Inapropreat behavior for seller
Aug. 19th, 2009 10:07 pmHI all, I bought something from Jurann about 17 days ago, he didn't ship it till 14 days latter. I sent several emails, my first few emails were to confirm everything but has he delaid in sending the product he sent him new emails they were all instantly blocked by his side. So I filled a pay-pal complaint, soon as i filled said complaint he shiped it and leaft a verry bad feed back on furbuy site against me, I was very in pleased as I seller of products and a merchant my self you don't take your time like that, pay-pal only gives you so-many days to fill a complaint that was nearly half of the time.

Though it is disappointing to hear that your purchased item so long to ship your package, it's pretty unacceptable if they were expecting to sell it in the first place.

Date: 2009-08-21 05:29 pm (UTC)Did Jurann have to make said item before posting or was it an object he could have posted straight away?
If it's the latter waiting two weeks after payment seems excessive, but you really need to leave more detail than this.

Date: 2009-08-21 05:46 pm (UTC)I've seen Jurann posting around the internet for a while and he seems to be a real hot head. Leaving you negative feedback for asking where your items are is ridiculous, and two weeks is too long to wait for something you buy on an auction site.

Date: 2009-08-21 07:59 pm (UTC)But 2 weeks is not horrendously long time wait, unless you told him you needed it at a certain date that he failed to deliver.

Date: 2009-08-21 09:39 pm (UTC)Seriously, formatting and proofreading are your friends, currently your post requires deciphering and to be honest, your words are your online appearance, if they're sloppy, ill-formatted and lackadaisical? People are likely to think that you are also like that which makes them prone to not take you seriously even if you have a legitimate complaint, which I'm honestly unsure of since your post is so badly put together and empty of evidence.

Date: 2009-08-21 11:44 pm (UTC)1) I started a new job the day after the auction closed where I worked 8am to 6pm Mon-Fri. Turns out that the local shipping centers are only open 10am to 5pm.
2) I informed the bidder that I would not be able to ship it out until the following weekend at the very SOONEST due to this, and even that weekend would be rough since it was the weekend of Sea-Fair, the largest annual event in my area - and sure enough traffic and stores were too difficult to get to on a hectic schedule. The item was shipped the Saturday following, which was only 12 days after the close of the auction.
3) "Many e-mails" from the seller was ONE e-mail they sent after my notice that it would take me a week or two to send the item. And it was ungracious and condescending, so I chose to ignore it.
4) When I did ship the item, it wound up costing $30 to ship because the bidder lives in BFE Canada and there were a multitude of extra service charges for delivery to a remote area. I only charged the bidder $8, so they should be grateful for the concession.
5) FurBuy explicitly allows 14 days for the bidder to make payment and another 14 days for the seller to ship the item, unless otherwise noted. I made no promises to ship the item faster than that default time.
6) Bidder opened a Paypal dispute only 13 days after the auction close despite having 45 days in which to file the dispute - ironically the day after the item was shipped. I did not send the seller the tracking number yet because it hadn't gone live on UPS.com as it takes 48-72 hours for items to enter their system, which is normal.
7) After resolving the dispute and dealing with negative and condescending remarks from the bidder, I exercised my choice and right to leave Indifferent (NOT Negative) feedback on the bidder for their behavior and attitude.
Further, this is a done deal at this point, the bidder has their tracking number and saved $22 on shipping, and I successfully sold the item in question. So what's the point of this railing?

Date: 2009-08-22 05:02 am (UTC)and holy crap. eating shipping costs is a bitch. though i'm not sure it would've been right to charge him for your calculation mistake (moot point, but just putting in 2 cents here).

Date: 2009-08-25 04:49 pm (UTC)All drama aside, if the sentence the OP has posted was your feedback? You really shouldn't have called him a jerk, it makes you look bad.
I think there's issues on both sides of this, okay so the bidder was impatient, but you really should have made alternate arrangements to get it shipped if you could not do so yourself, fair enough it was within the time allowed still but realistically you really need to make sure you ship regularly. Most sellers have a 'shipping day' that they ship on and you don't have to go to the post office to ship something, there are services that allow you to have it picked up for you.
Also you shouldn't blame the bidder for your error in calculating shipping, they shouldn't have to be grateful that you don't charge them for your error.
I agree that the OP jumped the gun on this one and has terrible communication skills. I'm sure you're otherwise a fine seller/buyer, but I think you could have handled this transaction better.
