Akeyla issues

I commissioned Akeyla at eurofurence last year [early september]

I gave her a reference sheet of my character [original image, not a print] I didn't have any prints, as I wasn't planning on getting art of the character originaly

I had to leave earlier than expected from EF and thus couldn't collect the art from her

I messaged her after I had gotten home and settled back down, and recieved a reply stating that she would send it out ASAP

I was never given a scan, or even a photo of the image, and it has not yet arrived, same with my reference sheet, which she acknowledged that she has... I messaged her again on FA, soon after she made a journal saying that she would be leaving, and she deleted most of her art from he page, I asked around and found her DA page and noted again, yet I have not recieved a reply.... she has posted things since I noted, which was 3 weeks ago, this is the note I sent:


'hey there, this is shadowsani from FA... i haven't recieved the artwork yet [female kitsune sketch] or my reference sheet back, have you sent them yet? and if so, do you have any proof that you did?'

I was wondering if anyone around was in good contact with akeyla so I could get my art and reference sheet back? I don't actualy have that reference sheet scanned, and I would like it back for future reference of the character :(

Akeyla is a friend of mine, I know she recently had to write a thesis and bought a house, so she's probably crazy-go-busy. I'll send her a note and let her know about this post.
Sorry for the delay, I'm sure she'll get this sorted as soon as she can.

As a side note, you might want to consider making some disposable copies of the reference sheet for future use; if the original artist of the character sheet is fine with it and you have a digital file, most photo places that allow you to print from digital files can run off a few nice copies for cheap.

its my own art, traditional... I took it with me as an example of what a reference sheet commission would look like, but I ended up using it for a commission because I like the way akeyla draws female figures

I take pictures (camera or cell phone) and write down additional notes when taking commissions at cons. I don't keep original art anymore. Period. If you don't have disposable copies of your art, you might try getting the artist to take a photo of your reference art. :) Just a thought. <3

It was my art n.n; i didn't bring anything to record the image on to EF, had to travle quite light, 4 people in a car travling from england to germany gets rather cramped

Sorry you misunderstood. :)

What I was saying is maybe you could have held on to the reference sheet, and asked the artist to take a picture with a cell phone camera, webcam, or a camera instead of giving the original.

That's what I do with my customers, so I am not in possession of originals.

Akeyla in the last months been very busy. Also if my recollection is well, her school wasn't easy as well.

I wish you can get your art soon... just if some situations changes someone's life, there will be chaos immediately.

Meh, really it should be on /Akeyla/ to notify /you/ of what's going on, not you to chase down her journals and read through them all. But hopefully this was just an unusual lapse for her and she'll get your stuff to you very soon.

yes, I have been very busy, I'm sorry this has been taking so long. I had it set ready and decided to add something for your long wait, I set it aside to safety and unfortunately forgot about it, or to put it this way, after Eurofurence I basically killed/blacked out everything in my doing that was not in relation with my school (that and an occasional drawing for myself to keep me sane). It is my fault to not have contacted you about it, and you have every right to be mad at me. I am myself.
I have your whole pack here (including the refs) and I will get it sent to you by this week. This time for sure. Again, I am really very sorry.

thankyou for the reply! sorry about missing the journals regarding the tests/moving, my fiancé is in uni and being hammered with tests at the moment too, so I know how busy things can get and how stressful they can be.

as long as its not forgotten and sent out soon, its all good, focus on your studies more if you need to :)
