First time posting here, but after stumbling onto this user's journal I thought a heads up to this community might not be a bad idea.
User is JinDragonWolf (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/jindragowolf/) - they posted a journal about how they may cancel their current commissions since they have been taking so long and "not feeling up to them", and then start over with higher prices to get a Wacom. Oh, and they can't afford to give refunds at this time either.

If I made any errors in posting this, please let me know! I checked the community info and don't think I broke any rules...

Date: 2010-04-23 07:59 pm (UTC)Also how would you feel if someone canceled your commission, couldn't pay you back, then opened commissions so they could buy something for themselves? I know I'd be upset. Not only am I not getting the art that I've already had to wait for, but now I don't even know when I'm getting my money back. And if I really still wanted the art, I'd have to pay even MORE to get what I should have gotten in the first place?
The artist should have talked to his commissioners gave them a choice of waiting for a refund, or just wait it out on the art, vs making a post saying how much they really don't give a shit about the people that have outstanding orders.

Date: 2010-04-23 08:03 pm (UTC)I wouldn't be commissioning furry art anyway, so I guess I don't have to worry about that.

I know if I knew the situation I wouldn't want to get anything from them no matter how great the art was, because they could turn around and do the same thing at any point again. Saying and doing are completely different things.

Date: 2010-04-23 08:10 pm (UTC)I don't commission people who do art 'as a hobby'. If I commission someone (rarely) I commission people who do art for a living, like I do.
That's fine. That's your opinion. :O I can think of a number of reasons that that sort of thing might happen and be appropriate so.

Date: 2010-04-23 08:41 pm (UTC)If I do need to just use the funds, I say I need funds for x, so that way people are in the loop.
With that said, I actually need to get off the net and work on one now! :)
