Beware of me, if you must...
Jun. 19th, 2007 02:49 pm(if this isn't the right place to put this, I apologize)
I do take commissions myself, and unlike everyone else, I take requests and trades!
Regardless of what it is, I will be a bit slow on it, even though I will do the work. I mean, someone on DA just paid me for a 3-page comic. I long ago took his money, and I still have yet to do it. It is understandable, however, that there are other things I must do, personally and drawing-wise.
As far as trades, go... I do ask, but I do have a poor track record of, as some put it, taking NO for an answer. And depending on whom you believe, I've been asking people one too many times. Regardless of that, even though I am slow on them, I always do my half.
I guess that's all about crappy old me...

Date: 2007-06-21 05:44 am (UTC)Um yeah. You ain't kidding about the "track record".
And this isn't really the kind of place to post this, considering you don't seem to get or miss a lot of your commissions. Being late one ONE project doesn't mean you gotta warn people about yourself. Being late on Many, (Paid peices mind you, NOT trades) I could understand, but one? it's unecessary. Go talk to the client who paid you instead of wasting time 'warning' people about your lateness.
And seriously, bringing up your recent internet "i beg 4 artz" drama really isn't helping your impression either.
So is this a warning about your behavior, or a warning about your work ethics?

Date: 2007-06-21 05:48 am (UTC)But
If someone completes half their trade, and the other doesn't, that second person stiffed the first out of time and effort that could have gone to something else, just like when a commissioner stiffs an artist on payment.
But this post is lame, I agree. If the OP knows they have a problem, they should work on fixing it (and no, making a post here does not fix it)

I have good work! That's why so many watch me and look at my stuff! Who the fuck are you to say all that about me and MY art?

Date: 2007-06-21 08:41 pm (UTC)You're late alright. Late on realizing that you have mental issues, late on getting the mental help you really need, and late on developing as an adult. Shall I go on?
Late on figuring out that you go way too far. Late catching on to the fact that some people just do NOT like you! Late on getting the clue...are you noticing a pattern? Or are you late on that as well?

Date: 2007-06-21 11:04 am (UTC)"and unlike everyone else, I take requests and trades!" Yes, because you're the only person to ever take requests or trades in the history of the universe? I don't think so, ever consider perhaps that no-one wants to trade with you because your artwork is poor, and nobody wants to do requests/trades for/with you because we've all heard about how you've behaved towards other artists.
I doubt there's more than a couple of people here who would even entertain the idea of commissioning you let alone doing a trade with you or a request for you. Really there's no need for this "warning" since it's a blatant attention seeking ploy and an attempt to downplay some of your extremely poor behaviour towards various artists.
Take yourself off, work on your artwork and think about the way you behave towards people. You have a lot of work to do before people will take you seriously.

Date: 2007-06-21 04:12 pm (UTC)Do you suffer from a disorder like autism or similar?
Having said that, this is not to open a new dialog with you outside this post, so do not take this as I want to talk with you again, this won't be happening for a long time, if ever.
The problem you obviously have is that you seem to suffer from thinking you're bigger than you are just because a social networking gallery will feed you with niceties over reality.
http://mdetector5.deviantart.com and your erotic works http://www.furaffinity.net/user/mdetector5 are extremely subpar.
Now no one starts off great, and I know I sure didn't and I'm still not that good of an artist, however, life drawing works wonders.
The fact that you said you're drawing for 10-15 years and keep bringing this up as your point of reference tells me this...
Artists learn through experimentation. Artists learn through repetition. However, I don't see any improvements from you from either method.
Your opening post was rather full of yourself... unlike everyone else? I know many artists that take requests and trades - I've done it. However, it is when it takes their fancy and they have time to do requests or trades...while they're taking commissions. The reason it's not done is let's face it, people want freebies or the people trading is not within their skill level. There are far more people lining up for FREE than something they have to PAY for.
I'm not going to over and ask Boris Vallejo, Frank Frazetta and Joe Jusko for a request or trade, we're obviously in VERY different leagues. Not to mention as a professional you don't have time for that anyways.
On a personal note, I'm rather perturbed that you needed to post this, and even get a journal by your own admission over me. What is going on here?

by all mean sif you really have to "warn" others about yourself then the solution is simple: YOU stop taking others money.
