Follow-up on Pricing Advice Post

I am working on compiling the advice given in our General Advice post on Pricing.

In the meantime, here is a list of the artists who requested pricing advice. If any of you have a free moment or two, I'm sure they'd love to hear opinions from more people (or anyone at all, since some haven't gotten replies yet).

I will try to do the asterisk thing in a bit (tied up with other things at the moment), but in the meantime, each link will take you directly to their thread and any replies they've had are there, too.

Oh, most certainly using hers. I am going to use pretty much everyone's (group the similar ones, etc.), with links to the original comments so folks' get credit. ^_^

I actually am considering upping everything by about $10 - $15. Now my full bodies are going to be $45 and extra characters are $20. The smaller stuff I haven't figured out yet, but I know for sure sketches are going to be base $10 uncolored and $15 colored.

I know my work is not easy to price so I don't expect much in way of advice. There are a few others who do similar work to mine but they are the sort who keep their prices pretty private for a reason I guess (I've asked, and always had my jaw drop at the triple, sometimes quadruple digits).

I see your work pop up on the geekcrafts community every so often, and since crafts are my area too, I didn't really have much advice to give you. ^^; But I wanted to say I was a fan.

But since you know crafts you should have something to say, since you know about the process more than 2D artists... which I think are the majority here. At least that is my reasoning. lol

Ha ha, that's true. And I see that I worded my first comment all weird. I'm awful at pricing, but I'll go back and take a look and try to give you some advice this time. :)

I know there are suitmakers hanging around in the shadows of this community. I wish they'd weigh in since I think we're the only two 3D artists who posted...

Yeah, it's fairly easy to price 2D stuff and even suits, but the fur and fandom related communities don't seem to have too many of us who do 3D stuff (and shrinky dink crafts don't count since they're just an extension of the 2D world lol).

I really want to say thanks for the advice I got on that post. I've streamlined my commissions list and reworked my pricing. Now I just need clients. :P
