I am posting for MiranWolf on FA (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/miranwolf/), as he does not have an LJ account.

He commissioned Olisnowpaw (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/olisnowpaw) in November 2008 for a $50 piece. She has not delivered the art, and apparently has made excuses, such as claiming that the art she owes Miran was gift art and not a commission. He has a copy of his Paypal receipt here: http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc361/theUBERtah/Receipt.jpg

Unfortunately I cannot provide examples of attempted contact between them, as apparently she has deleted Miran's comments and subsequently blocked him from contacting her further.
Questions may be directed to Miran via FA.

EDIT: This issue has been resolved. :]

I think http://jenkesh1.deviantart.com/ is her deviantArt, not sure if she has a more current one. If it's the same person, http://jenkesh.livejournal.com/ was her lj last I knew. Not that contacting her on either of those will do any good if she is ignoring him.

I'm not seeing a fee showing in his payment to her, so does that mean he sent it as a gift? He also mentions in his journal that Paypal refused to refund him because it "wasn't the right kind" of payment.

It also mentions in the $50 payment receipt that it is only a down payment, for a "system of commisions." Not just giving her money for no reason.

There's a comment on his shouts from her saying "You said it was a gift, but hey, thanks for trying to cause yet more drama for me considering my current situation. Way to show what a fantastic friend you are." Weird, considering the note he attached to his payment.

Would love to hear olisnowpaw's side; I don't know her well but she's always come across as friendly to me. It bothers me that the note he sent on the payment vs. the note she's left on his page don't jive. :/

Just to confirm, that DA account would be her. There's artwork that I commissioned from her on FA posted there.

Sorry to hear this about olisnowpaw. I had commissioned from her before and aside from a detail she forgot which she was willing to correct I had no issues with her.

If the customer feels he has substantial evidence that it was a commission, that Oli has been hiding her comments (remember admins can still see them), and paypal refuses assistance as they paid through the wrong method then I suggest bringing it up to the admins on FA (presuming that you initially made the deal there). They could potentially ban her for using their services to cover up that it wasn't a commission.

Hope it clears up.

I notice in that screengrab of the receipt that no fee was taken, wish suggests to me that it was sent as a gift. Unfortunately that means that your friend will not be able to open a dispute with PayPal about this.

I hope that he gets his money's worth, but maybe inform him to avoid sending payments via PayPal as gifts in the future. In a situation like this it just opens up a whole new batch of problems. :(

...I don't know. I'd probably need some screengrabs of conversations before making my mind up fully. At the moment it seems more like a misunderstanding/mix-up in communication (evidence as to why I think this below)

I noticed in the journal of MirianWolf (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1803531/) one of the comments by MirianWolf says:

"No Ive known the person for four years. It was started 2 years ago, and months later after she spurred me once already I asked for the money back and chewed her out. I was merciful and said that she could keep the money to help her situation long as the commission was done.
...IM STILL WAAAAITING....But it dont matter anymore cause now Im out Fifty Bucks and it'll be worth it so long as people know not to trust this artist..." (emphasis is mine)

Screencaps of the conversation where this was agreed on would probably be good. Also explains why the artist believes their commission was gift-art, since it technically is (also since the only money given was the $50 down payment and not the full amount (whatever the full amount was since it's not specified)

Okay this thread can be cut and closed. The whole situation was taken care of very peacefully. Oli agreed to return my money and we will just simply part ways civilly now. For those of you looking to commission her, Commission her she still does a great job artistically, this phiasco was just an unfortunate one that hopefully with my apologies for bringing it public, wont tarnish her reputation worse than it could have been.

TL:DR? Problem Solved, Oli's Art still is good never the less.

Thank you Kayla La...Someone like Oli wont have any problem fixing a small abrasion like this on a reputation. She's a good artist.

Sorry about being off topic, but while I completely agree things shouldn't be deleted, are there exceptions? Like, let's say it's just a total mistake and miss communication, or maybe the commissioner jumped the gun when nothing was wrong.

There's usually no need for deletion. Posts can be tagged as resolved and edited in to say 'Whoops, my bad!' but we prefer having a paper trail for names so there is a history there if things happen in the future.

That said, if someone wants to email one of us, we can take it to the mod comm and discuss it amongst ourselves. We're not unreasonable.

Just for the record.

The second time I spoke with Miran in IMS concerning the commission he had told me 'not to worry about it'. He never brought it up again until all this happened.

This whole situation stems from poor communication. Yes, I deleted his post, because I had JUST moved out of the apartment I shared with my ex after a VERY harsh break up and I certainly was not in the emotional state to deal with his attacks.

You can ask anyone who has commissioned me in the last two years, I don't even accept payment until the artwork is complete. I have never ever had any complaints other than his, which seems to have only come up because of internet rumors and drama.
