Contacting Cateagle UPDATE

Hello all!

This is actually just a help post. I'm trying to get a hold of Cateagle (FA)

It looks as if their account was wiped, they've left, or some such thing.
They have had a pending commission waiting with me  (To modify an original sketch i had to look like their character, and to colour/finish the image as well.) After the 2 moves in the past 8-ish months, I cannot locate the original sketch and have been trying to get a hold of this person about this issue and am very willing to give a refund or to create something else for them if they wish. (I can also easily digitally edit the scan i've had of it but since i'd not have the original to send them anymore i wanted their approval of any action to be taken before proceeding... But again none of the notes i've sent them have been read since early July :/) I've even sent them an email to the paypal address they sent the payment with, no answer either.

Does anyone know how to get a hold of this person? Do they have another account? Another email? Has something happened to them?

On that note. What should i do? They paid me $40 for this but with their account down and no answers to the email on their paypal, what should i do? Should i just refund the money to the address that was attached to their paypal account and call it even?

(I can screenshot the email, the unread notes, etc. if people want. I just don't think its entirely necessary at this point. I just hope this person is okay :/ )

EDIT: I took the advice of a few, to paypal him a small sum, asking for him to contact me, the reason why, etc. I sent the payment Oct 3rd, He accepted the payment on Oct 10th. But still no contact.
I also took the advice of another, to see if i could contact him through a friend of his. I found a friend of his from his FA (Thank you to a commenter for the help!) and i was responded with a warning that he does disappear every now and again but that the friend would contact me if they were able to contact cateagle.
I have not received contact back from either of those sources. I'm a bit miffed, and i honestly don't know what to do. I had no contact from him after the paypal and i'm not sure if its even him on the other end of that paypal. I'd be afraid to return the money to the account without confirmation from him.

EDIT2: Was able to get a hold of Cateagle as of 1/3/2012. though nothing has gotten confirmed yet. The last i heard of him was 1/8/2012. I've sent an email every week or so, trying to get something figured out. (so 3. One in responce to his last, one last week and one today.) I sent him one today, explaining that he is taking up a slot on my list, i have reduced commissions for the next three months and i need to pay my bills. I cannot wait for a long long time like before, to get something worked out. I've said that i will give him yet, two more weeks to come up with something, else i will simply refund his $40 from way back when, and it will be left at that. I really hate having to do this, but i really need to pay my bills... I cannot wait for 3+ weeks to get info. He says he knows what he wants, just needs to write it up and tell me. Hopefully, it will be worked out so i can get it done. Just figured i should give an update.

I would just refund it, not worth the hassle, and you lost the original anyway. Hope they are okay!

With the scan still available, i can finish the image as they paid for, just no original will be sent unless i do it traditionally and -redo- the image. (which i'm cool with.)

But yeah, understood. No contact for months, no visible activity from them, there not really much i can do but just refund it eh?

Fandom is a funny thing. If they've GAFIAted (Gotten Away From It All), they may not want either the commission OR the money returned. You've already tried to contact them through the regular methods, if you want to try one last way, I'd send them a penny ($.01) via Paypal, along with a note that you want to contact them. They may not ever check their Paypal e-mail, but if they continue to do online business, they'll eventually look at their Paypal account, and see your payment. Looking again at their FA account, Tony_The_Tiger gave him a shout a month ago, and it sounds like they know him personally, you could try sending Tony a note as well to see if they know how to contact him. You've done your due duty, now just wait and see if you ever hear from them again.

I'm pretty sure cateagle on LJ is the same person. He's still around but his activity on the places he was once active is now pretty sporadic. He's had a couple of job-related moves including one just a couple of months ago. I've sent him a couple of notes lately about an unrelated matter; if he replies to them I'll be sure and mention that you've been trying to contact him.
