Todd Goldman is the 'genius' behind the "Boys are stupid, throw rocks at them" t-shirts, and has the David and Goliath clothing company.

Right now he has a gallery running called Goldigger. He's making a pretty penny off it too.

Most recently it's come out that Goldman has plagiarized Dave Kelly of the webcomic Purple Pussy, and Roman Dirge of Lenore.

So what can we do?

Step 1- boycott David and Goliath t-shirts.
Step 2 - Buy Dave Kelly's Purple Pussy T-shirt.
Step 3 - ???
Step 4 - Profit! (For Dave Kelly.)

Isn't his goodbye kitty (http://www.davidandgoliathtees.com/index.php?mode=HCAG) just a really old character? I remember seeing drawings just like that cat when I first got on the internet back in the 90's. :/

The kitty is known as "Nemo" on a really old (circa 1995?) Windows CD Rom I have.

The cat was part of one of the default Mac screensavers back in the day. I remember being entertained by the cute animated GIFs running around my screen. And I think my dad told me it was old, even back in the early 90's (like 1993).
So yeah, definitely not original content. I remember the copyright holder being a Japanese name, which is probably why the original creator hasn't stumbled across these tees yet.

NEKO! i remember that program! i had it waaaaaay back in the days of Windows 95... it would chase your mouse pointer around the screen, and when it was still, it would just sit and blink at you. and then it would fall asleep, i think, and when you would move your mouse again it would chase after it.

i only had that because mom and dad wouldn't buy me Dogz or Catz so that I could have a 'real' virtual pet. those were the days, lol.

i only remember the name so well because a friend of mine brought it up years ago that the proper pronunciation of it was 'nay-koh', not 'nee-koh' (as i'd been pronouncing it ever since i was what, 14? lol). it had never dawned on me that it was a japanese program for some reason... probably because i'd forgotten it. ^^;

if it wasn't for the theft of the sprite, the 'goodbye kitty' thing would be rather cute. ah well. :3

I never really liked the David & Goliath stuff, though I must admit I have the "I'm a Fox" wristband because my boss orders stuff from AtaBoy (they do the novelty stuff from D&G among other things) and she got that one for me. I didn't realize he was ripping off so MUCH stuff.

It's one thing to "rip off" a phrase- the shop I work in sells various magnets and we're always seeing "copycat" magnets where it's just the same ol' witty sayings except in different fonts and different size magnets from other companies- so lack of originality in novelty items is nothing new. But all-out ripping off someone else's art is just not cool. (Though like someone else said, I wish my stick figures were cool enough to rip off!) :P

I have never really cared for how derogatory the D&G stuff has been... it was so mean when one mother read to her teenage daughter the "Boys are stupid, throw rocks at them" magnet, laughing out loud, and I overheard another boy standing nearby - about six years old - say in a tearful voice, "That mommy said boys are stupid!" People don't realize how harmful words can be. :\

What a moron. I always hated that "Boys are Stupid" stuff. It's not even funny! It's kind of like when people try to join a conversation by saying somthing stupid. Not only that, but it's a lame competetor in a crowded market. I always thought that D&G was just trying to cash in on the success of Happy Bunny, or something...

the guy has blatantly ripped off the happy bunny guy quite a few times :|
