She is finishing projects, I know of somebody who got a head finally completed by her just this month. It really does suck that she's taking so long, but it's a mistake I see nearly all beginning fursuiters who take commissions do, not accurately estimating the time it's going to take them to make things and ending up over-committed.

You can approach her about a refund, but given that she has made some progress and put in some work and materials, you can't expect to get a full one. If you really don't want to wait any more, then perhaps you can ask for a partial refund, and for the work she's done so far to be sent to you? That way you can have somebody else finish it, or finish it yourself.

Well, I know her family is going through finantial issues so I didn't wanna do that. I just wanted to know if there was someway I could prod her into giving me more info and pics, you know? She goes off galavanting for a week before she replies to my mails, and promises of pictures go un-honored. >.>

I'm sure it'll be completed, just... a year? Is that not cause to be just a little peeved?

Oh you definitely have cause to be upset! Her behavior as you describe it isn't professional at all. But there's not too much you can do, honestly. I'm sure you're already sending her regular reminders, and bothering her more often is just likely to backfire, I suspect, since few people like to be pestered about a late commission daily. Wish I could be more helpful. In the future only pay part up front, but you probably know that already!

Aside from requesting a refund, the only real (but not likely to be fiscally reasonable) alternative is Small Claims Court.

Either way, it requires you to grow the backbone you admit to not having.

I looked up her phone number in the end.She started mine at the same time as yours.There were times I was at my wits end waiting.
She followed through with concept art in Feb,had the head foamed in March,and had it partially furred in August.
It was supposed to have been done by then in the first place. I know things came up in her life after that. Then for Oklacon,then in Nov,then Christmas.Then finally a few weeks ago.The head turned out fine.She admitted that she had taken on too many projects at once..
I am glad she closed her commissions.I think she has yours,a buzzard,and a contest winner left.She was always nice when I talked to her.This usaully prompted her to show me progress.She wont cheat you I know that.She was just having a little trouble with the dragon.
I will say that I have seen far worse fursuit makers than her.
I just think she took on too many projects at once.Then didnt realize how long it was going to take to complete them.

Yes you notice their hair looks alike? But I have been scammed by 2 suit makers back in 05. Tyler Herrel and Vos Reed.
Neither one said it was their fault.They scammed me out of $195.
So there were times my friends told me she might.But I held up hope.

Back in 05 I wanted a new fursuit head.I was going to go with Whitewolf.Tys boyfriend at the time says TY could make a head as good as hers.So I said ok.And started to pay on it.
TY never showed progress shots.I even had to send him art of Romani as refernce.TY claimed he was kicked out of his parents house and the bf left him.Supposedly my head was foamed.
I believed him and kept on paying him.After a while,TY and VOS posted a topic on Lonestar Furs they could make fursuits.
Later on,I found out that my head was only foamed and the head money was wasted on other things.TY`s next bf claimed TY would refund me the money.I never saw a penny again.Both TY and Vos,conveintly moved out of Texas.I saw TY`s add on pounced again talking about making fursuits.I contacted him saying I wanted a refund.He claimed he never saw a penny that Vos took it all.
He had the nerve after lying to me to tell me never contact him again! I also heard once where a fur was scammed out of $1,600 by a fur claiming they were Lacy..

The maker of our head isnt really a conartists.
She just couldnt keep up with her deadlines.
