Does she actually work down the list? I know several artists keep a list but don't necessarily work in that order, myself included (though mine is not public). And the fact she's not accepting new commissions is a good sign, but 8 months is a really long time for a pin-up, especially if it's digital work. You can give her a deadline to be shown at least a WIP, after which you want a refund.
At this point, all I want is the refund, as I could use it for other things right now. See the edit above, I have requested it. We'll see if gets ignored. I'll be updating this daily.
At this point I don't think sending a note once a day would be going too far. She said she doesn't read notes until she's ready to start on that person but that is just not a good system, and hopefully if you send them that constantly it'll get her to open one. It's her poor communication that would irk me more than having to wait. It's not as if she's kept you updated on the situation. :/
Absolutely ask for your refund, it's been too long without communication.
Really? A note a day? Well, if you look at the edit I've just posted, I've requested a full refund for the artwork I paid for upfront. I haven't been updated once. Anything else you think I should do? I'll be checking daily.
I don't think a note a day will get you anything but blocked. But a daily comment/shout maybe? Or weekly if you're worried they might report you for spamming.
If I recall correctly, her list is in alphabetical order, so being at the bottom doesn't mean much. Maybe send her a note asking how many people are in front of you in terms of getting art done and if it's too much just ask for a refund?
If anything I'd say its worse to take a month of if they're the primary source of income. If you do it for pocket money, you can just go without the pocket money for a month, if they're income, then you're in deep trouble as you're a month behind in work.
It's been 8 months. At this point the way her list is is just...wow. I've asked for a refund, the note has not been read. *sigh* And so begins the whole ignoring me thing. Again.
While she has been ignoring you tons so far, give her a little more time to actually read you're note. I mean, I checked her page, all I saw was a new picture posted 3 hours ago. It's not really that much activity. Unless I missed something of course.
For the list, is it possible she just hasn't updated it? I personally put a date of when my list was last updated, but most don't, so maybe she completed some stuff but you wouldn't know. (Then there's no point in a list, but, you get what I mean).
As long and confusing as her list is, it's not being properly represented. She's at the bottom because its alphabetical, something I pointed out last time she posted, but the poster brings up her position as if it means everyone before her on the list will be getting their work first.
No worries, I know. I saw you're comment about it, but I didn't mean because her position didn't change, I meant more since she made it sound like the list itself hasn't changed. Some people just aren't good at updating those things.
From what I can tell it at least doesn't have the info for the commissions she posted just over two weeks ago, then again that does really throw a wrench in the story of not doing any commission work at all.
I gathered by now that the list is alphabetically ordered. But considering I ordered this back in October 2010, still haven't heard any news, and everyone further up the list is getting stuff done, whereas I've been waiting for 8 months and still haven't been started. Kinda a crap list for the commissioner.
Well, you note in your post that you're on the bottom of it, it's clear she doesn't go in order of the list (the 'first' three aren't started and the second to last one is), and that the list is ordered by username, not the order of completion. To me that seems like you're intentionally misrepresenting the case.
So...I'm lying? Lol. All I want is my money back, I don't want the art, I don't even care about the art. So that's what I've asked for now, is my money back, and the note still hasn't been read. As far as "Misrepresenting" goes, it hardly matters, seeing as all I want is for her to give me my $15 back, that's it. She's not started on it, so I can hardly see how I'd cause any harm.
Let's just get one thing straight, I'm not lying just to be an immature little git making it personal and b-tchy. As you can probably tell it has been a while since I last looked at this issue and had forgotten how her list was arranged, and I come back here, and am reminded. So I haven't edited my main words to attune to that, but seriously, why would I need to dig at her? I just want my damn money back. v.v
I don't know how you paid, but maybe you could charge back on a credit card? That being said, Look at her account, when her activity is, etc. and if you're going to threaten anything, wait a bit for her to read the first note, then if she still doesn't, send her a note and email (if possible) with a subject referencing that this is time sensitive.
That being said, I don't have a problem with you complaining that her list is so long, but you again talk about how you're at the bottom of it, when that really has nothing to do with anything and is misrepresenting the situation.
If you're asking for a refund, do it a few times a week at the very least and state that you want nothing but that. I wouldn't try once a day, since that may become a 'harassment' issue. If anything else, try and get ahold of one of the FA mods and tell them about the lack of communication. Sometimes they seem to care about that, and prod artists into finishing their work! (sometimes)
I asked for a refund yesterday, note hasn't been read, she's been active today. I doubt it'll be read at all, ever. You think I should go to the mods? ;-;
give this final note a good solid week. If it's not read and she's been active, or it's been read and no reply, THEN talk to a mod. Or send a second note explaining that you will be contacting mods if she doesn't make any attempts to contact you.
This is a close friend of Electrocat. She's been suffering burnout which is why she has had to take more time off and as such is unable to issue refunds right now since she has no income coming in while she's recovering from her burnout. Badgering her about it is just going to make it worse, she'll take longer to recover and you'll have to wait that much longer for your refund. Your frustration is understandable but just try to be patient and there's no need to sic the staff on her. Her emotions and nerves are in a very frayed state right now due to the burnout and the smallest bit of this kind of stress can make her break completely. She wouldn't be taking this recovery time if it wasn't absolutely necessary.
Well I feel sorry for her and everything, but I refuse to sit here and do nothing. I've done it for nearly a year now and nothing has been done. I unfortunately now believe that if I let her off for this, that she'll constantly be needing time off. I don't know what else to say. I've been very patient. She was like this a few months ago too, and then came back for like 3 weeks and decided to take more time off. I may sound cruel and heartless but I really don't know what else I'm supposed to do. I know I can't get a refund right this second, but I will still continue with the Staff until it is possible. If I get contacted by staff, which I haven't yet, I will simply state that she cannot refund me right now because she's completely out of money, which I understand. I'm not going to sit here and do nothing for another year. - Sorry.
Yeah I can understand your situation and it does sound like you have been patient for a long time. I know she's not the type to just rip people off though even if things are taking awhile. Just wanted to explain her current situation. She's actually under doctor's orders not to work right now because of the burnout. Just try to keep being patient and I hope everything works out for the best.
