EXPLAIN: KirinRuna accepted payment for the commission, sent a roughdraft, I suggested I can do a rough draft of what I would like, she accepted and said she can work with that. Since of Thursday night from Skype and SecondLife She has removed, blocked, and muted me, and no update. She muted me before asking for a update.

</lj-cut {I know it only been within the week, but sign of the removing from skype and muting on SL are showing me no intention of doing the commission. I’ll post updates to this journal any changes, updates, etc. - posted the first attempt} Update as of March 3, 2012. She still has not read my notes, she has unwatched me but watching more people after unwatched me. She remains active in SecondLife as her name changes periodically. I know she has me blocked and mute, I am in a few same groups she's in. Her name appears in the chatbox listing, but shows offline status to me. I'm claiming this as art theft. I uploaded lindens because she wanted money in SL because she spent hers. I made a payment using L$ because thats the money I had on hand at the time. I have documented/screen capped the payment amount amount discuss via Skype as well in SL where she provided me her Skype name. Been well over a month with absolutely no attempt to reach me back, yet she remains active in SL and in groups. What can i do about this?

Where's the art theft? As far as I can see, there's no proof of that here.

What art theft means is that she's stealing other people's art and claiming it as her own.

What I think you're thinking is she is a thief, of money, not art. :P

I saw that she blocked you, but "art theft" is a WHOOOOOOLE other bag.

It's possible that she blocked you because she's feeling stressed out and doesn't want to deal with talking with you, or feels like you're being too needy.

Sometimes that's just what people need to do, it doesn't *necessarily* mean that they're trying to rip you off. Though I can definitely see how you would feel that way.

You know, you could just make a new SL handle and message her. :P She'll probably insta-block you, but if you start out nicely, you might get somewhere.

Well being blocked is essentially a loss of contact, initiated by her. Its fine if its labeled this way, that way people who browse the tags will see it all the more and be more likely to avoid this artist now.

I'm sorry if it doesn't seem like you're getting the answers you expected. I actually think if you (I don't know how the comm works, I've never had to post here) or one of the mods could alter the subject of the post, it would be helpful. We usually call this type of person a "scammer" for clarity. Or something along those lines. Fixing the subject will avoid any more back and forth about that.

That said, I'm not sure what failsafes are in place on Linden Lab's side when the payment from her was meant to be something that wouldn't be delivered in a measurable form for them (like an SL product). It may not hurt to shoot them a support e-mail. You really never know.

I'm still glad you had a beware posted for her, because if she agreed, took your money, and blocked you, it's a pretty good sign she's got it down to an art (awful pun not intended) and is doing this to other people.

This would be a 'scam' or 'ripping you off' not 'art theft', which is someone stealing your artwork/claiming they drew it.

I'd suggest making a new SL(not sure if that would work) or a new FA to note her.

I don;t really understand this. Did she send you a sketch, and you tell her that's not what you want, and would doodle something up to show her?

You told her what you wanted, and then changed your mind?

That may have been why she blocked you. That's a sign (Not saying you are) of a picky customer. She may have blocked you until it's finished, so you don;t harass her. (Not saying you will, but it happens.)

Not sure who is who since I don't use skype and the names are blocked, but saying 'love ya' to an artist (especially one you just met) is down right creepy. I refuse to speak with commissioners like that over IM.
