so at FWA two days ago i commissioned this girl to draw a badeg for me, i paid her and left my favorite badge with her as a reference. she dissapeared for two days. then the con ended. and i can't find an account of hers anywhere that isn't banned. help please.

She's still trolling for commissions that she usually never finishes on furocity.com. The site is having some server issues though (back-up server also died apparently) but odds are you won't get your commission before it's back up anyway, if you ever get it at all.

Me too. I guess I was one of the lucky ones who pre-ordered a badge for FWA and she gave it to me.

Also, someone who couldn't come to FWA asked me to ask her for stuff this artist didn't send her for months. I got some of the stuff from her, but a few were still missing.

Also, for future reference, DON'T GIVE ARTISTS YOUR BADGE(S).

ESPECIALLY if they're original art.

We have color printers and easily reproducible reference sheets for this sort of thing. Even if it's fifty cents a copy, a stack of these will go a long way to prevent getting burned at a furry convention.

Was this in the dealer's room or artist alley? If you do end up not getting your stuff back, report to con staff. This individual should not be allowed to have dealer space, especially when there are honest people who are put on waiting lists for space. :[

In the future, yes PLEASE make copies of whatever references you'll be using at a convention. Artists prefer it and the added stress of leaving your 'favorite badge' does not happen.

Eh, would just like to throw in that I've commissioned her a couple of times (one being my icon), and I've gotten them with no trouble. She has a bad record but not EVERYTHING is a horror story.

To offer information that's a bit different: If she does contact you about resolving this as a result of this community (which has happened before), she will likely ask you to delete this post as part of the deal.

Do not do it. It is against the rules of the community and could get you banned.

Let her know you can add a note at the end to mark the post as resolved, but not delete it.

I agree with this. Besides if she DOES ask for the post to be deleted, well that wasn't part of the original deal of buying a commission was it? To dictate what the buyer can/can't post. (I'm assuming)

I have to say, when I commissioned her for a bust of my character, I got it a week or two after my payment cleared. She was relatively quick about it, and very sweet throughout the ordeal. :)

I told Con staff about this on Saturday because the same happened to a friend of mine. Her and Panda left early due to "sickness". But the good news is that she was in the dealers den so she is bounded by contract to do the art or give a refund seeing as all the money made there is taxed by the state. Or something like that.

Anyway my point is She was in the dealers den, con staff NOW knows she might run off with folks money, so they are watching for complaints.

Unfortunately Zeriara is very much a hit and miss artist, some people get their art super quick, others don't get anything. In future, might I suggest looking up who is going to be at the convention and doing a little research/planning out who you want to commission before hand. It'll save you worries like this.

Also get some reference sheets for your char made up and get a stack of colour copies of them, a colour photocopy is easy to replace, an original piece of artwork? Not so much. (Also artists will thank you for it, working from a nice clear reference sheet is an absolute godsend)
