Recently I have noticed that someone I consider a friend, has been posting up some art and saying they are taking commissions. Well after looking at the art they have been posting I noticed something was right and went looking. I found the originals

I am not going to do over lays seeing as how it is very apparent of the copying.

She has posted both of these to her Facebook as well and After finding the Sword Girl one I left a comment on the picture saying "Very nice retrace and recolor. Might be a good idea to give credit to the original artist though." After that I was unfriended and blocked. That night I talked to her on Yahoo Messenger and she told me that it was her roommate that had posted it up and a "pet" that had made it for her.

Now the "Nia and Simon" one. I saw her making this one at Fur Fright, though It was mostly done and I didn't get a good look at it. Just today did I find the original after looking for the Sword Girl.

I also went onto her FA page and went to leave a comment on one of her fursuit picture only to find out I have been added to her block list.

EDIT: I will be talking to her about both of these and see if she finally confesses. Will post my results.

EDIT #2 : She took down the "Nia and Simon" one after I am guessing a few posts made about her tracing. Did not get a chance to see them for myself.

EDIT #3 : She has said that Sword Girl was a gift and given a name along with it. As for "Nia and Simon" she has said that the original was given to her by someone who wanted a commission and was asked to trace over it.

EDIT #4 : After a long talk with Ravi, she has promised never to let something like this happen again and will do research on any pictures she is given and will seek out the original artist to get permission.

If you can, I'd screencap those two pieces she 'did'. Just in case she finds out about this and does a gallery wipe.

It was VERY difficult understanding this person during the entire transaction. They refused to use caps or any punctuation of any time. It was almost a transaction I didn't want to go through with..

Sucks to see a character I designed used in such a manner. :C

You have no idea, lol. Most e-mails I had to re-read multiple times, or ask her to reiterate what she meant. UGH I can say the money outweighed the annoyance. She paid quickly and fully so I just sent it and ended all conversation.

To be honest, these are less of a trace and more gross abuse of photoshop. Looks more like paintbucketing all over, you can see bits of the original image peek out from under all of that and the terrible fact that there are artifacts (and some nonsensical blurring especially in the second one) all over the damn images. If it was really her work and she was proud of it - I doubt she'd let all of that work go to waste under a layer of unattractive pixelation!

Quite frankly, all of the "drawings" in her gallery look traced, some likely from porno photos.

Yeah, it's not a trace. It's a draw-over. A terrible one, at that. If you look at the parts she added on the lines are wobbly as shit. She isn't capable of reproducing the rest of those lines -- it's not a trace, it's a horrible Frankenstein job. And yeah, the other pic is literally just like a bad invert. I like that she flipped it like that would keep people from noticing.

It's hard to tell- I see what you mean, but some of them do include amateur anatomy mistakes that she wouldn't get AS wrong if she was tracing from a photo.

I would say she likely frankensteins and eyeballs things- plus, she draws on livestream, so it would be difficult to trace when people are watching. I wouldn't doubt that she's traced some off of other furry art, since when she actually has to draw furry bits on you can really tell because they're stiff and very stuck on looking.

Anyways, I hope this user wises up and stops taking shortcuts.

She only had a dozen or so drawings in her gallery, so I screencapped them right after I approved the post. Can upload tonight after work.

I'm almost certain others are traced. There are just too many style and skill inconsistencies in her gallery. In one pic, the character has almost perfect paws, while in others, they are very amateurish.

you should report the facebook ones too, or ask someone else too. Facebook removes art that is not credited or traced.
