[identity profile] dracoleerose.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] artists_beware
I have been nice, patience, and willing to give chances but not any more. I am here today to warn all of the two artists that have more then ran away with, between the two, over $1,000.00 USD of my hard earned money. The two I am referring to is a artist named Synxirazu-niam and another by7 the name of Jace. Both of which can be found on FA. Synxirazu-niam was commissioned as of now nearly two years ago for a amount of over $500.00 USD for two comic commissions and have yet to give a single sketch of any progress of working on it. However during our transaction together he did make a small change it the format of the commission and turned it into a flash animation project, with my agreement of course. He did so and so far the only thing I have seen out of it was this http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2876847/
. Notice the date of it being posted, it was posted after about two to three months after I had commissioned him. Since then nothing has shown up of any progress towards my commissions. I have countless times IMed him on his YIM account, gotten hold of him during his livestreams, and noted him through FA about it and I get the same ol sad story that he will start it, he will do it soon...ish, or that he will get with me on such and such time and date to have him not come online. SO if you commission him BEWARE BEEEEEWAAAAARRE!

Now then, Jace on the other hand has done the EXACT thing to me without so much as a single note, sketch, or anything about my art. He has since posted many new artworks, sketches and gift pics he has gotten or done on his FA account LOOOOONG after I have commissioned him. He was commissioned roughly around the same time I commissioned Synx, so you can agree with me that I am more then ready to give a rant about him and Synx. Jace has a bad habit of changing the subject as well when I ask him about my commissions to how he is depressed or heartbroken,. Sad to say I have even told him in these words before  "I dont care about your RL drama love life, you did a business transaction with me and so I expect payment for what I have bought in terms of art. That is my thought to it, put your RL drama aside and give me what I paid for or refund me the $500.00 USD." The quote may be abit of my thought during what I really wanted to say to him, but yea, it was close to that. either way BEWARE BEEEEWARRRRE!

Ok now that LJ allowed me to post the image I have of my paypal transactions you can clearly see the amount of money I gave him back in 2009, a wowing $530.00 USD.

My paypal transactions with Synx

And heres the Jace proof of how much I paid. And as you can see I have been a very nice dragon to wait this long from Jace to not have a single sketch flipped my way. Also note the black smuged spot near his name, that is there to protect his email accounts handler so trolls wont try to go and bomb him, but that is indeed Jace.

Do you have any proof of any of this?

Also your whole little "BEWARE BEWARE" at the end seems really really childish.

I upload pics to photobucket and then use the HTML line to post things here. You just have to be careful with small text because it will try to resize them. There's other services that do this too like tinypic url.

Please leave the warnings up to the moderators. Saying a title is childish is not the same as calling someone a child.

For someone who does not want to be involved in our community, you have suddenly decided to become quite active and comment all over the place. You have broken several of our rules in the process. (Saying the cost of a commission isn't worth a beware, insulting people, toeing the line of being a troll.)

You have been warned multiple times to read and follow our rules (http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/profile). I see further down that you have apologized for your behavior. I appreciate that, and I hope you will follow through on that. However, I want to officially let you know that if you continue to break our rules, you will receive a two-week ban. Being upset about being posted on here is one thing, but going around to multiple posts and breaking the rules there is unacceptable.

It was actually making me laugh. I can totally hear 'BEWARE BEEEEEWAAAAARRE!!' said in like, a ghostly tone.

Did you buy the gift card at Amazon's website?

If so, there should be some sort of email receipt for it in your inbox. Check there. :)

Jace owes me an art trade from at LEAST 6 years back. Last time I asked him about it (a couple years ago, I think) he said someone had stolen the sketches he'd done for it.

So, yeah, Jace is a super-nice guy in RL, but it's not a good idea to do business with him. I think he's second only to Starfinder for complaints on this group.

Yeah, he owes me stuff from 2002 still. =P He keeps saying he'll get it done, but I've seen no evidence that it will ever come about. Basically his color printer died in 2002 and he needed a new one to make prints for the upcoming FC, so I spotted him $350 in return for 4 full-color commission pieces. I've not even seen a single sketch still in these 8+ years now. =/

I've heard a -lot- of not-good-things about Jace and his business practices from this group and outside of it... But some proof would be nice for this post.

That is a LOT of money to just...take and not produce even a single sketch with.

Perhaps it's time to take action with a small claims case?

boy I'm glad I never pressed to commission Jace. the way he kind of pushed me aside the first time was enough to put me off (I had spoken to him before and messed with him using a name from a character of his, but he only got annoyed when I suggested that I was holding it 'hostage')

He just broke up with his partner, too. Also I thought he was sick? At the least the sick thing is a reasonable excuse, but he should be finishing things...

Though I understand depression making you not draw, I've had this problem for months now. x.x (Still not an excuse for not refunding.)

From: [identity profile] wolf-goat.livejournal.com
He has fibro, and while that is a really unpleasant condition, it's not "sick" as in the traditional sense. You would have bad days but you'd still be able to work on art on the whole. There's plenty of productive artists out there with fibro, but Jace seems to use it as a Get Out Of Jail Free card.

It doesn't tally with the fact he does apparently seem to work on art regularly anyway - he has plenty of uploads, does con work, makes gifts etc.

I thought he went to the hospital for like a liver problem or something a while back?

Don't know much about the guy and he's a bloody local fur...

Fibro is his excuse to not draw? This is one sad excuse for an individual and for someone to say but "he's a nice guy in real life" Sorry but I hope you run into him at a con and don't be a pushover about it. Otherwise I suggest you take both of these two idiot artists to small claims court. Also, Jace if you read this I have Quadriplegic friends who draw you have no idea what depression really is. Get a life you loser and stop trying to make excuses for being a pussy...

As an Artist with Fibro, I can't second enough that it doesn't mean you can NEVER WORK. Yeah, there are days I can't function, but it's not 7 days a week. I've never had a problem completing the work I owe people due to my chronic pain issues to put it simply.

Yes, it's different for everyone, but if his/her fibro is bad to the point of not even being able to draw and the like, they shouldn't be taking commissions in the first place.

I would also like to see some proof. There may be a tutorial on adding pictures to posts on the front page of this group (though you may have trouble doing that with how LJ is right now.)

I'm a little confused as to why THAT journal has proof and not the one here? You either need to add it in here or directly link it in the post, rather then telling us to find it on your profile.

I'm not yelling, I was just confused why one had less info then the other, it's like not telling us the full story.

Yup, it worked!

Hrm. Did you buy him a gift card instead of paying him directly? Because if you did, you can go onto your Amazon.com account, to the yellow "your orders" button, and they have a drop-down menu that has last 30 days, 6 months, and then by year back to at least 2008 on my account. Maybe it goes back farther if you've had an account longer?

Wow, I don't know how someone can stand the guilt of taking $600 for Christmas gifts and then just completely ignoring the person who gave them that money. It speaks of a truly horrific attitude and entitlement complex. :(

Tada! :D

And holy crap. I agree with yoka_neko below; because of the sheer amount of money spent, you should probably take it to small claims or at least threaten legal action.

From: [identity profile] yoka-neko.livejournal.com
If this is true what you say, i think something this big will need to be taken to court - along with as much evidence you can provide (including notes and email screencaps). Though I would contact the artist first as the court notice might just be enough to resolve things by itself.
Good luck with everything.

I think this is why you don't drop that much money on art commissions unless that artist has STELLAR feedback and an excellent track record for completing them in a timely fashion.
500 dollars is a lot of money, probably worth a lot of beware posts and a bad internet reputation to these artists. I'm sorry for your loss but at least you can take away a learning experience from this, no? From now on I'd not only research more into the artists you commission, but when dealing with such a large amount of money I'd only pay in installments. Negotiate a fair payment plan with the artist in question, and if they insist on everything up front, don't go forward with the transaction. Say, pay a fraction of the total cost as down-payment first, to cover materials and time for preliminary sketches, and as the project progresses, you pay further.

About Synx.

I'll keep it blunt to add to this.

He'll do you scraps if your 'family' but before he had a job [Now he has one since Ive posted this.] he basically milked people like me, his 'Brother' for constant food and supply stuffs through paypal, started off as a few bucks, then it got upto about $180.

Note - Still bought himself games like Skyrim and such, funny how thats a needed supply?

Now he agreed do me and my girlfriends ref sheets for it, so I thought ok.

Now Im still waiting for the actual finished ref sheets since his colouring was sloppy, not even FINISHED the adult sheet and now I am reliant on a close friend fix up the sloppy job he's done.

And he lies consistantly, told me done all the linework after 2 weeks away at work, come home, he's done one body pose and thats it, I work 2 weeks away at my job at a time and he just doesnt bother with you unless you either had more tips on standby [10-20 bucks again] to get him actually working.

Also recently had a kid, so he can get state benefits added onto his lifestyle.

Still owes me at least $60-$80 in refund and an apologie to my girlfriend for lieing about doing her sheet, I have the works as he's done on my HD if proof is needed, getting the rundown charges of my paypal, now that be a pain but grabable from archives.

Also he is trying run his sales through his 'Sister' Folsehs now on another account - dont give up your money, the deal seems too good be true and it really, REALLY is.

FA should simply flatout ban his type as a debt mongerer.
