EXPLAIN:

In June 2011, I've commissioned Onai for a full fursuit. It seemed like she was working on it a month after noting her, with head progress being made in July 2011.  A few months go by with no real updates; just a few IMs here and there. I wanted this fursuit to be done near the end of September 2011 because I was going to a furcon in California and Onai's agreed to have it done by then.  (Sorry, I don't have proof since I've lost all my older Skype logs between her and I.)  End of September comes by and the fursuit wasn't completed in time.  No problem, I suppose, I can wait a few more months, I guess.  A few more months go by and Onai's uploaded another image of my fursuit.  It looks like she's making some more progress in my fursuit, can't wait to get it!  Another month goes by and another upload of my fursuit head!  A few more months go by and I am becoming anxious if or when my fursuit will be finished.  I message her here and there and so does my mate, asking when it'd be finished or how's progress so far.  She typically says it's doing well or she'd have some real life issues and pushes back the fursuit progress.  More months go by and still no progress.  I am now getting even more worried and anxious.  I left a shout on her page--which she quickly removed and messaged me on Skype--and now all I hear from her and see are excuses of pity and stories about personal life instead of any information about my fursuit I had commissioned. At this point, I am quite upset by all of this, to the point that I only want a refund, not the finished product. I would be satisfied and move on with close to a full refund, if not a full refund of the $1250 I gave to her ontop of shipping costs of sending two DTDs. I don't think that I would enjoy actually receiving the fursuit anymore at this point, simply because of all the disappointment that I would associate with it, wanting it for so long, and only seeing progress and updates of others while mine remained in the shadows, ignored and forgotten, much like how I have felt.

At the moment (this took a while to get posted up from time submitted) this is partly/mostly resolved. An agreement was made for a new product to be created & delivered.
Onai has closed off taking commissions and taken what appears to be a more serious stance on her work and to get things done that is way past due.
So, currently, this is not resolved, but since she is not taking commissions until her current queue is cleared, I wouldn't say this is an issue any longer (so long as she rejects any new commissions). I know it's a case of taking in more commissions than what she was capable of handling, it was obvious over time that she was getting overwhelmed and overloading herself, however that didn't change my irritation with having paid and gotten nothing, but that should change within a couple more months according to her.

She is still in communication with me, and we are communicating on a more or less regular basis.

On another note, I'm not sure if the tag "artist-onai-wolfwind/lazywolfcreations" is correct. I'm not aware that she is or was associated with lazywolfcreations, however I know her business name is "Scuddlebutt Creatures"

This is not the first post about Onai in A_B, in earlier posts, the names in her tags are what she went by. If she's changed her business name, we can attempt to add it, but the LJ tags have a character limit, so we can only throw in so much.

I went through something extremely similar.

Commissioned her in 2011 in October/November. Originally given a completion date of January ( due to personal issues, we both agreed to pushing it back a bit.) Then promised to have it done it April. Then I was moved to May. THEN moved to delivery at MFM.
She made the suit not even a week before MFM (was working on it when I got there) and you can tell how badly it was rushed. I even had to tell her to forget making my digi legs and feet so I could have the suit for the con.

Head was HUGE, as was the armsleeves and handpaws. One handpaw was sewn with blue thread, and you can see it.. there are more issues, but I won't post them here.


All I can say is, I say be VERY careful with commissioning her. She seems very hit or miss.

And if it was the same, why would the Onai I commissioned use two different names/accounts simultaneously. It didn't seem like the same person to me when I was searching for other names she may have used.

The lazywolfcreations page has "Fursuit making account of onai-wolfwind" at the top.

It looks like the confusion here is based on Onai and Onai-Wolfwind being different people?

That Onai from the previous bewares is a different person than the Onai mentioned here.

Onai-Wolfwind is the person behind LazyWolfCreations and has the brown canine avatar in the previous entries.

This Onai is behind Scuttlebutt Creations and has a black and white canine avatar.

Two seperate people using the name Onai. The art and fursuit styles just seem way too different for it to be the same person.

I'm glad she finally got posted here. There were issues with her in the past (sloppy work, poor final products, putting personal work before paying customers, etc), and despite several friends trying to help, she has pushed everyone away.

I hope this beware inspires her to clean up her act, though unfortunately I do not have high hopes.

ETA: My older brother commissioned her, and I got to inspect the final product (a set of hand paws). It was absolutely shoddy. The paw pads were sloppily sewn, the seams were popping left and right, the fur was cut unevenly. It was really terrible, and could not be fixed.

also never live with her...biggest mistake of my life, she maybe paid me for rent half the time she was there stole a bunch of stuff when she left borrowed a ton of money from me and left a huge mess for me to clean up when she left, not to mention that she had all her fur in the basement where her and one of her friends decided to tear up a dead fox to taxidermy which half the fox was left there when she up and left.
