Refunds from Starfinder.

ETA May 08: Dragoneer has told me he is giving her until next Friday, the 13th, to make substantial progress or he will close her account.

I have been speaking with Dragoneer on FA about Starfinder and her scamming. He has told me he is making her give refunds, and that she will be banned if she doesn't, and doesn't give them in a reasonable timeframe. She is also not allowed to take commissions via FA while this is going on.

Here are his words:

I've outright told her to refund anybody who requests on from her, and to provide a realistic date as to when they'll get a refund.

I would suggest encouraging people who want refunds from her to post on that journal, and to request a refund with dates/times. If she has no intent on refunding people that alone will be her undoing. I'd like to hope that there can be a good outcome in the end, but I do see your point of view. If she's outright not intent on paying people back or delivering, I'll fully come out and say as such and provide as much evidence as I can to back you, AB and to be able to be used on any other site she may be on.

Unfortunately, I need the evidence on FA itself, and a solid track record. If people post for refunds... don't get them, that alone'll be the damning factor here.

Starfinder needs to give people a realistic date for a refund. If she can't give people a date up front, and stick to that date...

So yeah. People should go "I want a refund, my contact info is..."

She already did the "but, my rent!" thing with me. I told her that wasn't my problem. If she can't deliver she's gone. I'm not playing around.

DO NOT harass her. This is not a post to say 'it's okay to go pester her'. This is a post for people to get their issues resolved. I expect you all to handle this like adults, anybody found harassing her because of this post will be banned.

Because of her habit of hiding comments nowadays, I would recommend that any of you that post on her journal also post here, especially with a refund date she gives you, so you have a proper record and we can go back to it if she breaks her promises. If you don't get a refund in a good timeframe, leave a comment here and note Dragoneer immediately.

Again, POST YOUR REFUND REQUESTS HERE FIRST: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2284785/ and then come back here and copy and paste your correspondence with her so we can all keep a record of it.

While I don't agree with not just banning her outright at this point, I am happy with the idea that things might finally be resolved for people, and I fully intend to do everything in my power to make sure something comes of this, unlike all the other times somebody tried to take action.

I agree. I'm much happier that things are getting resolved, people are getting their money, and artwork, rather then just banning her. I think she should be banned ANYWAY, but if its a choice between people getting their things, or banning or, I'd rather people get their stuff.

well, on the note of not banning her outright, I'm pretty sure that would be the fastest way to guarantee no one gets a refund.

She has an email that could be contacted (and in fact was demanding people contact so there wouldn't be records of her commissions on FA, for a while there). And not banning her doesn't guarantee anyone WILL get a refund. The point of banning her would be to cut off her supply of people to scam so it's not a continuous cycle. Some might take a loss, but it's better than continuing to give her victims to pick through.

I can't make her pay people back. I can't force her to refund people, but if she doesn't play by the rules, she's gone. No questions asked. I'm tired of this.

This is her chance, her last chance. She was perma-banned before, and came back singing "I Can Change" (think South Park soundtrack). Then things were good for a while.

So, we'll see. If people request refunds... and nothing comes out of 'em... she's gone.

That's her MO. Does just enough to get people looking away, and then goes right back into her old habits... that's why she's been able to get away with things for 8+ years.

I do hope even if she refunds everyone now and things are 'good for a while' and then she starts up again, you won't give her another chance, though. She's had plenty.

I also admit I'm a little uncomfortable with her hiding comments as much as she does. It's not necessary at all and she's the type to hide things.

I would also like to note for anyone telling her anything, to ensure that you're put on her list. As it appears with Dipper, she's claiming Dipper never said a word to her -ever- when Dipper actually DID reply to that journal.

I want to make sure Star gets the credit she's due, so I am being hopeful that she just forgot that Dipper contacted her...

The moment that she 'returned' and there was the slightest whiff of this crap starting again she should have been gone. Rebanning is way overdue and should happen even if she does refund everyone imo. Regardless, I'm glad that FA is run by people who are willing to do something about this stuff. That's worth something.

I had mixed feelings about them outright banning her, mostly because this way of doing it is probably a better way of actually seeing some results in the form of refunds. If she was banned outright, people are out their money/owed artwork and there's nothing to hold over her head. If its "refund OR ELSE" then it will light a fire under her butt to make things right, and at least some people might see results. Very likely not all, though I sincerely hope I'm proven wrong, but it's better than nothing.

Ugh. I don't understand what's so hard about treating the fandom as a legitimate business transaction...that's real money changing hands, it's not play money.

While this is a good move in the right direction, I Still find really sad that Dragoneer had to finally pull her arm and force her to do it. And even worse when that "but my reeeent!" excuses started flying again...

What I really don't like is that the fourth person from the top has a note on it saying "your email bounced back, please contact me to fix this!" No, Star, you need to contact THEM to get the problem fixed.

I think that if she's allowed to continue to do business transactions through FA, she should have a really short leash, so to speak. Like a permanent reminder at the top of her profile saying to notify an admin immediately if she doesn't follow through with a business deal and action will be taken if the claim can be backed up.

Not saying that she SHOULD be allowed to keep doing business on FA by any means. *shrug* But it might help more people than her little list is going to help.

It an interesting idea but knowing her past history, she would just throw up her hands and cry poverty and no one would get anything.

This way there is a control valve on the whole situations (the admins) who can really keep an eye on her and her actions and hold her accountable for her actions which hasn't really happened up to this point.

I have a feeling that she is someone who works better under a deadline with someone with a metaphorical baseball bat over her head.
