Due to issues on some computers with displaying the new S1 comment layout, as well as eyestrain and visibility issues, we have had to switch the community to the S2 style for the comments. This means that the comments page will now look very similar to the community page.
We are in the process of finding a layout that both works with our setup and is easier on the eyes. You may notice A_B changing appearance as we adjust things, so please bear with us.
Feel free to give us feedback on the changes (please keep it to this post or to PMs and email). We will try to take suggestions into consideration, but we are somewhat limited by the layout options we need for the community.
Thank you all for your patience!

Date: 2012-01-06 07:10 am (UTC)Yeah, that's my complaint exactly! It's 20freaking12--hasn't ANYONE come up with a way to format pages so they look good at different resolutions without just resorting to barebones HTML**? At least back in the Geocities heyday of the 90s, you could look at webpages without having to hit page down twenty times due to central crowding. /end *Get off my lawn rant*
**I love me some barebones HTML. But I reluctantly admit that it has gone from being the popular kid of yesterdecade to being the wallflower nerd at the high school dance.

I think this entry is the first time I've complained about the wasted-space epidemic, but it won't be the last time I'll be annoyed by having entire webpages crowded into the center of my screen!
Pardon the off=topic: funny you should mention WordPress! A couple years back I dubbed this mess the "WordPress Dilemma". Not because I blame WordPress for "ruining the Internet" or anything, but because it was pages using WordPress/ComicPress that I first noticed the crowding issue on. Now it seems to have spread to sites trying to imitate WP/CP's visual format, and, well, many pages in general from there. I don't really know who started the trend, but I'd like to stare at them with judging eyes.
(Also OMG YOUR ICON ♥ )
