Artist: YuUrI : Waited About 27 Months, Requested Refund, Lies & Libel

Hey everyone, I’m new to this little knick of the woods on LJ but after being referenced by some friends I figured I should give this a shot.

PROOF:
It is very hard to keep track of things with Yuuri. She periodically tears down her gallery/scraps each year. Up until this summer I watched her on FA to keep an eye out for my commission.
From when she was paid, until I asked for my refund, the only artwork she uploaded were various other “inky” commissions, adoptables, and some full colors in between.

She never finished my commission so on June 26th, 2011 I requested a refund:

EXPLAIN:
This is where it gets a little complicated. Today (Nov 21, 2011) I was going to attempt to contact her again but discovered she had blocked me from sending her notes.
To me, this looked like she was trying to get rid of a ‘problem’ without resolving it. However I wanted to still see if she had some reasoning behind this. So asked for some assistance from a friend to message her on my behalf.
I have blotched out her name because she wants to remain anonymous for the time being. If she needs to reveal her name, then she is ok with that.

This is where her lies start coming in. She claims that I attacked her in my note asking for a refund. I admit that my note was quite snippy though.

This is where she is really starting to lie. I never swore at her, and in my opinion I don’t think I was that aggressive. I was unhappy, and I believe I was being quite polite. Apparently she disagrees.

Two new notes have been added. At the first reply wasn't very relevant up until Yuuri responded to my friend in an additional note.

I don't see how my friend was being rude to Yuuri honestly, she was just acting as a liaison for me. However, Yuuri has gone from saying that I swore at her in my note to her to 'that's just how I took it and how I felt'.
This is very different from what she initially was saying.

Update: Yuuri has unblocked me and requested my paypal information. Hopefully we can get this resolved soon.

Before someone inevitably brings it up -- 'Slander' is spoken word. 'Libel' is written word, and what you're looking for.

Otherwise, did she ever respond to your original request for a refund in June? Because there is no excuse to not give you any sort of response for four months after you'd been waiting nearly two years.

I would say that this is a well deserved beware. If Yuuri is claiming you sent abusive notes, I'm sure they'd be more than eager to share proof of that with your friend. If they say something along the lines of "It was so stressful I deleted it immediately" then it all but proves that they are lying.

It seems like they are just trying to get pity and seem like the right person in the situation. Honestly, after 27 months, I /would/ be cussing and pissed off if I had nothing to show for it... not that it'd make it right, but I'm just saying even if you had I wouldn't blame you. She's basically had an interest free loan from you for 27 months, and has gotten away with it for a long time. To act like the victim in this, even if you HAD cussed... it's a little misguided.

This. Don't spend money from art that isn't finished. If they're in a pinch, they should do sketches with a fast turn-around, not full colored digitals that take several weeks to finish! :|

I don't even think you were being "SNIPPY" in your refund request note. I see no attacks. I see nothing making you deserving of a block.

I was a repeat customer to her since '09 and I honestly had no issue with her (aside from an overdue chibi icon), but seeing that she has this unprofessional attitude and lies she makes up, I'm doing business with her anymore. Beware truly deserved

Well, I had been thinking about commissioning her from time-to-time when I would see her open since I've always thought she does really cute work, but I always wondered what became of the commissions she had taken on previously as people always seemed to jump at the chance to get something from her.

Thank you very much for the head's-up. She has some really nice art, but I don't think I'll be tossing any money her way until she shows that she can complete her half of business transactions in a timely manner. The whole lying to your friend thing also leaves a bad taste in my mouth, it really seems like as astraldescent said, she blocked you in an attempt to make everything go away without putting any effort into resolving the situation.

It's strange when people will lie to a person's FRIEND and assume that the friend will believe THEM over what their good friend is saying? Sense. It makes none of it.

The artist had cute work, but I had given up on watching them due to the multiple tearing down of their gallery and 'coming back' phases. I've nothing against people pruning their galleries, but this sort of behavior shows flightiness and makes me wary.

Seems like two people to me bullying a commissioner.

Me and my friends and many other commission Yuuri all the time. I ALWAYS GET MY COMMISSIONS. And I think the same can be said for a few others I know. I won't mention there names but if they allow me I will.

Things I dislike as an artist when someone gets a "friend" involved. It is you're resposibility to contact her with a dummy account not getting a third person involved when they only know you're side of the story. So if you're going to deal with something like this deal with it yourself.

After reading her notes it seems like she gave you an explanation i.e she didn't have the money to give you back and wanted to wait till she did... to me this seems FAIR. If you didn't like this answer you know you could of got off your butt gone down to the bank and do a cash back like I did. And the bank would sort it for you. Posting this is just unreasonable when you could have gone through your bank to claim the money back if you simply couldn't wait. But I guess if you contacted paypal about this instead of running on here you'd know that.

To be honest you can call Yuuri a liar but you don't really know her and no one knows really what happened the only people who do are the commissioner and Yuuri. Not anyone else :/ it's not hard to pull up you're big girl panties and sort things out yourself through your bank.

I've never heard of Yuuri not delivering commissions late yes but never not at all. I KNOW FOR A FACT she did lose access to two accounts and she is not lied about anything in the notes so :/ even if Yuuri is a bit late... compared to other like Spazzy Koneko or Chevi it is nothing. And she delivers art on a much more professional level I say this as a commissioner and not her friend.

Just because you and your friends always got what they paid for does not instantly mean it's impossible someone else did not.

He was unable to handle it himself because the artist blocked him. This is why he got a friend involved.

I will agree that the OP is NOT the type to swear carelessly. (Known him since we were in high school... so like... 8 years? perhaps more.) We don't talk as much as we used to but we do keep in touch and he's the same as ever, in my opinion.

I will also say that I have been friends with a friend of hers and have experienced a little bit of tension with her in her words. (And there have been some cases of lies but I don't have any proof of that as I've long deleted that 2-3 years ago and didn't even think to screenshot it) I made our friend upset and I have felt a bit of a verbal whipping from her. Since then, I've made the choice to talk to her as little as necessary but still remain civil in case she or myself decides to pop into the same livestream or something of the sort.

Until Yuuri provides proof that she was harassed, it seems to me like another instance of an artist completely failing to understand that the exchange of money enters them into a business relationship. Her failing to either do the art or refund is extremely unprofessional, and even in the (highly unlikely, IMO) event that the commissioner swore at her, it is STILL THEFT to take the commissioner's money without compensation.

Until I see proof otherwise, either of a refund or the art, Yuuri has in my mind stolen this money, and insulting behavior either way will not change this fact.

I don't see how you can judge this situation strickly from here say... I think the person should show ALL the notes that THEY sent and they know what I am talking about :3
