Greetings, it's been awhile... last time I made a post concerning Jace/Brian Harp and backpedaled for personal reasons but now I think it's important to let know others of my story.

I commissioned him since the start of February 2009, I made a mistake by trusting him, he got the money not too long and the promise of art but I was deceived by his wit so I believed he would do art some point but that never happened. At the end of the journal I'll attach screencaps of the transactions which add up around 240 dollars. Judging from his past he has tricked a good handful of people for a greater sum of money and nothing but unsound promises of art or money guarantee.

We used to get along very well in the past, I can only imagine worse treat for those that kept it at a business level. I won't divulge much but I know him well enough to know that there's concept of 'giving' in his personality, one who has spent a considerable time with him should know this. I tried helping him when he had a bad financial situation, in the end I was 'enabling' and feeding his insecurity, he's currently job-less and lives by the charity of others.

I used to respect him as a friend, I was nothing but a mean to his ends. I don't know whether to feel contempt or pity for him for he will continue to psychologically torture his self for commodities at the expense of others. I apologize if it comes across as too personal but I think it's fair to do him a favor by stopping any means of enabling and warning others of his destructive behavior for they might get ripped off as I did out of an act of 'generosity' and belief of him being a professional artist.

We agreed that I would pay for his lego figures for art. Afterwards I agreed on paying a debt he had for 70 again for art so I hope that explains a bit better, I forgot I didn't have the logs for that and I apologize for the confusion

Oookay. Basically I'm still getting "gave him money, didn't get art, now he's a jerk" out of this. Do you have a timeline, contacts, how many times you did contact him, etc? The caps help as supplimentals but aside from that it's kind of hard to see aside from you got ripped off.

He stresses out that he doesn't work with time-lines, I kept in touch with him on a daily basis, I only asked for the art when I felt too much time passed and he said he would have something by December '09

I don't care what you make it out to be but it's a fact that he robbed me and I think it's fair to warn others, if people want to commission him still then by all means, it's not my money any more

Well, yes, you should warn others. However, actually knowing what occured does everyone a great deal in understanding what is going on here.

It is your money, however, and you should be seeking legal advice. Small claims, what have you.

Is there a story to this? I understand the gist of what you're telling us, but I want more proof than screencaps without context. Also your last post is an apology so it'd be nice to have context to know how you went from apologizing to him to actually warning people about him.

Because I found out he was taking commissions from other people while neglecting mine. He already had what he wanted so there was no reason for him to do anything about my art, depending the commissioner's personality and Jace's needs will determine the completion of art, if you are passive he will take advantage of that, only one who is assertive might be able to get him into art completion or if he is in dire need of money in other words... he knows who to trick and who to abide with

A number of artist_beware watchers/commenters started adding up what we had paid Jace, though that fizzled out as we approached $1,000. I'm sure the amount paid to him with nothing to show for it is much higher.

Have you guys started a trouble ticket with FA? If you have receipts and stuff, they tend to frown upon users who have a habit of abusing their commissioners
