Lost Contact: xsugarpill
Mar. 23rd, 2014 01:16 amHas anyone heard from this artist recently? In February of 2013 I commissioned them on FurAffinity for a $30 traditional bust picture, the artist specifically was Saturnine, since there are two artists sharing the account. I paid for it and they let me know that there would be a bit of a wait before they got to mine because they had a long list of commissions, and in June of 2013 they posted a journal about having laptops and hadn't posted anything publicly on their account since then. I sent them a message in November of 2013 to see if they were still online/checking messages or anything and they actually replied saying they were still not able to get on a computer still and were checking on mobile and I haven't heard from them since them. I know a lot of other people on FA had commissioned them and are probably still waiting, I was curious if anyone else had any contact with them and had any idea what was up/when they might be back/if they're posting anywhere else on the internet.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Date: 2014-03-25 03:22 pm (UTC)I also feel like I owe an explanation to you and any of his other commissioners who may read this, because our hiatus turned from a planned few weeks into wayyy longer and I feel terribly guilty that we have been MIA without updates for so long. What happened was both my laptop as well as his desktop computer crashed during the summer, mine right before I wrote that we were going on hiatus on our FA, and his a bit later. He was only able to replace his computer last month, and I'm still waiting to replace mine, so we have definitely been scarce online. We both lost a lot of digital WIPs when our respective computers crashed, so that is something we need to factor in as well going forward.
The other thing that I never know how to say but nevertheless plays a huge role in why we have been so quiet is that we both deal with chronic pain conditions that have pretty much been dominating our lives in the last year. Saturnine took most of his commissions before he was diagnosed when he was able to work more quickly and with less pain, and now that he has so many physical limitations trying to manage the workload he had before just isn't possible. We've talked about his owed work and although he really wants to be able to finish everything now that he has a working computer again, I think the best course of action is going to be setting up a plan to refund everyone.
All of this is completely our fault, and I'm so, so sorry to everyone who has been waiting to hear from us or thinking we disappeared - we absolutely should have said something sooner about our situation. I know putting health first is what is best for us right now but NOT at the expense of communication and resolution with commissioners. Thank you OP for speaking up because this is a kick in the butt to put up the formal update/refunds journal I've been working on writing and get messages out to commissioners. In the meantime, anyone else wanting to get into contact with us can send an e-mail to saturnine.antique@gmail.com and I'll get back to you as soon as I can on my phone.
