WHEN: November 11, 2011

WHAT: Hi Res Full Color Commission via her FA account ($150 paid)

EXPLAIN:
I commissioned her for another hi res full color commission on November 11th, 2011 after having two prior commissions with her that went smoothly and without trouble. I attempted to communicate with her regarding my commission as best I could over time but she was certainly difficult to reach. After the recent outbreak of AB posts and Paypal chargebacks, I tried to work out a peaceful resolution with her and put faith in her to finally complete my commission and start to fix her growing negative reputation but her actions and responses (or often lack thereof) have shown me that she isn't as interested as I had hoped she would be.

The following three images should speak for themselves and contain all the proof necessary including the screencap of the Paypal transaction. I created them to submit as proof for a Paypal claim so please excuse the brief explanation of things people of this community may consider common knowledge.

Part 3: http://i.imgur.com/16WaMae.jpg

The Paypal claim was opened today and I am hoping they will file in my favor. If they do not, I will be attempting to get my money back through my bank. I am disappointed that someone with such talent is choosing to take this path but I attempted to give her the benefit of the doubt by letting her fix this and she chose not to. BEWARE!!

EDIT 1: Paypal apparently automatically closed my case against her as it was over 45 days old. Guess it's time for me to go to my bank...

EDIT 2: Filed a claim with my bank today (April 24th)... I should hear in the next 14 days if they're able to help me as typically they are only able to file cases within 90 days. If it doesn't work, I will follow the advice to call Paypal.

EDIT 3: (May 3rd) Bank was unable to help due to the amount of time that's elapsed... going to try calling Paypal instead of filing online but at this point, I just think my money is gone :C

I wonder with all the evidence against her if she can be considered as a scam artist via FA and DA now enough to be banned or suspended?

Forget that, she should be arrested.

I know that FA was looking into the situation. I'll see if that's really gone anywhere.

She has dug herself quite the hole indeed, I doubt she could ever get out of this one. Even with a good reason-not keeping in contact is a horrible thing to do. Especially opening all those notes and ignoring them+accepting tons of new commissions.
I hope all her clients get refunds, and action is taken on FA as well as DA.

Jeez, she's making quite a name for herself now. I doubt anything could be said to make this all better at this point.

I do hope you get some resolution on your end that works in your favor.

Ugh, yeah. That contest she tried to enter...D: Sadly I also remember that first journal being posted as well.

Oh my lord. Her saying she thought your cutoff was midnight as opposed to 6pm. Well just skipeedeedoo. That means she read the message at one point and meant to leave it for the last possible minute. That's not incredibly shady at all...nope...

Also, truly how many messages from customers can possible be backlogged over the course of 2 months? Has she really let so much go for so long it's become that bad? It would be so easy to just have a commission e-mail account where you can arrange the order via the sender so they're all grouped and you can go "Oh, you were __ who wanted ___."

At this point posting her backlog would probably shock more than a few people enough to put them into a coma, I'd imagine. I hope you get your money back. What nonsense she's put you through!

While this post was approved, I'm gonna have to ask you to censor her real name from the Paypal image.

I wish you luck seeking resolution with Paypal. I attempted to open a claim also, which was summarily denied. I followed up by appealing it, and despite the fact that I had proof of the artist committing to a due date - and my claim was opened within 45 days of that - because it was over 45 days since I *paid*, my claim appeal was also denied.

That is appalling. This whole issue is appalling. It is SUCH a pity that someone with such an appealing style is so horrific in her business practises. I want to believe that this started because she's just not good at having art as her job and got overloaded - but there's being a flake and there's being a con artist, and she's definitely flung herself into the latter category.

I haven't looked at her dA since the last A_B post, but I'm amazed at how it doesn't even plateau. Just more and more (very legitimate) complaints. The log in this comment (http://comments.deviantart.com/4/2591944/3019207999), in particular, is horrifying.

I really, really hope Paypal sides with you, OP, and, if not, your bank does a chargeback with no issue.

Stop waiting, it's never going to come... and I doubt you can get a refund now, it's been years D:

Being patient with artists is truly a kind thing to do, everyone falls on hard times, but with little to no communication and 6 months+ waiting with no WIP's or good reason-it's best to just get a refund.

This is awful. I feel really bad for Cashoo's customers as there is absolutely no excuse for her behaviour but she isn't even repentant about it, insisting on droning on about her life and sob stories as if that makes it okay to treat people like this. You, LadyLoki and Svarta Perlan are individuals who I see commission a LOT of art and conduct yourselves in a personable and gracious manner so it's really sad to see great clients like yourselves be treated this way.

I really hope your bank can do something, and as been already suggested you could try calling paypal and explain that you were scammed by someone with a history of it. They should be able to look at her account and see all the chargebacks and disputes against it.

Holy mackerel, her comments section on DA is just pages and pages and pages of "please respond to my notes" "where's my art?" "what's going on?" "give me back my money." I'm on page 20 and it's still going.

She seems to be sick or in some horrible crisis constantly... yet is streaming tons of porn and posting commission journals? She's pretty much a Starfinder clone at this point, and that's a heavy label.

I think it's pretty clear at this point that Cashoo has a big issue with facing her growing workingload. She takes a look at what she owes, can't face how big it is, and puts it off for another day. Then when she needs money badly, she'll open new commissions and add to her queue. And the cycle starts again.

I wish there was somebody out there that could give her a push, because at this point, I fear she might either leave and return under a new name.

It always amazes me when artists take on more than they can handle... spend all the money straight away... then don't do any work, but need money again so load on more commissions, ad nauseum.

I work at my day job, have one steady commissioner (two comic pages a week) and two intermittent comic commissioners (their stories are ongoing, they just get pages whenever they get the money for them) and sometimes in addition to that, I get bogged with commissions. ... NEVER SPEND THE MONEY UNTIL YOU ARE DONE THE ART.

I don't think I've ever had so many commissions that I couldn't finish them within two weeks (even when I have a lot, I am usually done within a week). However, if I had so many that the wait was at least a month, I would turn away prospective clients and tell them I was too busy at the moment, but they could go on a waiting list until my queue cleared out. ... But even then, I don't even ask for money until I start on the picture. Everything is easier to keep track of that way I think.

Thank you. I admit I've been thinking I'd like some art from her, because she's a very good artist, but if it's this much of a hassle to get it, then no thanks.

I commissioned her like a week or two weeks before her first big A_b was posted. I'm wondering what I should do :/ She's had no contact with me, and though my commission was only $40, I'm seriously doubting I'll ever see anything resembling my piece.

FA Admin Bazeel has banned her on FA.

He attempted to contact her and work out an amicable solution, but she did not do what she was asked, and did not respond after a series of communication. She was given more than enough time (over a month actually!) to comply with what she was asked to do, and refused to do so.

She is welcome back on FA after she has had significant progress in finishing artwork, NOT taken on a bunch more to make up for it, and has a public queue.

Not sure if you're still actively checking, but Cashoo made a few updates on her Twitter earlier today.

"Prolly getting Internet connection back today, SUPER EXCITE. So many discussions to make & arts to send, yet such limited means to do so..."
"Also escaped seemingly certain eviction by sliver of surreal events within minutes & now have a roomie who paid thru end of my lease (3 mo)!"
"I'm unspeakably thankful for the opportunities that I've been given in literally the most difficult & painful time of my life so far. Love~"
