My 3rd paid commission with http://www.furaffinity.net/user/cirrus was left unfinished after two events. One, his monitor conked out on him, so it had to be put on hold until he could get it replaced. And because I know I need to say it.. Do not start drama here, anybody. Asking questions and the like is fine, but don't cause problems JUST because it's Allan. This is everyone's only warning to this.

That said, feels like a beware to me. He should at least give you a refund if he's not willing to work with you anymore. He doesn't just get to keep your money and give you nothing (or a messed up product, in this case) in return.

1. People cannot see NSFW images on Inkbunny if they are not a member, as I've mentioned before.
2. A screenshot is infinitely preferable over a copy&pasta, as the screenshot is harder to edit and therefore more believable.

FWIW, it's starting to seem like you might be after people who have bailed on you because of your reputation, and if this is part of your attempt to prove to people you've changed, it's not the way to do it.

I get that these people have blocked you and you have no way to get in touch with them and posting here might be a last resort, but two posts in as many days feels a little strange.

The lack of screenshot in this case was because he had a screenshot, and it was the user's Facebook and revealed a bit too much personal information. I have seen said screenshot when he first attempted to post this entry.

Unless I see some screen shots, instead of your lazy attempts of providing evidence, I am really not likely to believe you.

Things that would be good to post screenshots of. (Here, I will help you..):
The original commission agreement (what the commission was, and in what form it was to be rendered..Colored digital. Traditional inks. ETC ). Also the date when this was agreed upon.
The price agreed upon.
The deadline, if any.
Attempts to contact this person on your part.
Their responses to you.
Your attempt to make contact with them again. (The facebook screenshot would be great. Block out their name if you don't want to compromise any IRL identities. )

These are my suggestions. I think they'd help you prove your case immensely.

OK so you say the green is missing from the image and you only knew that based on what the artist told you, do you actually feel the image is lacking in some way? If there aren't any areas that need to be green on the image, there's a good chance adding back the green channel wouldn't make it look different or better. What is the point in pursuing an alteration to the image that won't really make any difference?

This is not to cause any problems, but I just want to say I've know Cirrus for many years in the fandom and I have always observed his work ethic at conventions and such to be great. There may be a little more to the story here. <=)

Most people don't fly off the handle like that unless they're provoked, and as per usual we're not getting the whole conversation here. We have one really unprofessional message from the artist and no explanation as to why he felt the need to respond like that.

Can we please get some sort of standard ideal complaint? I'm tired of seeing submissions that are "he said, she said", artists_beware is supposed to have standards, and people complaining really need to have some form of evidence.

Case in hand, here we have a post where unverified second hand information is relayed by one party who doesn't even seen to know what the problem actually was or have any evidence for it, for many of this person's posts we have little evidence except for his 'word' and speaking as nicely as possible, the OP's reputation prior to this makes it essential that he provides some basis for his complaints.

If anyone else came in with this kind of lackluster "oh so and so isn't being my free image storage service" complaints, it wouldn't be acceptable either much less someone with a history of less than mature responses when he feels slighted.

Ok after reading through the comments, from what I understand Allan at first saw nothing wrong with the image until Cirrus mentioned his broken monitor. After this was mentioned, Allan looked at the piece and the more he did, the more he decided he wanted it changed.

Depending on the time between the commission being finished and Allan wanting it changed, I don't see it unreasonable. If Allan thinks the couch is too blue and would like the couch colored changed in something he paid money for, I see no problem in that.

However, given how two of the three bewares posted by him on this community seem a little fishy (this one included) I am inclined to believe he just lost high-res copies of artwork he liked and is mad that the original artists do not have the copies anymore and want nothing to do with him.

That aside, if it's the green that's missing (in which case, just the eye color is gone) then why not learn some basic photo shop skills and change the color?

So let me get it straight:

Something is missing in the image, but you don't really understand what it is, but you want it fixed or a refund or...something.

Said artist blocked you, but we have no evidence as to why.

You want high-res files of free art, that the artist is not obligated to give you.

And you want to make a beware out of all this? I'm sorry. but this is very petty and doesn't really feel solid. Your evidence is lacking, and your story seems to change often. I suggest learning how to organize your information, save your commissions more efficiently, and perhaps...commissioning less. I just can;t understand why this is a beware when you yourself don't even seem to get whats wrong with the commission other then "g" is missing.

Please, please, please...before making more posts on this community, do a bit more research on your case and present solid evidence and no more he-sad-she-sad stuff. I want stuff resolved, if there really is something to be resolved but your posts really aren't making much sense to me.

Besides the other stuff (vague complaints about color and not getting resent a high-res file long after the commission was complete), what is the point of the 2nd screenshot there? The FA (shout? Comment?) from FoxBolt talking about Zaush? You say "he replied via Facebook" and yet that is not from cirrus nor on Facebook. So what does that have to do with anything?

Artist's monitor was wonky but apparently the art was fine and Allan is hung up on some perceived thought that because the artist said their monitor was wonky, it's missing the "G" in RGB.

The colors on the contested commission (NSFW) (http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=24zvy2w&s=7) and a previous, uncontested commission by the same artist (http://lupineassassin.deviantart.com/art/Big-Ups-To-The-Fox-by-Cirrus-136061740) are EXACTLY THE SAME.
I mean EXACTLY. The fur and the bandana have the same hex numbers. They are the same color.
I will bet that the eyes are the same color too (important because sometimes they are green), but the res is too small on the inkbunny cap to get a real good sample. But I do see a hint of color and it is similar to the old pic.
It is safe to say THE MONITOR ISSUE DID NOT AFFECT THIS COMMISSION.

If your problem with the artist is that they were rude to you, or would not resend you the high res picture after you lost it than say that. Don't make up problems with a picture that don't exist.

From what I'm reading in the threads above, all that happened is Cirrus mentioned that the green in his monitor was dead, and now Allan is convinced that there must be something wrong, when really, there isn't, because monitors can't affect stored data.

Look under the thread shukivengeance began, where Allan replied. It's clear that he doesn't know what is wrong, yet simply believes something is wrong and that he is being shorted. The biggest complaint that he is able to muster is "the couch is too blue" and "now I don't like the background."

I'm really getting sick of Allan's "he said, she said" type posts. I thought AB needs hard proof like emails, PMs and Notes caps, not copy and past random notes he found. To me, Allan is trying to cause drama with all the Artists because said artists block him after getting artwork from the artists.

Plus all of his posts are spamming my Friends page. I feel bad for all the artists who he posted about.

We require SOMETHING, but it's never really been in the rules that we require all sorts of screencaps of everything ever. This has been a recent phenomenon in AB that people have really been wanting some things.

I am...Very confused. What was meant to be "G" in the picture? The background?? Were the eyes meant to be green and not black?

I've tried reading through these massive comment threads, but I still don't understand the problem. Apparently the hex codes match those of another picture of the same character, so..? Can someone help me here? I'm completely lost and honestly curious about what the problem is. x_x

There's nothing actually wrong with the pictures. Allan is simply convinced that somehow, because the artist's monitor was bad, there must be something wrong with the picture even though there is nothing he can even see wrong.

Enough is enough. This is the only time I will be posting to this thread. I wanted to clear the air and give everyone my side of this situation, even though in all honesty what Allan is complaining about here is old news, well over four years old.

If I recall correctly, I had a monitor issue at the time and couldn't get some colors accurate. Money was short at the time and it was a good while before I fixed that problem. But by that time, Allan's behavious was getting more obsessive and at times unhinged. Frankly, he made me uneasy at times and at some points fearful.

Frankly I just wanted him to go away and leave me be. The picture was colored, and I considered it done. If this makes me a horrible person, so be it. I normally go out of my way to accomodate people. But Allan had since moved from just harassing to stalking... using multiple IM handles, harassing anyone he thought was connected to me, and even found my unlisted Facebook account which isn't related to furry at all. His behavior was and still is at best unsettling and at worst downright frightening.

Finally, almost a year later, I had hoped that things would finally calm down again. Then his smear appeared in Artists Beware, his one-sided and edited version of what went on. I really don't want to give his grudges the time of day, but I have seen that there are moderators of the forum who are now accusing me of avoiding the issue. Maybe they are right to a degree, but what I am really avoiding is Allan and his unstrung and unstable encounters.

So, it may not be a solution, and I may be an asshole, but here is where things stand on the picture in question, from my point of view, and clearly from the point of view of the majority here. It was done over four years ago, and Allan used it on several occasions as his avatar. He also proudly posted the image in several places. Those actions show to me that he considered it finished enough to show off. And I consider that image completed. End of story.

I am not "dancing around it," as a moderator here put it. I held up my end of the bargain and completed a commission for a flighty, unstable and abusive customer. Period. If this is unacceptable to the mods, so be it.

Thank you, that's all I was looking for. It was strange to me when you didn't seem to want to answer a simple yes or no question. All I had wanted to know was whether you had said you would fix something, or whether you had considered it completed at the time, as the correspondence gave the impression that it might not be fully finished. That's all the 'avoidance' and 'dancing around' stuff was about, that you didn't seem to want to clarify on that one single point that I felt was important here.

You're not an asshole because of this, no. And thank you for coming in and clarifying. I consider this resolved now and will be updating the tags to reflect such.

Mods, you can block of warn me about this but the more I read these posts, the more it looks obvius to me of the following:
note..... take this as a graint of salt since its just my humble opinion..
all these post were sent by him... because of the following:

1.- Allan lost the original files, could be due of his laptop problem or just his incompetence for making backups.
2.- most artist wanted to clean their hands due of the allan drama(remember artists were harrased by people just because they had pictures of allan or did commissions for allan), and thus deleted the images from the gallery and probably trashed the originals.
3.- Allan as been pestering the artists to get the files again, most artists got annoyed and started blocking him. (we know that allan can get pushy..)
also not everyone keeps the originals that much time..
4.- since he couldnt get a yes, he decided to try to pest the artist in another way..
claiming bogus "its unfinished"
"he did not send".
and using the extremely generic paypal payments, plus the "she said he said" kind of arguments because he claims he as no more proof or screenshots (which I find extremely rare he has of some.. but not of the rest.. its like he's hiding something..)
5.- and thus creating the AB posts trying to use us (like he tried to use many other people to do his way.. like using third party to convince dragoneer to let him in FA.. even using friend's accounts witouth their knowledge..) to force his way onto the artists and get what he wants (the pictures again..in full resolution)

TL;DR:
.. he pestered artist.. artist got annoyed, artist blocked him since the "transfer" and the "commission" was finished, but we know that Allan is very pushy... Allan tries third party members to comunicate, got more people blocking him.. then decides to make an AB post to force his way...
he finally makes contact with the artists.. then starts to ask for hi-res originals.

I wouldnt be surprised if this happened with the last AB post as well (after he finally got in contact...)

I wanted to avoid posting here entirely, but I can attest that this is something Allan would do. He tried to use me in the past to contact Dragoneer on his behalf. I wouldn't put it past him to make these posts just to pester these artists further.
