacted me on skype, if you have her skype thing.

shes been dealing with drama and having some tough moments in life that shes facing.
dont worry, she will get done with the item(s) and send them out to you ASAP!!!!
she owes me some bits of items and doodles and I have delt with stuff like this before and all you can do is just

I'm in the same boat. We used to talk a lot but then, she got pre-occupied with other things. Which is fine and all but I often found myself worrying about how she is/was doing. But I recently caught up with her, so that's good.

From what I've noticed about her, she's quite a trooper. :3 And she always gives back when she's behind on art. It took her a couple years to get me a shrinky-dink necklace and she made a whole bunch more art. It wasn't necessary but it was so damn nice of her. <3

_{Haha I know I'm just adding to the pile of comments (and that you're already aware/understand the situation and are patient about it~); but what everyone else has said is true.
Rae has indeed been through a lot of stuff the past few months, and she is definitely not the "scam artist" that people on her FA are apparently making her out to be. Life got rough and her art had to take a seat on the back-burner for a bit. After being gone so long, she's trying to think of the 'right way' to come back and make an apology and make right of her wrongs. c: She'll come through in the end, even if it takes a little longer than you first expected it to. She's a sweetheart and I can't imagine her trying to jip people.
She has, however, been made aware of this post and will come in to clear the air/respond for herself soon so you know it's not all second-hand talk.}

My typical comment that while everyone else knows that the artist was having "issues", you the customer did not. It takes only a few minutes to drop a mass email letting people know that a deadline will be missed. It takes a little longer but certainly not a ton of time to refund through paypal. Free internet can be obtained at a local public library.
And of course if this was anything else but furry art commissions (like a college course, a job at McDonalds or even an actual art related business) not showing up, not calling your boss/prof and missing multiple deadlines will get you fired or fail you.

sorry but they dont mean a thing if the artist hasnt told the customer. i respect that shes having issues, but not notifying the customer or offering a refund is very unprofessional. i find this a very valid beware and i thank you for posting it.

Hmmm, that's so curious. So what you're saying is that in spite of having access to the internet through well known public means, she STILL hasn't even contacted any of the people who have given her money for art? She must be really distracted with her job. Wait, no. Her school work. Wait, not that either. Her family? Ok, not even. What is it that's been keeping her so busy? I digress. Life happens. Last year my home with all my belongings burned down; I contracted a serious, life-threatening infection; my cousin was shot to death by police; and I'm still fighting with the army to pay me the wages I earned while on duty. Yeah, I had some problems, but I didn't miss work, I didn't flunk out of school, and I sure as hell didn't skip the fucking planet. I'm really amazed that people are saying it will be ok. No one would have said that about Starfinder, and she and burgerbaby have done the same thing. BTW, she doesn't have anxiety, or at least no more than any other individual in the world. She might as well claim to have Asperger's syndrome. Anyway, she has several commission lists that date years back, most of which I sure as hell hope have given up hope, so good luck waiting for your half-rate purple husky clone art.

I just wanted to leave a comment assuring everyone that I'm still alive, doing much better (still sorting some things out), but I have access to a computer again and will be dishing out commissions and bonus gifts over the next few weeks here. I've contacted all my commissioners and we are currently sorting things out. Any questions or comments, please direct them to my FA.

And I wanted to apologize up front with everyone for all of this. It was not my intention to screw anyone over and I fully intend to make good on my word. After all of the art is finished however, I don't think I will be taking furry commissions anymore except for the occasional friend requested commish. I just don't have time or the capacity for that anymore with the kind of shit going on in my life right now. Hopefully everyone understands, but if you don't that's fine. I wanted to notify everyone anyway and I'm sorry I didn't get to it sooner.
