Has anyone here had experience with getting a badge from rabidboi? I ask because at FWA this year I paid for a badge from her for my friend, Allik that I never received. I could plainly see that it was half way done before the end of the con, and she tells me each time it is done, all she needs to do is mail it. I'm curious to know if she owes anyone else a badge as well, considering the fact she goes to cons, and taking commissions seems to be the way she funds her way while there.
I've contacted her about my badge countless times over the past few months, and usually she is pretty good about responding, and promises to get me my badge. But then I wait and still nothing. I realize she has had a some in-real-life problems forcing her to move a bit this year and loose her job, yet she still manages to make it to all these cons. I wanted to post this prior to MFM to see if anyone else is waiting on a badge from her, and as a preemptive warning in the event of anyone else commissioning her. I don't want to say for sure yet "Don't commission her" because she does seem friendly and I might be the only person left in this situation. But I do think that 7 months is quite a long time to wait for a badge that is already finished, and each time I contact her about it I get this new crisis in her life, and then I read about her going to a con. So in the interest of seeing that no one else is shortchanged, I'm wondering if I'm not the only one waiting for a commission.

Edit - Ok this post is now over a month old and I'm still getting new comments about it NOT PERTAINING TO RABID BOI'S BUSINESS. This is ARTIST BEWARE therefore unless you have an experience with her deals with art or her business, please refrain from posting on this thread. I will leave this up in the event that people need to know about her in terms of commissions, but the rest of the personal drama stuff I'm going to ask to be frozen.

My boyfriend and I both commissioned her at AC 08 and she got them done quickly and was so friendly I made her a bracelet. i dunno lol ¯\(°_o)/¯

I commissioned her for a sketch at FWA. Told her what I wanted, got something completely different and rather insulting, of my son's character being dangling over water and almost fed to a shark. Really, REALLY pissed me off. It was pretty hard to control my temper long enough to even get out of sight before throwing it away.

Needless to say, not a person I'll commission again.

Wow that is really horrible. Yeah I'v heard a lot of bad stories about here since posting about this in my own journal. I can't say she was like this to me, but then she might have her reasons for that. Still that is really unprofessional and rude of her. I'd make my own post on this community about her.

Can you elaborate on this? Was it malicious, or did she just misunderstand? I mean, a cartoony picture with someone's character getting dangled above sharks isn't inherently mean or evil. I could see how it could have just been done as a joke and then taken the wrong way. Granted, I'm just playing devil's advocate-- I could be way off. But that's why I ask... could you elaborate?

That's disgusting, why the hell would anyone do that? There's no justification I can remotely think of for doing anything like that outside of a clearly understood joke between friends. What did you ask her for if I might ask?

I've had really horrible times with how picky she is with having her own characters drawn.
As well as a very bad experience with her on a personal basis... There are things to be said about people who disregard others and promises as well as business related deals.

She's really sensitive to criticism and unprofessional, so I would say that avoiding her and going with a better artist who is more reliable would be anyone's safest bet.

As for her history of crisis, it extends back to early 2005. Something about cheating on a soldier husband and being a satanist, or something else childish and extreme.

I remember meeting here at FWA that year and her telling me her Marine husband who was in Iraq and her were getting a divorce. Apparently he is a white supermicist from what I remember too.
I didn't want to bring up personal issues with her because they aren't business related, but when I posted this on my journal, lots of people had stories to share about her pertaining to her erratic strange behavior.
What fumes me is that even though she goes from personal crises to crises she still manages to make it to all these cons, which then consequently lead to her losing her job/place to live. Its been two weeks since I posted this and still no badge, which I'm suppose now I'll never see.
I think if anything should result out of me and others posting about her in this community it should be to show her she can't treat customers like this, and she can't keep going to cons when she doesn't have the finical means to do so and take people's money and never deliver.

That wasn't "years ago". That was in February. And for $10, it's not worth the hassle to fight over, which is part of why I haven't bothered making a post on here. I won't raise hell over it, but nor will I commission anything else, and that's the end of it.

I have the pleasure of living with Rabid Boi, and I've witnessed nothing but good things during the period. I honestly think it's pathetic that you have to say hurtful things about someone that you don't even know on a personal level. Maybe if you had cared enough you would have actually tried to find out what was wrong in her life before condemning her. Learn to accept for people who they are and open your mind to new things. What she does in her personal life should not give you reason to place judgement on her professional life. I see your badge. She has it here. You never really even bothered to ask, did you? But of course, contacting countless times means not at all. And how the fuck is she supposed to know what is honestly going on in this girl's life if she tells her something new every time she is contacted? Honestly I don't think anything is too wrong with her if she can go to conventions, even if she borrows money from her friends. How hard is it to dig .42 cents out of the damn couch to get a stamp or borrow it from the friends that pay for her to go to conventions? Maybe she should spend her time out looking for a job instead of going to conventions?

Anjel has said nothing bad about her at all anyways, just what she's experienced. So before you go and pull shit out of your ass maybe you should read. That and how can you go and say Anjel is a bad person for talking bad about her, when you're saying shit about Anjel and have never even met her. Get your head out of your ass. I sure as hell would be upset if I had to wait 7 months and still get nothing for a badge that is supposedly done.

Edit: Maybe tell Rabid that next time she takes commissions she should tell people up front that her ADHD is making it so she can't send out the commissions she's finished.

Maybe you should spend more time reading the post thoroughly before making accusations. Anjel did contact RabidBoi about the badge, and each time was promised the badge, but didn't receive it.

I find three intresting things about this post.

one....its as lot of talk over a 10 dollar commisson. I have empathy for the individual in some earlier posts who lost $675 dollars on a bad commission but 10 dollars as a reason to trash someone? Sheesh!

two.... I think i read thru this all the way, and I dont remeber seeing anyone else who didnt get a drawing after they paid? wasnt that the entire jist of this post? To see if anyone else didnt get a drawing after they paid for it? Rabid did two badges for me at two seperate cons.The first she sat down and did right away because I was the first to approach her. The next time she did one for my son and it wasnt done til sunday because she re-did it, artistic temperment and all that, but she got it to me and he has it on his wall.-shrug-

three....what differnce does it make whether she eats babys if people get the art? Of ALL the people to be throwing rocks I would think the people in the silicon houses would defer to some path of understanding.


My 9 year old loves furry cons and so I try to take him and I am always hearing about how horrible and preverted "Furries" are. Whats so strange is everyone I have met at cons are really nice people and happily out of 4 cons he has attended I have yet to see any of the horrible things the general public accuses furries of.......well, until now.

I guess I just need to keep him away from the visciousness on LJ where people feel its okay to be mean cause its just the internet.

Rabid is okay, does decent art and if the worst anyone can say is that she messed up on one persons order but says she will do it, or that she did the art but I didnt like it so I tore it up.

Well hell people, Da Vinci should have such glowing reveiws.

Yeah its 10 dollars, so I'm not too concerned any more because I'm not getting this badge. I posted this because I wanted to see if other people had been robbed, considering the fact that despite her not getting my badge nor having a job she still gets to go to cons. I made sure to ask people and keep this as drama free as possible. Its not a big enough thing to presue, but Rabid boi and her dramarific fan bois surely made it this way.

My intention was to warn people about her, and see if I had not been the only one robbed, not set out to vindictively ruin her. But because of her reaction to this post, I think she has done that for me. So no don't worry about the badge. I actually got 2 better badges from friends who felt sorry for my friend and how she fucked him over.
