WHAT: I asked her to make a tail for me and paid $30 in cash, this commission was taken in person so I have no digital proof of the transaction.



WHEN: In around March last year I asked Akemi to make me a tail at a local coffee meet and paid her in cash. I told her the details and showed references from my FA page. I asked if it could be done by FurDU, a convention on the Gold Coast in Australia, which was at the end of April. She agreed that she could have it done by that time.

I didn't ask her about it for some time even after the deadline passed, nor did I have any contact from her about it, I'm quite a patient person. I was the first to initiate contact again via PM in May of last year at which time she stated she had received the wrong fur and offered me a refund, which I accepted. She said it would be in my account the following Wednesday but then sent a PM almost a week later saying that she couldn't pay. I said that it was fine and I understood.

There was no further contact on this matter until November last year when I again asked about my refund, this time over FA notes. She said she couldn't pay me because she had to put it towards bond and only gets paid fortnightly but would pay me the next time she was paid. I said I would contact her in a week but I didn't feel comfortable, I was following her journals at the time about her moving and I felt that if I contacted her again I would just get another run around.

Finally in March this year I told her not to worry about the refund, I had seen her journals about needing surgery so I thought it might help her out and I didn't feel like flogging a dead horse any longer.

EXPLAIN: I did resolve this issue I suppose, by giving up (never got a note back after that final one btw although it was read). It was annoying that she owed me money but was taking commissions, selling suits, working and BUYING commissions (and a new Artslave suit recently?) but didn't have $30 to pay me.

Yikes from the look of her shout box it seems like you're not the only one asking for a refund. I hope you get your money soon along with the others who are waiting.

Well hopefully she'll see this and come through with at least a jumping icon. It was really cool of you to give her that option since she seems financially unable to refund you at this point.

She never explained her side of the story for the last post, although I advised her to get it over with. I highly doubt we'll get an explanation here either.

The last time she was posted here, the OP solved the issue by doing a chargeback. While not preferred, maybe you should likewise explore that option.

Unfortunately I paid in cash and I was pretty relaxed about the commission originally so I probably would have missed the deadline for a chargeback anyway. :P

Recently a thread about Akemi blew up on FB to which I made a couple of small but valid contributions about her behaviour as a business person. A couple of people came in to defend her one in particular was ranting almost incoherently, I just discovered that this person contacted me via PM, apparently on Akemi's behalf. From the way this person was writing it looked like Akemi had sent her to talk to me instead of talking to me herself but I'm not sure, if she did send this person I'd be disappointed. I didn't pay your friend to do art for me Akemi, I paid you so naturally if you want to work things out then the only way to do that would be to contact me. Just because I am angry and frustrated doesn't mean I'm going to yell at you or anything, I've never yelled or ranted at you before and I don't plan on starting now. People are angry because you have done the wrong thing and instead of facing the music (which would help get everyone back on-side) you hide away behind your friends and behind excuses.

I paid her $20 for a badge and never got it and have tried to message her about it but have not received a response yet and that was back in february this year

I have left a print screened short summary of excuses i had got from Akemi for just $40 to be paid back. I had waited around about 5-6 months before i actually sent her these follow up messages for the original refundable amount.

Any other messages that i had sent to her about the issue were never followed up in any form or manner. I can supply them if asked, but they are just me asking her about the money ( months on from these messages)

I hope i am one of many that will happily oblige to making everyone aware of the possible dangers associated with this particular business

Hypocrisy and terrible communication

I have also had a bad experience commissioning Akemi/Flarveon/Poppy Pandacoon.

She advertised doing bust badges that evening, so I sent her the payment. She didn't do it that night, or the following night like she said. I'm very patient with commissions, so I wasn't too fussed. Within a week, she had a sudden interest in animation and worked on "jumping icons", including giving out free ones to people who requested it at that time on Facebook. Still not a big issue.

A month later she still knew I was on her to-do list, and said she'd clear up all of those. Still nothing.

She seemed to have continuous problems with her email and missing PMs through Facebook. I even resorted to shouting on her wall, which she posts to four times a day, but she still never replied to me.

Roughly three months from the commission date, I hopped onto her stream and got her to start my badge, which had turned into a "full body feral upgrade", which I'm not sure was really an upgrade. I think she only said yes because she thought I was a new commissioner and wanted the money coming in. She stopped at the sketch stage because she had to go to sleep, but refused to work on it any further until I attended another of her streams, which wasn't practical for me.

A week passed and I asked for a refund, which wasn't replied to.

Ultimately, she only finished my badge because a friend of mine reminded her in one of her streams to do it. At that point, I no longer cared, which seems to be a common experience.

I could accept a lot of the delays if she bothered to actually respond to her commissioners. The outright worst part for me was her constant complaining on Facebook about a fursuit commission of hers being delayed, and how the maker was accepting new commissions before her one - meanwhile, she was doing the same thing to a throng of her own commissioners without remorse.

Drama already comes and goes on this issue but she seems content to just sit and wait for the situation to blow over each time it comes up. For instance with the previous beware, she made a brief appearance to complain that she was being attacked and do the "woe is me" bit but nothing about the actual issue ever got resolved, and within a week no one was talking about it anymore. That says to me that as long as she's not in the spotlight she feels no pressure to think about what she owes people and that's just an awful business practice and an awful way to treat people. It also means that her reputation as an unreliable artist who owes many people art and money needs to be spread and kept out there until these issues are resolved.
