[identity profile] spirit86.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] artists_beware
I don't often post in here, but I felt it nessessary this time.

About a year and a half ago I accepted a trade with www.redfeatherhusky.deviantart.com

I completed my half of the trade within a month. She sent me her address for me to send it to her, and I told her I would just as soon as she finished her half as well.

I've been working my ...butt... off trying to get in touch with her. Notes on DA, emails... for a while I thought she was offline... until I noticed that she's still been uploading artwork. She REFUSES to reply to any form of contact.

Then she has the balls to sign up for my art site.

I KNOW she is active online, she simply REFUSES to reply to my inquiries. I started off being nice about it, but then I sent her a warning that I would make this whole thing public, then I posted a public "where is my trade from that year or so back?" and now... still nothing.

So I post a public warning here. I would HIGHLY reccomend not participating in a trade with Ms. Albert... and honestly, I don't know how her commission skills could be any better if she treats other artists like this.

She hasn't been replying much because of some problems she's been going through, and has recently moved and doesn't have a computer right now. I sometimes procrastinate on trades as well because I'm trying to get them right, and I'm distracted by some problems that are going on, or the job I now have.

...But, see, if shes uploading artwork, obviousely she has computer access, and should have the decency to reply to Spirit86's inquiries. Her last upload was in June, so perhaps her move was recent, however it looks like spirit has been waiting more then just since June..

Just a thought.

Hello there :/

I'd like to let you know that right now I have very little access to the computer right now. I just made a move from Virginia to California and right now I own NO art supplies, my parents have illegally taken all my belongings and left me with absolutely nothing. I've been struggling in the past few months to just make ends meet and get food on the table, all the art I've done in the past few months has been strictly for the purpose of paying bills.

I signed up to your website to remind myself later to go through with the process of being an artist there. I like the idea you had, and signing up for the message board was a way to remind me to go ahead with it later when I have time.

I'd also like to point out that I have not received a single email from you, and I just noticed you sent me three notes on deviantart. Gee thanks for waiting the five days like you claimed in the note to post a warning about me.

But anyways, your badge is nearly done, I'm just waiting to put some decent backing on it. I painted it with acrylic, I hope you dont mind but its all I really have. However, I do not own a scanner to scan it so if you would like it you'll have to send me your address.

*huggles*

I hope this little problem gets resolved soon. I'm behind on some stuff too, but it's because my art has been sucking egg lately and I'm HORRIBLE at anatomy... especially hands :(

Anyways I'll be praying that you can get some new stuff soon, especially a new computer. Bein' without a comp sucks the cunt.

A commissioner's perspective

As a commissioner, I'd echo the same issues, though I do note that she finally came through with an email today after six-plus months of silence.

Still, it's been a year to the day now that I won a commission auction from her. While things went well enough up initially, after the initial sketchwork was approved and payment was made the communication lags started. The last communication I received was in January wherein she stated the piece was done save for a few details that would be completed within a week. I've still nothing to show for it save a pair of pencil sketches.

I do understand that life can take surprising turns, but the lack of follow through (while still posting new artwork) and the silence to attempts to communicate are rather annoying. It doesn't take much effort to reply simply to say that things are delayed, and that would have been perfectly acceptable to me.

I'll certainly note if things are closed out successfully down the road, but I'd echo the caution of the first post of the thread.
