WHERE: FurAffinity

WHAT: A custom 'Keijin' which was/is their closed species - Paid $150

WHEN: May of 2015, payment was sent on May 22nd 2015

PROOF:
Everything, from the beginning until now, is in these screenshots. Oldest is at the bottom just like how you would read it on FA.
This was when she was still on her Keiiba account, where the original transaction took place.
Here's the sketched of my commission
This is from the past 2 weeks or so from her new account JONSIE.
These are refs that I had sent her when she asked if she could do art of my characters instead. I believe she sent me a message on facebook asking about it.
And lastly, proof of payment.

EXPLAIN:
I'm not really too sure what to put here that's not already in the screenshots, but long story short I had followed her and her art around for quite sometime. We were actually even friends at one point, not super close, but you get the idea. I've always loved her art and she's always been a kind person with a good reputation so what could go wrong? I can't remember if I've ever commissioned her before this point, but other people had and always got what they paid for and in a pretty timely manner. When I first saw her species floating around I kind of fell in love with them and wanted one of my own and once she started to offer customs I jumped at the chance to get one. And the rest is pretty much in the messages. This has been going on since May of last year, and I've tried my best to be patient and understanding because I know life happens. I even opted for different kinds of art to make up for what I had paid for and never even received that. I actually just counted this as a loss after a year of waiting until she messaged me two weeks ago.

So here were are a year and seven months later I have nothing to show for the $150 I paid to her.

Howdy! We've gone ahead and approved this for you, but you have a skype handle and the name of a third party uncensored towards the bottom of your first cap, and you missed a censor in your Paypal cap. Please censor those when you get a chance- thanks!

PS. I don't know if you're aware, but your PMs are turned off!

Yeah that "Well sorry, but you're going to have to wait a long while" message just pisses me off. To me it just really comes off as her saying "Not my problem".

Uh, no, that's not ok. I'm assuming it's too late for a chargeback with paypal? That is not her money to spend on her vacation, it is YOUR MONEY.

Please do try to call them! If you explain the situation, they usually, even if it's outside the window, will try to help in some way.

Okay I totally misread that pm. I the the grandparents can to their house not that they wanted the artist and her boyfriend to visit them. What and absolutely bullshit excuse. $75 is a lot to them? Well I'm sure $150 is a lot to you as well.

"My grandparents surprised us with an upcoming trip [...] and we really need to keep the money to do stuff."

If I bought a defective product from a store, and took it back looking for a refund, and got told, "I can't right now, I'm going to see my family and need money to do stuff with them, so you'll just have to wait," I'd be flabbergasted. :/ Don't treat professional payments for services like a loan from friends that can be returned at your leisure.

At the very least, they could try negotiating for smaller payments - like five separate $30 payments. Telling you "too bad you have to wait" after more than a year is just... at the very least up until then, while their work ethic was sloppy, at least they remained polite in tone. After that, it just looks to me like they realised they couldn't keep taking advantage of your patience and goodwill anymore, dropped politeness, and threw a small tantrum.

I would like to point out how all of her two main excuses seem to revolve around her 'grandparents'. It seems more like a scapegoat if I ever seen one.

Uh, I wouldn't say that at all. I'd say the biggest reasons for not doing it are actually "moving interstate", which IS a big and taxing process, and "broken tablet", in which case they literally physically cannot do the work. I think going as far as to say they're scapegoating is a bit much.

I think the artist handled this unprofessionally by the end, and their final reason for not refunding is irresponsible and inconsiderate and most of all, not their customer's problem, but being unable to work due to family matters just twice over a period of like a year and a half doesn't feel to me like scapegoating. It feels like that's what having family is. Sometimes you just gotta put other stuff on hold and deal with them. Not having money to do stuff because you failed to do work someone paid you to do and you had to refund the money given to you, though? Tough titties, you'll just have to find things to do with your family that doesn't cost much.

Even so this is also their second beware considering the other one is still unresolved and months ago this year. Though they're certainly building up a bad reputation fairly quickly. Which is from the same thing the op paid for.

Sorry you had to go through this, I know you paid a lot more than me for your custom.

I hope she sets her priorities straight, you need to live too and that's your money she's technically spending.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing problems with her. That last note she sent wasn't nice and her priorities seem really off. It seems she is posting about doing free requests: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/22058886/
