Hey y'all -

Has anyone heard from this artist recently?

I commissioned her for three Halloween bust pieces way back in October; after a couple months without hearing anything I contacted her and asked for a change, since she hasn't started and Halloween had long since passed. She agreed, and then they never got done. Apparently she just forgot to do them. I can take caps of the notes if anyone really wants them.

I waited some more, and then asked for a refund in February, and she said she would as soon as she re-opened commissions. She did so about two months ago, and I've asked but she seems to have ignored my notes, and then disappeared.

I know she had some health problems so I mostly am just hoping she's okay. A refund would still be great since I know some artists who are hurting for cash, and I'd like to help them out.

Tell her that you know she's active on FB and seems to be ignoring you and question why.

You can message users on Facebook without being friends with them. You could hit her up with a private message on there.

I signed up when I first got into college, but I just am not on much anymore! Not really sure why. It sort of scares me, all the stories about personal information I've heard; that's definitely part of it.

I just try not to put my phone numbers or addresses on it. I also try not to use my credit card. If anything I use Facebook to play games now because it's one of few medium that not only saves my scores but my friends are willing to compete with me.

When did you have to have a college email? I made my first account in 05 and didn't need anything school related to sign up.

I made mine in 2004 and that was the last year you had to have a .edu on the end of your e-mail.

I've heard about her having trouble with commissions and especially with trades in the past, as well as heavily referencing/tracing over things. I never heard if she cleaned up though or not, though this definitely doesn't look good. :c

I'd suggest doing what hellebore said and call her out on ignoring you, maybe if she's active on facebook send her a message there first?

there are at least a couple uploads in her gallery that are really obvious traces (imo).. :/

I know she still owes me half a trade. She never responded to me, and after she asked me for the trade and did my half, she told me she was afraid to draw dragons (my character). I've heard the same from several people though. I think she took on too much and didn't care to finish. I've seen her posting of FA though on people's submissions, so she was at least semi active as of a couple of weeks ago.

Hmm... That's a pretty poor excuse, imho. I got contacted by another person wondering whether I'd heard from her; it seems she has basically just... stopped doing anything, art-wise.

She owes a good friend of mine a trade half... And also posted a raging journal about how said friend will not likely be getting the art Cicatrizesp owes her.. becuase she's too busy or something.

Lame. I used to like her style/character but now I've lost pretty much all respect because of her 'owed art' attitude.

I have no idea who you're talking about? Note me on FA or something. I'm pretty sure I've never told anybody whose done their half of a trade that they weren't getting art from me.

She tends to take too much on. She approached me about a trade a while back and took a looong time to get me her half, and it felt a little rushed when I got it (I do like it, though). It seems like she takes on a lot at once and gets overwhelmed, I think she's just an art lover that hasn't gotten a good feel for her own limits yet.

That said, it certainly doesn't excuse her bad habits, and she should at least be updating you about things. Ignoring customers is one of the worst things an artist can do, I wish they'd understand that.

Bought a traditional couples icon from her (Or it was a trade..) but I basically had to twist her arm to get her to scan and mail it to me. :\ Not surprised she's here.

Yuck. This is why I always try to get things out as fast as possible without sacrificing quality. . :/ It can be tough but it's your responsibility to know you're limits.

Sounds like to me this should be more of a beware than just lost contact, especially given the testimonies in the comments in regards to this artist. You've been patient long enough, hopefully you can get either art or a refund out of her.

i had a friend who had a lot of trouble getting a commission from her a little while back. she basically ignored any comments from her about it and then the product she (finally) got looked really rushed and awful (at least to me). :/ good luck.

Sorry for my delayed response but I've been hesitant to respond to this because I feel like an asshole in the first place. :/
First; yeah, I have had quite a few different health problems. I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I may have carpal tunnel, and I have several different dental problems.
Second; I do, as Kayla-la said, have a bad tendency to take too much on; I sell my art for cheap so that people can afford it. It's also the closest thing to income that I have. Hopefully I'm getting a job soon but since where I live has a pop. of less than 12k, it's been pretty rough.
Third; I realize that none of what I've said is any reason to not note you back on FA. I'm truly very sorry. I haven't drawn anything in about 4 months now, not because I haven't wanted to but because it feels like I just can't.
You shouldn't have to suffer for that though. I'll have your art to you within a month.

Again, I'm very sorry. :/
