WHAT: A very small points commission for a Pokemon walky icon, 15 deviantart points (not sure what that translates to in USD)

WHEN: Offer was made August 1,2011. The commission was fully paid August 28, 2011.

EXPLAIN: Well, basically, in March of 2011 I commissioned Narutofan098 for a 100x100 icon with an Oshawott and an Emolga on it. It seemed fine and dandy, her waiting list was relatively small, and I liked her art style.

This has been resolved, thank you for your help!




Anyways, I waited for quite some time, and it became August. I assumed she hadn't started yet, so I sent her this message, as I had a different idea by then of what I wanted.



No responses after that, still waiting for my icon.

Granted, I barely paid anything for it, but I'm one of those people who needs to have an issue resolved with either a concrete "I do not want to work on this anymore," a refund, or a result. So far I've had none of those.

I hate hate hate posting A_B posts because I always feel so terrible for it ;____;

Your text says 2010, but your screen caps say 2011. Either way, it's a long time to wait for an icon, but please fix your post to match your 'caps, thanks!

FWIW, 15 deviantART points is equivalent to a little less than $0.20.

I know the point of artists-beware isn't how much the person paid for the commission, but seeing an artist sell themselves for so low makes me very, very sad. :/

Yeaaahh the DA point system is kinda derpy. Guess it makes people feel better to see "15" or "500" as opposed to 0.20 or 5.00

I noticed this too. It just seems silly to use points but then if you don't have a credit or debit card I suppose it's the only way to get 'money' on Deviantart to buy things...from Deviantart.

Arghhhhh this this this! I can't stand this! There is no artist in the world no matter their skill level that should be selling themselves so short. I hate dA points. HATE THEM.

Alright, I wasn't really sure how that worked. All I know is that I spent $10 on these said points for the commission, and I've had no use for them since.
I guess for that price it really isn't worth continuing this "struggle."

No, it doesn't matter how much you paid for artwork, even if it was 0.20. You're owed something and should definitely continue this.
