Heya my name is Aaron8181. I'm a blue and white little dragon. I was trying to get a fursuit from noblewolf / kevin stapleton and started paying noble in September of last year, by November i paid him off of a total of $1500. I asked him over 2 months ago i wanted a refund because various reasons.. slow responses time price etc... but i haven't gotten any response scene then. I also tryed calling and texting him but nothing. i was able to talk to his mate who nicely responds to me who gave me his number.

I did ask noble if he could refund $1000 and send me the minerals and i didn't get a response to that ether. this was over FA and text.

I'm not getting any reply at all on texts or so.

I talked to paypal for about a month about stuff and they cant do anything cus its all gifted.

i dont think he wants to refund cus hes hurting because he spent alot on his mates car

Right now im kinda just sitting for a refund cus i really doubt hes even going to do my suit.

For future reference, if you commission someone else, never ever send payment for an item as a gift. If you do, you have no rights to dispute the transaction. If you send it marked properly then you have up to 45 days to contact paypal and file a dispute.

Have you considered legal action?

Ps it's "materials" not "minerals" :)

ok wow re-reading my comment it sounds really condescending for some reason, that's not my intention at all. I really do think you should look into your legal options, though since the payment was gifted I'm not sure how much of a case you have.

Just to be sure I've gotten the timeline straight, you finished paying in November, then requested a refund in April, 5 months later?
Was there any deadline given when you initially agreed on the deal?
You said you have his phone number, what happens when you try to call him?

Like Shuki has said, for future reference never gift anything to an artist when you commission them. It takes away all of protection you have of disputing it just in case things like this happen.

What was the deadline for the commission? Noble should have given you a timeline and deadline since some people can take a month or more to make a suit.

I've noticed a lot of other comments on his page about his lack of response and tardiness with commissions. I had the same problem with him almost 2 years ago. I put down a deposit on a suit and got no response for a long time so I ended up just getting hands, feet and tail for my deposit because I didn't want to risk the whole lack of communication thing turning really bad. I'd say keep bugging him. I eventually got my problem settled trough his mate Proxy. I'd say do a lot of talk with him instead of Noble.

Am I the only one who feels like theres info missing or something?

No, this post is sparse on the details, and a little hard to understand.
Especially the notes suggest we're missing a huge chunk of the correspondence, so we don't really get the fursuit maker's side of the story, but the OP does seem a little overly familiar; business transaction =/= friendship, unless they were friends beforehand. Though the lack of correspondence suggests otherwise.
Fursuit maker also specifically states that he cannot receive calls due to the high cost, so calling him seems pointless. Not sure where the BF comes in or why he gave his number, unless he also helps make the suits.

I feel that way as well, this just doesn't add up? OP claims to want a refund because he thinks the artist is not making his suit. But in his note he says he wants a refund because he is moving...

Date: 2011-06-21 07:56 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ariakitty.livejournal.com
How do you know he wasn't working on your suit? Did he tell you he wasn't? Or did you just assume this since the artist is hard to get in touch with?

Also, you claim to want a refund because you feel he is not making your suit, but in your notes you asked him for a refund because you said you were moving. You didn't say "I want a refund because you're slow!" you want the money back because you NEED it.

The artist is not a bank to hold your money until you need it again, you entered a business transaction with him.

I don't think you have given us the whole story. The information we get from the notes is sparse at best.

Also, I did not intend for this comment to come off as crabby as it seems. @_@ I am just trying to understand the situation. XD;

Not justifying Noble's actions in any way, but it's worth noting that Noble's other journals show he has not been in the best of health as of late, closed down his business and moved recently and it looks like he's only just got his internet back, so this might shed a bit more light on things.

You should probably edit the address out of the first note. I think it's just your info, but at the same time, it's better to be safe than sorry.

People asking you for information isn't grounds for removing a post, and deleting posts is against the rules, here.

If things get worked out, let us know and we can mark the post as resolved, however.

Noble always seemed on top of things...I'm sure it's all just a misunderstanding

I'm having a similar issue with noblewolf. My husband and I paid him a $150 deposit for two sets of paws almost a year ago. Since then, we've sent him a number of emails and PMs on FA, and have received exactly one sentence in return. He hasn't responded to anything in six months. I know he's receiving emails and he's posting journals on FA almost every day, yet he ignores anything from us completely.
