WHO: Codeine

WHERE: Furaffinity http://www.furaffinity.net/user/codeine/ (NSFW) If the journal gets removed, notify me, I have screenshots of that, too.

WHAT: Commission that was never, ever worked on.

WHEN: Nearly two months ago, March 11th, http://i.imgur.com/H1nZvId.png

PROOF: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7436845/

EXPLAIN: I've been waiting very patiently for this. The journal states that the commission would be finished by the end of that week, but she continues to take on more commissions and apparently ignore some. I've sent her plenty of emails, wanting nothing more than to check up on how it has been going, or to know if she is even working on it at all. I've also asked to be refunded about a month later, but she has no funds to give. At that time, she also stated that she could do the work in a day, and I was trying to be polite, saying that she didn't have to rush on it. http://i.imgur.com/1Zm6DVA.png I didn't realize that meant she would not work on it at all.

Often it seems like a bad idea to offer emergency commissions, and to take emergency commissions. The artist usually ends up biting off more than they can chew, and has a hard time reaching the end of their queue. :s

I would notify Trusted-Artists on FA seeing as they have that sticker up.

Hope everything works out!

A bit of a nitpick - two months ago would be May 11th. It's only been a little bit over one month.

Agreeing with the other comments, it's a case of biting off more than they can chew. Emergency commissions should be like no more than 10 slots or so and should be only worked on until the queue clears. :( I hope something works out.

Yeah because if the transaction took place march 11th, a month would be april 11th which has passed. May 11th would be 2 months.

To me it seems like a pretty big red flag that the artist has "In case I get suspended" then their e-mail on their profile.

Plus the journal from 3 months ago(before you commissioned them) talking about how bad they are at keeping track of commissions.

Edit: I hope you get your money back.

To be fair, you can be suspended for a lot of really stupid things on FA, so I don't know if I'd consider that much of a red flag. On the other hand, I wouldn't put "if I get suspended" on my profile either...would be much better to put "if I can't be reached on FA" or something, so you may have a point.

Yikes, artists expecting their clients to read personal/update journals is one of my biggest pet peeves. I second totschrei's suggestion, I personally would notify the trusted-artists group.

I hope you can reach some sort of resolution. Have you considered filing a chargeback?

First, check and see if your bank will reverse the transaction. Then, if they can, issue her a deadline- you want your art within X amount of time, or you're gonna force a refund.

I also second the notion to send a note to Trusted-Artists with your post here, so that they know about this.

I've got two pending commissions from her since October of last year of January of this year. I had contacted her about it and I was apparently 15th and 25th in line on her lists. I know I'll be contacting Trusted Artists about it, really shows their integrity.

I was actually pondering making an AB for her myself.
A long time ago, she made an orgy pic for which I got a slot. it was finished about a week afterwards. loved it. then she wanted to make a round two, so I got in again even though she upped prices, to $85
I asked about this a month after the start, as the first one was done in a week. Told me it was 2 more months then.
4 months after that, double the time, I asked for a refund, partly because I saw a 'sketch' of it by chance in her scraps (never bothered to note me about it or anything) and the slot/place my char ended up in was not worth 85, not even half of it in my opinion.. (wouldn't have canceled for that alone though, I'm no asshole)

After a bit back and forth, I got it, though only $60 because she 'sketched' it (and no, I don't think the sketch of my char in that pic was worth $25, esp. since most of it was behind someone else)

by the way, the refund has now been 4 months ago, and the pic is still not finished. dunno if she canceled it though (would be weird as my space was really small and to the side, no problem at all to put another char there)

I wondered back then if I should make an AB for it, but since I got a partial refund, I didn't.

If you check here regularly, maybe you wouldn't have commissioned her if I did, sorry
