MetroCon 2011 Lost Commission

 I am an artist who attended MetroCon 2011 under the studio name GenkiGoth Studios and was commissioned by an attendee on that saturday (june 18th) to complete an inked image of 2 original characters that go by the name Chi and Val at the tune of $18. I was booked with commissions for the weekend and told the guest that it would most likely be done after the convention, at which I would mail it to her before her proposed deadline. It wasn't until after the convention that I realized neither of us thought to ask for the guests' mailing address. I had waited the week out, to see if she would email me at any point in time but nothing has come about. As of recently I posted about this situation on Facebook, Deviantart and Twitter hoping for some kind of a response soon. This is more of a pre emptive move on my part, seeing as how the deadline to get this to her is the 29 of this month, but I am not local to Tampa and I am prepared to overnight this to her (I had every intention to actually) but I do not have any way to contact her and the only thing I have is just the names of the characters she'd asked me to draw and one reference of the characters that was drawn from another artist at the convention. Above is the requested piece. It is of Chi (front) and Val (back) It is done and ready to be sent out. If you are the owner of this piece, or if anyone out here knows the guest who commissioned this, please tell her to contact us. UPDATE: the owner has been found and the commission has been sent. She was very happy with it and I'm glad it finally made its way home. And a big thank you to everyone for your suggestions and ideas; I have put them to good use so this does not happen again.

I'm not the commissioner you're looking for, but I did have a recommendation for future cons you sell commissions at: Make sure to get each of your commissioners to fill out a contact form. Have a line for their address, and online contact info, and then when they fill it out, you give them the means you are comfortable contacting you at. Hindsight 20/20 and all that but just thought I'd recommend that so this doesn't happen next time.

Any chance you could figure out who drew the other artist was? If you could get in contact with them they may have taken down a phone number/name or something that could help you!

I tried doing a deviantart search for commissions with those character names but I don't see any that match what you've drawn.

Thank you for this idea! I still have the MetroCon program; I'm going to check it out. Hopefully I can send it out if not today, than tomorrow. It may be late, but at least it will still get to her. Thank you again...I really hope this works!! *crosses fingers*

I have now made it a personal policy to have each commissioner at conventions write down their cell number. Not only do I use it to let them know via text when their commission is ready to be picked up, but it also lets me contact them in the event that they forget to pick up their piece.

That's another good idea; it falls in line with what anjel_kitty said about a form of sorts they should fill out. It certainly makes contacting them alot easier, lol! *sigh* It's a lesson learned I guess. I just didn't want to have to inconvenience the commissioner because of it. Thanks for the tip; I'm definitely trying this out for the next convention.

Ha! I knew I recognized this the moment I saw it. Yes, most definitely what everyone else says here. A really awesome way to keep info is to have your commissioners fill out a form that tells you their contact info. If you'd like, I can repost this for you on FA and see if I get any results! Just so you know, we made ourselves a commission book so that this mistake doesn't happen again. And it's working wonders, LOL! Now the only issue I have is when people don't fill everything out completely, to which we contact them to get things sorted out. But other than that, commissioning now is going peachy.

Oh! And I forgot to mention this earlier; but the girl did in fact get back in touch with me and I did get to send it out! So crisis solved, lol! I'm just glad that she got it and liked it and I can close this chapter...now if only there was a way to advertise this on the post, lol! I'm not sure if I can edit it like any regular lj page or not but, at least it's in a post that the problem is indeed solved!!
