Avsun Update-- Internal Conflict

 While I personally have not commissioned Avsun, I know that there are a lot of people who have and who have had issues with missed deadlines, lack of communication, etc.

I found this Facebook Update, posted yesterday, which might explain some of the issues that have been going on:

"Hey Everyone! Esh is here, alive and no worse for wear. I've been trying to hold Avsun Mascots together through a very messy internal conflict in the company to no avail. Avsun Enterprises, inc dba Avsun Mascots dissolved May 1st, 2011. I want to continue building the remaining accounts as freelance, since I am no longer employed by Avsun Enterprises. I know this is disheartening on many levels but not all is lost, I have already spoken to a few people who would still like me to make their suits. I am currently still in transition but will return to production once I make a place to do so. Please message me here for the time being, Thanks."

Yeah this, I thought it was a couple (I dunno about married) working on this. So my guess is they broke up, or at the very least one decided they didn't want to do it anymore.

Really, really weird way to word it though. As if they were ever a big, professional business. *snrk*

Older communications from other AB posts implied there were others involved besides just the main couple. But like all their communication, it was quite vague, and I suspected was intended to make them seem larger and more professional than they ever were.

The company dissolved May 1, and they are only just giving any hint of that a month later??

This happened a month ago? I cannot even begin to imagine the dishonesty and complete lack of tact that must go into keeping customers completely blinded for a month, and probably they hoped they could do it indefinitely.

Turns out that behind all those words of 'Oh everything's great, we're moving into a new place! :)))' and smilies, it was all just to keep customers who have payed HUNDREDS of dollars in the dark about very deep and significant changes.

I hope dearly that nobody else commissions either of these people until they prove they can even make premade costumes to sell. 'Professional company'/'not newbie makers', eh?

This is definitely something that should be on their WEBSITE or FA, where people are looking for answers. Not everyone keeps track of furry companies/artists on facebook.

It looks like Saluna (the wife?) left and he announced that on the fb on May 9th and that's why Prefur is helping out.

This new update sounds like he's distancing himself from the "company" and is trying to make it seem like he isn't responsible for refunds/customers not getting their products. :\ this really is a mess.

I agree with mekania, he really sounds like he's trying to distance himself and pull the "oh, that's Avsun's issue, not mine."

I am so frustrated. I don't know whats going on. I've been trying to contact them everywhere. Esh facebook, Avsuns facebook, Esh email, Avsuns email - hell even Prefur on FA and her e-mail.

I am the customer of the half finished head linked in this post. As you can see its half finished but this news about they don't know when they will be working on the commissions again is making me want to pull out hair on my head!

I honestly don't know what to do. I already paid for the head and the shipping. Should I just wait and *hope* for them to finish it anytime soon or should I ask for it now and finish it myself?

I wrote the following on their wall:

"I am the customer of the Flicker head. You recently posted pictures of the head on Facebook. All this drama has ofc made me worried when I will get my head. Seeing as its close to finish I was wondering if I could get a completion date. I have already paid in full also for shipping.

I really want my head with me to EF and if its not possible to have it complete before that I am willing to finish the head myself. I just need some answers and I really just want my commission.

Thanks."

It's too late to ask for my money back. Especially when they don't have any. Really I just want my head...

Same here. My head is pretty much completed. The only thing they were lacking is a wig that I asked to go on it. They showed me a pic of the finished head and I DID ask them to change the eyes, but haven't heard back at ALL from them. So the next email I sent was asking them to just send the head as-is. Cause at least I'd get something for my money. At this point, I'm terrified to come up empty handed. Tho I know a whole lot of people will be that way at this point. Hopefully most aren't past the 45 day mark with paypal to get their money back.

I actually tried to contact her a month or two back when I hadn't heard anything from Avsun - but I got no response at all. So I just figured it was a dead end. It MAY be different since she's now working with them again BUT I think someone said in a above post that they had tried to get in touch with Prefur also and no response.

I've just heard from Prefur. Apparently they are in the middle of a divorce:

"[...]The one reason Esh is behind currently is because of the divorce (nothing to do with suits, more to do with something his wife did sadly) and that Esh is looking for a new place to work on suits. If things keep going the way they are, things might be back on track late June/ early July."

That explains a lot and I understand a divorce is hard to go through, but why didn't they just tell us sooner? I'm pretty sure most people would be understanding.

Thanks so much for the update! Man, that sucks. I do agree, tho! I wish they'd have said something - tho I do realize it's a personal issue. But I'm sure his customers would understand to give some time.

I also have sent an e-mail with no responce.... I wonder who would we have to go to , to get our stuff or a refund now? If the company is disolved dose that mean there leagal obligation to give us a product or a refund is also disolved? I feel bad for this couple who is going through a divorce, but even if they did not want to tell us about their marital problems they could have at least sent out a e-mail to their customers saying that there is a delay instead of ignoreing e-mails and giving silence...I do not follow them on facebook and had no idea they had one untill I saw this post and they currently owe me either my 135$ back or a foam goat head.

I talked to Prefur about that. She said that they had gotten a divorce and that was why it was dissolved. She said it was because of a "non-suit" related issue. I have respect for her not going into the details of it though. but I dunno :/
