RESOLVED! I got in touch with her on her twitter and it turns out my partial is on it's way to her to be worked on :) Thank you to those who gave me her twitter, much much appricated!

Hey all,

I commissioned a partial from Mango back in mid-late 2010 (dates aren't fully important at the moment) and I told her that I wanted it for Confuzzled 2011 (Early May) - I've had communication problems with her in the past, where my emails went unanswered and prompting me to email her a few more times, which was solved when I added her to my aim, however recently over the past two weeks I've not seen her come onto AIM, or if she is, she is away, so I leave a message asking for updates in a polite manner, which go unanswered.

I'm getting a little worried that my partial won't be done in time for confuzzled =( because as it stands now there's five weeks left, and all I have seen of my partial is a foamed head and part of the tail - no handpaws nor feetpaws.

I'm wondering if anyone's seen her around? =/

Yep! They were just at FWA and debuted at least one new suit there (mine!! :D) and are now chillin out in Florida for a little while. I think she is still working on suits down there.

He is beautiful and I love him! Just needs a couple things altered, which she has graciously agreed to do without any problems. ^^ Her work is extremely professional and cleverly made! I think you'll really enjoy the suit you receive.

They were posted about recently in this community for the same issue (lost contact, unanswered emails) which you can access through the tag. Despite the whole "she's busy" and "you can get in touch with her on twitter" it's still pretty crappy to not return a customers emails regarding a deadline.

I will agree with this.
It's part of the business to keep good contact at least I assume it was. (Maybe Good work > Keeping contact/deadlines in some eyes? I dunno.)

I commented in that post when it was posted, and since this is a different product and a different person it's happened to, I thought I'd make a post saying my problems with her - I do agree, it's horrible being kept waiting for a reply from her :(

Ah ok, I wasn't sure if you had seen it. I'm glad you made another post so people can see that the issues with communication have not been resolved. Not glad that you're in the dark about a deadline.

yeah I found her photo album and in three weeks or a month? the only thing I've seen that's been done to my head is the nose's been made - granted I do understand she's busy with other suits, but... a month for a nose? =/

I suppose if worse comes to worse I do have a partial of sorts... (just a pair of ears and a tail) of my red panda character, but it won't be what I was hoping to have for Confuzzled >_<

Definitely agreed. I hate it when people are excused of bad behaviour just because they're popular or make good stuff. Bad customer service is bad customer service, no matter who you are or how nice your stuff is. It's okay to be frustrated with being ignored for weeks to months on end.

I know and I meant to send an apology to the mods for being a broken record in the last few posts but I'm really getting tired of it. All I'm seeing her is someone who was having bad service a few weeks ago...and is still having bad service.

This x 100. It's incredibly irresponsible for someone to expect their customers to follow every social networking site searching for updates. I don't get the lack of business sense. <=/ You take a money for a product, answer your customer's questions in a professional manner. Not hard.

What kills me too is if I ordered an item from someone like amazon.com and instead of answering my questions I'd have to hunt all over the net, make a twitter account and download AIM to *still* not get a response in regards to where my stuff is I would never use their service again! I would warn my friends away from them too. I'm not sure why furries think this person gets a free pass when they've come down hard on other people in the fandom for doing the exact same thing.

Maybe it's just because that she delivers in the end, unlike other artists with the same business practices? Not defending at all, I personally find that exceptionally rude, but just offering an idea as to why people would feel this is okay.

I still think it has to do with her "popularity".
It's bad enough to tie up someone elses funds (that could be collecting interest in a bank account or buying other things) but it's exceptionally bad business to be out of contact with your own customers. It's not the artist's money until a product is delivered. That's why customer service is so important.
The other post about her isn't marked as resolved. I felt like commenters were more than happy to jump all over that poster with quips like "You're paranoid it's only been a month that you havn't heard from her!" when that OP was concerned about a size change. Now we have another post with another person concerned about making a deadline and we still have comments about giving the artist slack.
I've been in the same boat with another company. They eventually delivered a hat that I wear almost everyday but I will never recommend them because I remember how upsetting it was to never get any emails or shipping details and having to write something I really wanted off as a lost cause.

Unless her communication stuff is resolved, I wouldn't order anything else in the future. I really like what she does, but I'm disappointed that I've had these paid off for a while with little contact, etc.

I'm kind of a cheapskate, so these two kigus being a what...500+$ investment? is really nervewracking

She can be a little bit difficult to get ahold of sometimes, and she did actually miss my original deadline.. But all in all, she never completely looses contact and I would still get more products from her in the future as I am suuupeerrr happy with mine!
(She even paid to have it over-nighted to me in time for another convention I was going to. Though I wound up getting snowed in due to a blizzard.. .__.)

Also twitter does seem to be the best way to get ahold of her, e-mails are easily lost if you get too many D:

My deadline of FWA was missed for a pair of Kigus, and I'm a little sad about it, but she did mention that she would be working on them shortly and I think she said something about doing a pair of badges as well to make up for it, if I'm remembering correctly.

She's in Florida for a month, but having some of her stuff send to her to work on I believe. I would recommend emailing her again and catching her on AIM if you can, just to make sure she recognizes the deadline.

I'm actually curious about this too; I had been planning on commissioning her and had discussed it via notes on FA, and after a bit she wanted me to use emails instead. I returned her email (a bit late on my part, I do admit) and expressed how I planned to pay for the commission and asked if the payment plan I suggested was acceptable. I never heard back from her, and it's been a few months now. I haven't paid for any of the commission yet, but I wasn't sure if she no longer wanted to do the commission or had some qualm about my payment plans/inquiry.

I realize she does get really busy between all her Kigu and suit commissions; I just feel a little disappointed because I has been wanting this commission from her for some time and spent just as long saving for it. I suppose I could have sent her another email, but I didn't want to harass her since I had paid nothing thus far and wasn't entirely sure if she was busy, or just rejected the commission.

She admits that's she's bad with emails because she's always on her mobile when she's working, so she has trouble answering them. I've commissioned her as well, but even though contact is sparse and more through twitter, I know in the end that product will get here. I've commissioned her in the past with similar results. She got really busy and had some IRL problems lately, so she slowed down quite a bit, but she's trying to get back on track. :) Contacting her through twitter or AIM is the best way to grab her attention!

Just another person to pitch in and say yes, she can be hard to get a hold of/bad at getting back to you, but she just keep going at her and she will. I've never been disappointed with any commission/item received from her, and she remains one of the only people I am happy enough with, and trust enough to commission for the stuff she does.
