After an anon source decided to reply to an email i sent seeing if they could convince jace to start I was told I should demand my money back. Since the 20th of october about every 4 days I sent him an email demanding the money with no more excuses. I gave him a week deadline last thursday to reply and today he finally got back to me.

He also doesn't own a spell checker, and has an phobia of grammer.

Keep it up. He can whinge all he wants but he needs to make good on his workload. Otherwise it's theft, and no amount of "dying grandparents" changes that.
However don't threaten to sue. Either do it or don't. If you threaten and then DON'T your threats lose credibility. Not to mention it's illegal.

Then my suggestion is to do it. Yes it is a pain in the butt time wise, but if you have strong feelings about this then by all means go for it. Print out all your e-mail transactions, including anything YOU have sent to HIM from your e-mail box. That way when he brings up the terms, "Harassing messages" you can prove that your actions were above board.

It's ok for an artist to be slow, if they contact their clients, show what progress is done, and keep them in the loop. I've never had a problem with my clients (I'm not the fastest pencil on this earth) because I keep them informed. It's time that a certain part of this community get taken to task for the amount of money that is ripped on a regular basis.

I can barely read that. lol.
I'd say keep demanding your picture, or your money back.
I was curious how long he's taken?

I wouldn't reccomend trying to sue him. If it's a $300+ commission, I could understand but with the court/lawyer fees it's not worth sueing for a $50 commission.

Someone needs to make a list of good artists to commission, and the crappy ones so commissioners know who to avoid XD

I agree with Dustmeat. It reads so badly it’s almost as though he were taking the micky. . .
I’d be surprised if you ever got your money back out of this one.
You seem to have a lot of bad luck with commissioners. Why don’t you stick to Furbid-SF users with consistently positive ratings, or share recommendations with a friend?
