AAaaargh! I now have a negative feedback from Marjory_warrenne on Furbid because of the Seafoam kitty hat.
Yes, the one SHE ended a month ago with "buy it now" and then never paid for.

The negative feedback?
Left by Marjory_warrenne on Fri Jan 21 10:19:08 2005 for "Seafoam / White kitty hat" (furwear1103961101)
Rating:Negative
Reason given:
Lied to and item was put back up for sale with out my knowing.

Lied to? And I quote, from an email dated 1/3/05: I'm expecting that payment WILL be in the mail today, or the item is being relisted and I am leaving negative feedback, as it has now been two weeks since you agreed to buy this item. -Maly

I emailed Furbid's administrator, I don't really know what else to do. So frustrated.

Some furbidders are total asshats. There was one guy who bumped up some auction I had to something rather impressive ... I only expected $10-15 but they seemed willing to pay $40.

I wait and wait .. "oh I'll send out a check soon" .. "oh I had a problem and will send it out at 'x' date" ... 'x' comes and goes "oh I'll send it out tomorrow". I finally set a definite 'do or die' date -- it comes and goes with no check. I never hear from him again.

I checked the feedback and he apparently did the same stunt to someone else. -- Not long after that he sort of disappeard (at least that username did). I never did re-list the item .. I probably should.

This may wind up being a nasty policy, but...

As a seller on furbid, do you have the ability to decline a user's bid, like you can on other auction sites? (I've only heard of furbid, am not aware of the mechanics). If it is possible to view something like that, it may be worthwhile to remove bids by those with a poor feedback rating, or to place a description directly in the auction that those with a rating below a certain number (or percentage!) should not bid in the first place.

This same problem exists in Ebay. Folks leave legitimate feedback, good or bad, while asshats leave revenge feedback. Surely there must be a better way.

At least Ebay allows folks to reply to feedback they do not like.

I've kinda wondered about that at times as well.

One thing I do appreciate at Furbid -- and would like to see happen on e-Bay -- is the 'bids within the last 10 minutes advance the auction close time to 10 minutes'. No more idiotic last-second sniping.

If you thought that was scary -- check out this picture (http://granicus.if.org/~firmiss/photos/eatmyhandpossum.jpg). Yes, opossums really can open their mouths that wide.

That is a remarkably impressive picture. And the dangling bouquet icon is very nice too. :)

I'm pretty sure that if you'd like to respond to the comment (its not like ebay, but it'll just be another feedback under her's on the list) you can type in the item number, and your name, and see if you can leave feedback for "yourself" in a sense, replying to her's. To let the other people who do check your feedback that payment from Majory_warrenne was not recieved when the item was purchased with buy it now, e-mail was sent, but not responded to.

or whatever.
At least its worth a try.

Sorry about the crappy buyer. I ban anyone from my auctions who don't pay or give me crap or whatever. Its kind of roundabout to get even to the ban bidder page.

You can if you mail the admin.

One time Assinio (Kevin Duane) was bidding on one of my auctions and he has a HUGE track record for not paying the artists for commissioned work (ever wonder where those 'cat scratches' and 'stripe tease' CD's come from?). I mailed the admin and he removed the bids.
Ofcourse he read Duane's mail first that I was commiting libel against him and bitched at me first like a right retard. How hard is it that when two people are having a dispute and they both mailed you to read both e-mails before taking action?
