[identity profile] kerstin-orion.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] artists_beware
The person previously reported re-posted their journal, and I see several community members commenting in it. Some of these members are obviously aware of the posts about this person here, because they have commented in those posts, too.

Stop. Just stop. While you may have originally found out about this guy's attitude via another source, once you are aware it is on Artists_Beware, you need to stop posting. It does nothing to help the artist get the money owed. All it does is pressure this person to move to another user name and get free art from more people before they realize who it is. In addition, harrasing people is against both LJ and FA's Terms of Service.

Consider this an official warning to everyone who has posted in the new journal. If a moderator sees you blatantly breaking the rule again, you will get a two-week ban from the community.

Wish it never had to come to this.

truth be told, giving him that much attention is kind of like giving him a reward :P

That was my thought too. xD
He obviously feeds off the attention, why give him more of what he wants?

Someone else pointed out that everyone trolling him is becoming just as bad as he is.

I saw so many comments on his previous journal, too :\ I get that it's hard to fight the urge to jump on the guy, but the mod even made a post warning about it. What in the world would make you think it's a good idea to heckle him anyway?

That's about what I figure, too -- if he wasn't trolling when he made his "offer" earlier, he sure is now.

Don't get me wrong, I hope like everybody else that the guy gets permabanned. But the people who are spamming his comments section don't make it any easier for Neer to justify the ban. Rather, it might convince him to hand out several tempbans instead.

Unfortunately, people were making journals about this guy and tweets.

Honestly, I think one warning was enough.

I don't think spreading the word about him is 'unfortunate'. People need to know, so they don't get suckered into losing their time and sanity. Look at SF...she's been able to rip off many people because the word just didn't get out far enough, and there are still plenty of people willing to throw hundreds of dollars her way because they don't know her reputation.

The "unfortunately" comes into play when people go heckling this guy, instead of just quietly banning him from their FA page, and putting him on their blacklist (and telling their friends to do so as well).

Heh, that's not what my "unfortunately" meant. Sorry about that. IA that word needs to be spread, but it's hard to pin down who is coming from where. It would be bad if someone who hasn't checked a_b in a while, but is known to post here, got sent to this guy via other means.

I agree; I think he got what he wanted. When you try to correct him, it's like talking to a brick wall.

Thanks for a reminder of the rules! I did link to this journal in my FA journal with a warning to artists about him, but I made sure NOT to link to the guy's page directly, and included a link to your mod warning in this community as well, so folks would know not to heckle him.

Ah, ok! Thanks for the clarification... I understand, and yeah, you're right.

Jeez, people. Just block him and forget about him. Harassment is going both ways and is accomplishing nothing.

Too true! I'm already bored of his attitude and all the back-and-forth trolling on his journal and such. Give it a rest, guys!

I agree. People didn't seem to realize that they're talking to a brick wall. Just blacklist him and get over it.

Not gonna lie, I was so tempted to comment on that guy's page. Everything he said was downright enraging.

You know what I did instead? I closed the tab and did something else instead. Frankly, more people need to start getting into that.

It was hard for me to learn to do that, but since becoming a parent it's like, do I really want to spend my very little freetime today being pissed at someone on the internet? Suddenly clicking x is a lot easier lol. I wish more people asked themselves that.

Or! Like Craig Ferguson says, does this need to be said? Does it need to be said by me? Does it need to be said by me right now?

This. I did the exact same, despite the fact I was practically spitting fire. "Don't let that screen fool you! There are reprocussions even on the internet at times." and that includes getting banned from a very helpful community.

I do apologize -- I had a few drinks and did leave a "hahaha" on something someone else said in the comment section on his post -- not directly to him, but I realized later I needed to hide it. I forgot. Is it still up?

I'm gonna write that Ferguson quote down on a Post-it and stick it to my monitor.
